  1. I have been reading so many posts and from the looks of things it seems that the band is just a temporary fix. No matter what the band is going to come out eventually and that scares me. I dont want to lose all this weight to just gain it back 5 years from now. I am going through the process now to try to get the band approved, but know I am kind of ify about it.
  2. Hi Wendy, I am looking into being banded with Dr. Randall as well, I dont have a surgery date yet, I have one more appt with Dr. Randall and one more Nutritionist visit. I just wanted to know how your surgery went.
  3. Hi, I know you posted this over a year ago, but I am planning on getting the lapband with Dr. Randall too, and I was wondering how your experience was with him.
  4. 5 cc's to start out with...wow! Me I had my eval yesterday, in which I did all my bloodwork, and an EKG...On Jan 27th I have to go back to see the surgeon and the Nutritionist, I have to schedule the Mental Health visit. I am a little nervous about this whole procedure, I just dont want to fail...I have failed at soooooo many diets, all I keep doing is putting on the weight.
  5. remodelingme: You were banded on 7/14/09 and you are already up to 10.5cc, how many fills have you had?
  6. Doesn't restriction wear off sometimes? what if you loose that restriction, and you happen to need another fill and you are already at your max, what happens then? It just scares me to think that the Lapband is not going to work for me. I have my eval today and I have tons of questions....I have never had surgery in my life and its a little scary.
  7. I have read a lot of posts about having a 9cc, 14cc bands and I was wondering how many fills could the bands possibly take? is it possible to fill it all the way and still not get the restriction you need...I just dont get it? Sorry I am new to this and my first eval is tomorrow...
  8. Sberrys thank you so much for the heads up...and congrats on your approval, please keep me posted on how it goes...Goodluck with your surgery!
  9. Thats great Kiz I am so glad everything worked out for you. I am so excited to start this process, but also scared, I have never had surgery in my life. And thanks J.M it gives me hope to know BCBS approved you so quickly.
  10. O ok, I am going to try to go through insurance BCBS, My BMI is 45, but I have no co-morbidities, well hopefully all goes well and I get approved. How is the band working for you?
  11. So they automatically schedule a date for surgery? and then you make the appts for the pro op tests and get the approval before that surgery date?
  12. Hi, my name is Nancy and I am scheduled for an eval on Dec 9th, I wanted to know what happens at an eval and what will happen after that?
  13. Thank you for answering this question for me I really appreciate it...
  14. I know this is personal and I dont mean to offend anyone, but after your banded does sex hurt? I mean, can you feel the lapband in you?
  15. Hi, my name is Nancy, I am 31 years old and weigh 255 lbs. I have been looking into getting the lapband, I have tried so many diets and they just dont work for me. I end up gaining double my weight back. I have a seminar on Oct 20, 2009 and then I have an eval scheduled with the surgeon on Dec 9th, 2009. I am a little scared about this, I have been reading all your posts, some good, some bad. This seems to be a very helpful website so I do plan on visiting it frequently. :scared2:
