  1. Congrats on your weight loss AND your upcoming wedding! Funny because I did the same thing you did - bought a too small dress and then worried for months that I wouldn't be able to lose enough weight to fit into it. It was BIG TIME motivation. Well, although I would have liked to have been a few pounds less, the dress DID fit by the time my wedding day arrived... God bless. Of course, this was several years ago and I proceeded to gain 55 pounds after that. But anyway... that was pre-band and life was different then. Wishing you luck and loss!

  2. I just wanted stop by and tell you how happy I am for you! A precious little 'December Delight'!... what a blessing!

  3. How ARE you?

  4. Aww... thank you! And you're welcome, of course. I just call it like I see it. :)

  5. Hi Viv! Only 30-something pounds left? Wow. That's FANTASTIC!... Keep up the good work. It's inspiring to all of us. :) I liked how you offered your perspective on a bunch of people's posts and didn't leave anyone off. Very sweet.

  6. I'm down 26 pounds (total) in just over two months, which isn't bad. To be honest, I wish it was more, but I'm not complaining. I look and feel better and am on my way. So far, I have 3ccs and due back for another fill just as soon as I heal from the umbilical hernia repair surgery I just has (day before yesterday). How's your progress coming???

  7. You are awesome!... AND beautiful! Thanks so much for the out of the blue comment. You really made my day. Wishing you success! :)

  8. T-bird, did you ever get scheduled for a fill?... or are you still losing without one. Just curious.

  9. A "nut" class?... meaning, a class that was a little 'nutty'... or a two hour class on the topic of 'nuts'? Anything I need to know (abbreviated version please)?? I ditched my post op appt. yesterday. I know I shouldn't have, but all together it amounts to about five hours out of my work day, and that's once a week. Next Friday, the 15th, it will be 6 weeks since my surgery. I'm hoping for a fill then. Let me know about yours.

  10. Hi! Thank you... it's good to be back! I (purposefully) left my computer at work over the holiday break, so I wouldn't do work, but I didn't realize how much I'd miss you guys! I also didn't realize how many more December Delights there would join after 12/22... lots of new names. You're so funny about the wine! I am so sad to have to give that up too, but I want to see the scale move again darn it (maybe I'll just cut back or drink an Isopure anlong with it (hmm). As for my first fill - every time I ask, they say "6 weeks". That would make it the second week of January. I'm supposed to go in on the 7th (in 2 days) so I'll confirm the date then. They want to weigh me and check my wounds every week (which is a little much, I think). Is it the same for you?

  11. It's 11:30 am, so you should be all ready to go about now. I'm so excited for you. I hope you're not too nervous. Everything'll be okay. Thinking of you and saying lots of prayers for you!... not only for a smooth surgery but for a quick and easy recovery. We'll be here when you're ready to check-in. Hugs.

  12. The first couple/few days after surgery suck. They did for me too. I was in pain, nauseous, having hard time breathing and regretting this decision every second I wasn't asleep... and then, lo and behold, I turned a corner and started to feel better. After that, it was just a matter of a day or two, before I was actually feeling good (sore at the sites, but really good)... and then I was feeling great - like today. Anyway, just know that it definitely gets better. I was banded on the 4th and was at work today, as if nothing ever happened. So hang in there... wishing you well.

  13. I'm so glad you're feeling better! And let me know how you liked the movie. .. I heard the same thing (about the kleenex), but haven't seen it yet. I went Christmas shopping today and spent way too much money. I must be feeling better, right? I'm back to my old Christmas buying habits! My incisions itch, but the pain is minimal. I actually think I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow, but think I'll stay home one more day just to be sure. Heck, maybe tomorrow I'll go and get my nails done. :)

  14. ARe you SERIOUS?! That's amazing!... YOU'RE AMAZING. Ohmygosh, I'm so proud of you! See?? You knew you could! ;) I will very happily re-update that list I just posted.

  15. Thinking of you! No worries... the surgery will be a breeze and you will feel great in no time. *You'll feel icky at first, but that will pass.

  16. I'm feeling remarkably good today (perky even), how 'bout you?

  17. I just wanted to thank you for thinking of me... it really helped knowing that. After a couple of "yucky" days (suzy's word - it totally fits :)), I feel wonderful today. *It looks like there are new December Delights, so I'll post a new list soon!

    I'm back.

  18. I just said a prayer for you Larry and I'll be thinking about you all day! Don't worry, the surgery will go smoothly. You might feel icky for a couple of days afterwards, but that will pass and you'll be on your way! Good luck and hang in there!

  19. Thanks ali!...

I'm feeling great today. I wasn't feeling so good for awhile there... did a lot of sleeping and pretty much stayed off the board. But the worst of it is over, and all things concerned, the icky feeling went by quick. I'm excited now and looking forward to the holidays. Thank you for thinking of me. You know, for some reason, it really helps to know you're not alone.

  20. I'm home and fine though feeling a little yucky too. :) Not horrible... just yucky (good word).

  21. Everything went well. I woke-up this morning feeling a little more sore than yesterday though, so I think I'll take some pain medicine and lay down for a bit. Glad to hear everything went smoothly with you too! We're banded :)

  22. I'm good! I'm sore and I'm sleepy... but I'm banded! My back hurts (lungs, I think) and there's soreness at the incision sites, but other than that, I feel okay. It went perfectly. I'll stay in touch...

  23. Unless you have a fever and/or are hacking-up a lung, I'm betting it's alright. You may as well think positive - you will have a band tomorrow.

  24. The 'Pre-Op' sheet I'm looking at says "If your condition changes (fever, cold, flu, chest pain, etc.), notify your surgeon asap.

I woke-up yesterday (2 days before surgery) slightly congested and worried about it, but it was gone quickly and when I went to my pre-op appt., at 11, my lungs and sinuses wear clear and fever was normal. They'll check you and let you know if the problem is significant enough to delay surgery.

  25. Good luck today!... I'm so excited for you!! :)
