side effects questions
kll724 replied to ellasmom1222's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
elsasmom, you need to call your bariatric surgeon's office. You may have had a slip or something else. My surgeon said that my port did a slight flip because the skin got too tight around it. he said a lot of people need to have a smaller port placed after huge weightloss. Anyway, you need an appointment to check your band. Best wishes. I agree with you, I would not have the band taken out. But, that is just my opinion. Everyone has one, you have to make up your own! Band tied to emotions?
kll724 replied to Amanda1982's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i agree, stress and other things, like the weather, warmth, humidity, mood swings can make you band tighter! -
Mnwhit, I hope that you can get some relief! Best wishes ShayChristina. Best wishes to you both!

Looking good!

I agree with your statement of doing liquids all day after a fill. In fact, my surgeon has us do 2 days clear an 2 days full liquids after a fill or unfill. At any rate, glad that you were able to get past the stuffed feeling. take care and congrats on your success at lowering your time on the 5k.

Oh, Jean I agree, love crab cakes, but after living in Maryland for 44 years and then moving to central Florida, I can't find a decent crab cake, I keep trying tho'! So, they are, also, one of my go to "meals' for eating out!

Wow! go ahead Granny!

By the way, a lot of restaurants in my town in central Florida have 1/2 portions on the adult menu. I have noticed it on 2 different chain restaurants, one of them a little more fine than the other! Sad to say, most of us banders have found steak not on our menu. I don't eat of kids menu because I don't like their choices! i do order fish or chicken when eating out. If I order chicken, I make sure it has a sauce of some sort with it. I ask for a box, as 1st thing I do is take the part I am going to eat, and then remove the part that is going home. Best wishes for a safe and pleasurable meal. Karen

I had lost 43 lbs on my 6 month before band diet. I hit a plateau and it took about 4 months to really see a big weight loss. My surgeon was not concerned as I was doing 1-2 lbs thing. It sounds like maybe you are on a plateau, and need to do something different like increasing your calories to 1000 as stated above. best wishes,Karen

When Can I Start Jogging?
kll724 replied to hockeymother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
6 weeks sounds like the going amount of time. My surgeon's office said the same. you can walk tho'. maybe a fast walk will do it for you! -
My surgeon removed .1 ml yesterday because he said I was too tight and was eating around my band. It sounds like maybe, you also, are too tight. Ask your surgeon tomorrow if hat could be the case. Best wishes, I also, was banded in 2009, and have gained back some weight. Karen PS: you can start over, I am on clear liquids for 2 days and then full liquids for 2 days to jump start my start over!

Cheese is a good go to snack for me. I eat the Babybells or a like snack. But, don't forget to include it if you count your calories. Karen

I would call your surgeon or GP, left arm pain is NOT good! Best wishes, Karen

I always do too. I find that protein shakes go down as slowly as a regular meal.

I had my gall bladder removed in 2001, after losing about 40 lbs. I had problems before removing the gall bladder eating greasy foods such as fresh ham, or other fresh pork. I don't eat much beef or pork now, so can't say whether it will affect your band. Best wishes on quick healing and congrats on your maintenance. I have been for 2 years, but after a revision in Nov 2011, I have gradually gained and plan to get a slight fill today to stop the effect! Karen

I use magnesium citrate capsules, opened up, put in my mouth drink water to wash down. They work real quickly. They tickle the cilia to help with bm. They are the best and most natural way to have a daily bm for me. Best wishes what ever helps. By the way, I have had my lapband for almost 4 years and still have trouble with constipation. Karen

Yes, your stomach is swollen from your surgery. It takes a couple weeks for the swelling to heal. Take gas-x for gas and walk as much as possible to release gas and take swelling down.
-
Best to check with your surgeon's office. Mine suggested only walking for the 1st 6 weeks., but, yours might say different. A lot of surgeons say different things, so best to check with yours. karen

Well, sorry that you and a best friend had to part. Best wishes at finding another. Karen

I bet I get an unfill next week, grrr and I'm in the green zone.
kll724 replied to donna12's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Maybe not, best wishes tho'. I am not sure that having a colonoscopy will warrant a unfill. Make sure that you ask at your apt next week. I am glad to see that you are at green now! Karen -
Y'all think its too soon for a TT?

I would wait, as you indicate, your tummy pouch went up with the weight loss. It appears that your pouch might disappear with the rest of the loss. best wishes. Congratulations on your success, so far! Karen
