  1. Happy 45th Birthday SheriB!

  2. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary SheriB!

  3. I gained 7 lbs before my first fill. My doctor told me not to worry about it, that it happens to some people. I also gain weight (or definitely don't lose) about a week or a week and half before my period. I'm trying hard not to pay too much attention to the numbers. I'm eating better and way less than I ever have, and I am definitely getting healthier! Try not to worry about the weight gain. It happens. Once you start getting fills and have more restriction, it won't be as difficult as it is now. Sheri

    Super bummed....

I'm right there with you, sister! I'm only down 17 lbs, and feel like it should be way more than that! I just had a fill yesterday and it is TIGHT, so I am hoping that now the weight loss will kick into gear. I know I need to weigh my food and stop grazing! And maybe I should start exercising.... Hang in there. There's others in the same boat as yours! Sheri

    what's up with gaining?!

I've gained seven pounds since getting banded a few weeks ago. I had a dr appointment yesterday, and I said "I've gained weight!" and it's not because I'm eating out of control. He told me I'm not to worry about that right now and that there's nothing wrong with it. It happens to some people. Once I get filled (next week) then we will start working on the weight loss. He said right now is a time for healing and for learning how to eat again. Weighing food and not drinking at meal time are very important, both of which I need to work on! Good luck with the weight loss. It will happen. Don't get discouraged. Sheri
  6. Czarina : It sounds like we're on the same plan. Two days clear liquids, full liquids for rest of week, then one week of mushies, then soft foods leading into regular foods. I was worried too that no one else seemed to be on that same type of plan. I know someone who was banded by my doctor several years ago, and she has had no problems whatsover, so I think it's probably fine. I'm in week three, and haven't had any problems. Am eating a lot of different foods within reason, and am practicing chewing, chewing, chewing! Sheri
  7. That is fantastic! Congratulations! I used to be a teacher and would have gone for the National Boards had I stayed with it. Great news to end your day with!

    PAIN after surgery

I was banded on Wednesday, too, and cannot believe how much pain I've been in! When replacing the band, they also repaired a hiatal hernia, so that may also be contributing to the pain. Anyway, banded Wednesday, and home Wednesday. They gave me Tylenol with Codeine, which makes me sick, so I haven't been taken any pain relievers. Every day has gotten a lot better. I was up and moving a lot, though. But dang, the pain! Today is Saturday and the first day that I feel ok. My worry right now is that I haven't been hungry at all, so haven't really taken in any calories since Tuesday. I hope your husband feels better soon.
