Where do I get a restaurant card?
kll724 replied to rhya2k's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got mine in my packet from the surgeon's office, but I think it was from lapband people.I have never used it. I am over 55 so I can eat off senir o menu. But, don't mostly if I feel like I can't et much, I order an appetizer. A lot of the restaurants I go to have 1/2 meals, and if not I immediatley ask for a box after cutting what I think I can eat off, then I boz for take home the rest. I usually don't have hubby with me, so he gets my leftovers! -
Everyone has good advice. My main advice is to get up and walk ASAP! I walked about 5 times, around the hospital, it is one floor and small. There I was pushing my intravenous meds, and solutions around and walking the halls! Plus, I had trouble sleeping and my insurance demanded an overnight stay! Best wishes

Forgive Me For Whining!
kll724 replied to freedom4emjay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
dylanmiles23 said what I was going to say, some people don't need afill. You are going thru bandster hell right now. Just hang in there. As you progress thru your stages, it will be little easier. I was 6 months from my start until my surgery, during that time, I saw a nutritionist who advised me to use a smaller plate and showed me the size of my Protein, veggies, dairy etc. I have not used a full size plate in almost 5 years! I am surprised that you are able to add raw veggies, make sure that you chew them well. My surgeon considers cottage cheese not a mushies. So, you are kind of lucky. Best wishes, to you! Hang in there. Don't let your appetite undo your success! Karen -
Wow! They do sound yummy! Christmas is just around the corner! Thanks for the recipes!

You can do it! It is a little scarey, but we are here to hold your hand before an dafter. yo can just let su know if we can assit. I guess mostly, follow what your surgeon orders. He/she is the one that knows you best. We can answer any questions but surgeon's advice is most importnat. Walk as much as you can, stand up straight as possible.( that was an advice I learned from a man that had surgery on his stomach). Best wishes. Karen

Everyone said the same thing I wanted to say, 9 lbs? Pooh! My how nice, is all I would say to him!!((hugs)) to you, you can find better. Best wishes! -
That is why I chose my surgeon to do my fills,. My surgeon is a lapband patient. He understands head hunger, and everything else, too.
-
Try some pineapple juice or coke. It will help, too!

I use a small fork and salad plate. when I 1st started out, I did use a small spoon and fork that I had left over from when my grands were babies. I used them for awhile, you will get used to the size of bite shortly!

LOL!!!

Hi, I cooked a turkey, set eh table myself. I only eat of salad size plates. One small plate and that was plenty for me! There were 6 adults, 4 of which had lapband surgery, so I had a 10 lb bird and sent most of the remanider home with the adults hwo have children. The main problem in that is that others have been looking for non-existant leftovers!

Hi lwiggins, how are you doing? Well I hope! check in when you get a chance.

I can't see if anyone actually answered this, bu tin my case, and most othrs, the port is the biggest insision.

All I can say is ouch! Good healing to all of you! Take care! -
You can feel restriction with liquid diet! Best wishes!
-
I agree with others. If this is YOUR surgeon's diet, you should be fine! It doesn't sound like an enormous amount of food. I have to add, that you are lucky to be able to advance that quickly, my surgeon makes us do Clear liquids for a week following surgery.
-
My best advice is be aware that you will get pumped with gas and then for the next several days have pain; if you ge tpain in your left shoulder, do not be alarmed! My best advice is to walk a much as possible, and try to do it upright! Best wishes!!
