  1. Aww... you're SO sweet. Thank you. Know that the appreciation is mutual :) AND you're a teacher too, so you have double my respect!

The list is getting really long (near or around 50 people). Can you believe it? And it's only the 14th of November, so I wouldn't be surprised if that number doubled by this time next month. Updating it is no problem (none at all). Actually, it would make me crazy NOT to have a reference. Organization? Hmm... maybe OCD.

I'll post a new list tomorrow. Take care... and keep chewing! ;)

    God Bless,

    K

  2. Hi Suzy... your surgery is the day before mine (12/4). I just had my endoscopy yesterday - a bigger deal than I had thought it would be, but everything went well. I still need chest xrays and a few other lab tests... 3 weeks or so to go.

    Keep in touch!

  3. Honestly, it helps (a lot) to know that so many other people are experiencing the same excitement/nerves... mostly about living life with a band. I'm not that worried about the surgery itself. Everyone seems to get through that just fine. Matter of fact... I'm not sure but... is your procedure TODAY? Ohmygosh - that's fantastic! Well sweetie, take a deep breath and don't you worry about a thing. Everything's gonna be great!

Sending warm thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery. So excited for you!...

  4. I just wanted to thank you for thinking of me... it really helped knowing that. After a couple of "yucky" days (suzy's word - it totally fits :)), I feel wonderful today. *It looks like there are new December Delights, so I'll post a new list soon!

    I'm back.

  5. I must tell you... I'm a fish out of water!... but I think I did it. :)Where Bluebirds Fly…

All I know for sure is, there's a lot I don't know. But THANK YOU.

  6. Soooo? Are you healthy? Are you ready?... (inner squeal!). I think I'm ready, but freak out every here and again. Then I calm myself down. It's all good, but...

...right now I can't sleep (if that says anything :). 12/4 is just a few days away.

  7. Thanks ali!...

I'm feeling great today. I wasn't feeling so good for awhile there... did a lot of sleeping and pretty much stayed off the board. But the worst of it is over, and all things concerned, the icky feeling went by quick. I'm excited now and looking forward to the holidays. Thank you for thinking of me. You know, for some reason, it really helps to know you're not alone.

  8. The 'Pre-Op' sheet I'm looking at says "If your condition changes (fever, cold, flu, chest pain, etc.), notify your surgeon asap.

I woke-up yesterday (2 days before surgery) slightly congested and worried about it, but it was gone quickly and when I went to my pre-op appt., at 11, my lungs and sinuses wear clear and fever was normal. They'll check you and let you know if the problem is significant enough to delay surgery.

  9. We're thinking about you!... and anxious to hear how it went.

    Blessings,

    Karyn

  10. A "nut" class?... meaning, a class that was a little 'nutty'... or a two hour class on the topic of 'nuts'? Anything I need to know (abbreviated version please)?? I ditched my post op appt. yesterday. I know I shouldn't have, but all together it amounts to about five hours out of my work day, and that's once a week. Next Friday, the 15th, it will be 6 weeks since my surgery. I'm hoping for a fill then. Let me know about yours.

  11. ARe you SERIOUS?! That's amazing!... YOU'RE AMAZING. Ohmygosh, I'm so proud of you! See?? You knew you could! ;) I will very happily re-update that list I just posted.

  12. Aww... thank you! And you're welcome, of course. I just call it like I see it. :)

  13. Congrats on your weight loss AND your upcoming wedding! Funny because I did the same thing you did - bought a too small dress and then worried for months that I wouldn't be able to lose enough weight to fit into it. It was BIG TIME motivation. Well, although I would have liked to have been a few pounds less, the dress DID fit by the time my wedding day arrived... God bless. Of course, this was several years ago and I proceeded to gain 55 pounds after that. But anyway... that was pre-band and life was different then. Wishing you luck and loss!

  14. Did you get the answer to your ticker question? I spent way too much time trying to figure it out and then my husband inadvertently showed me how. I was trying to put the code in the place wheere links to picture files go. You just copy the code from tickerfactory.com or wherever (all of it) and paste it in the textbox where your signature goes. Hope that helps.

  15. Everything went well. I woke-up this morning feeling a little more sore than yesterday though, so I think I'll take some pain medicine and lay down for a bit. Glad to hear everything went smoothly with you too! We're banded :)

  16. Everything's gonna go great tomorrow! I'm excited for you and you'll be in my thoughts.

  17. Funny - I'm hispanic too and trippin' on the 'no tortillas' thing! (I'm pretty sure tabasco and hot sauce is fine once you're healed). Soocalchic's post below just made my day. If it's just a temporary 6 month thing, I can handle it no problem. It was the 'no rice or tortillas for the rest of your life' thing that I just couldn't wrap my brain around. The more I read, the better I feel. I hope the same is true for you.

  18. Good luck today!... I'm so excited for you!! :)

  19. Hi Claudean! Do you still need help with the ticker factory link?

  20. Hi Claudean.. how are you holding-up? I'm sure you're nervous/excited (llike me). We don't have long now... :)

  21. Hi Claudean... I'll send you an email.

  22. Hi Larry- I'll definitely keep in touch with you and let you know what you can expect, since my date is 3 days before yours. Like everyone else, I'm excited and nervous... but mostly, excited. My post-op diet looks a lot like yours. After the surgery, we need to heal... and then we can focus on getting the adequate amount of saline in the band (fills). *I reade everything I can get my hands on... it makes me feel better about the whole thing. It's a big decision - but I'm convinced that it's the right one for me. We can do this. :)

  23. Hi MommyJD, my surgery date is 12/4/09 and a year from now, I will be you. Well... sort of. :) I hope I do as well and am as successful with my weight loss as you have been (fingers crossed). Thank you for the inspiration.

  24. Hi Viv! Only 30-something pounds left? Wow. That's FANTASTIC!... Keep up the good work. It's inspiring to all of us. :) I liked how you offered your perspective on a bunch of people's posts and didn't leave anyone off. Very sweet.

  25. Hi, I saw your post. We are being banded on the same day... and are nearly the same weight and BMI (you must be 5'3'). Do you have a surgery time set yet on 12/4? I don't. I hope we can keep in touch!
