Looking great!

I agree, you wouldn't want to stress yourself if you did not lose the weight that you expect to lose by Oct.

NSV today on my 1 yr Bandiversary
kll724 replied to donna12's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations on your bandiversary and great NSV!!!! -
No, but its a good look for you. I had mine cut back about 3 years ago into my style and my hair falls naturally into it. I am so glad that I found it for me, and yours looks very similar. The "bob" is the bomb!!

Hah! Lots of folks wish they could get to that point!!Great NSV!

My surgeon told me last visit, when I asked for a fill,(got a slight unfill), that my port had tipped. He said that a lot of patients, after they have lost weight, had to get a smaller port. If you have a large port, and lose a lot of weight, the port gets tight under your skin. So, some people go for a smaller port. My port was tipped enough that he had to fill from the side and it did hurt a bit more than usual. I am like b-52 and my sticks out especially when I am in a bathing suit. Karen

Two Questions about time off and hospital stay
kll724 replied to MsGal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say your healing will be individual. But, 1 week seems to be okay. My son was out over the weekend, but then on light duty until approved to go back to regular work by surgeon. He works lifting heavy loads. As far as surgery, my insurance demanded overnight stay, otherwise it would have been in/out surgery. Bets wishes for great healing. Mostly, going back to the time off, make sure that you can get up and walk, at times. Karen -
I was required to see a nutritionist 1x.

How fun! Great NSV!

What is reason for not drinking with meals?
kll724 replied to seeme1954's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can do tiny sips, if needed, but as B-52 said, anything else will cause me to have a problem. It has been known to cause me to have pb problem. I try to stay with the no drinking rule! -
Tons of Pain, ulcer? Slip? Or just inflammation?
kll724 replied to angbutler0712's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yours is the primary reason my surgeon suggest removal of fluid when we have stomach virus. I had a slip after vomiting. Don't wait any longer, go to your surgeon's office ASAP!! -
You are probably losing now because you are eating properly which you could not do when you your slip. You should be fine. Just watch your self control while you wait your 1 month for it to go back into place. Best wishes to your losses. Karen

No point in getting on the scale
kll724 replied to adugan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After my lapband surgery, it was about 6 weeks to 2 months before I lost anything except the original 2-3 lbs after surgery. Relax, it will happen, just follow the plan. Many people have not even gotten on real food at 1 month. Best wishes, Karen ( met goal around 1yearto 18 months after surgery, and it was 100 lbs)!! -
Food No Longer Is Appealing
kll724 replied to barepooh71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is very little that excites me about food anymore! I am happy that my husband is a good cook and doesn't mind doing so for himself. Being an empty nester, I don't have o worry about feeding kiddos either! So, I eat what I want when I feel like it. I do an awful lot of fish, because I don't really like much else, anymore. Like ajtexas said I don't even want to eat burgers or that stuff anymore! -
Please help a long term bander-Slippage?
kll724 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Have you tried staying away from wheat products, which contain gluten? That would include a lot of items. My son has celiac and believe me it isn't easy. But, you do sound like you might, also, have gall bladder problems. Mine was nasty, but only became a great problem after I had fresh pork. I wanted to, and thought I would, die. You do need to do further investigating. A 2nd opinion is a good idea. Best wishes, hope that you can find the problem. (barium is a common thing to be allergic to). Karen -
LOL!
-
Yeah! Good NSV!
-
YEAH! Nice nsv!
-
Nope, I never felt better than after losing weight. I did not have flu, head colds or anything. I take only some vitamins and no other meds. I even gave up my allergy pills.
-
My 1st fill was at 6 weeks, and then approximately 30 days between fills until I and surgeon felt I was at "green zone".
-
Lisamase is right, head hunger is probably the hardest thing to fight. Even after 3 1/2 years, sometimes I still fight it. I am rarely hungry, tho'. Once you hit the "green" zone, you shoul dbe able to go around 4 hours between meals. Karen

Day 2 of being banded and 2nd stage diet?
kll724 replied to txflea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! definitely get differing opinions from surgeons. My surgeon says 2 weeks clear, 2 weeks full and then in 5th week start mushies. They, also, say that cottage cheese is not mushies. Besides the Snapple and broths and popcicles, there is sugar free jello and hard candies to suck on, and Special K has a clear protein powder to add to your water. You need to think outside the box without going against your surgeon's advice. Best wiehs, Karen
