  1. Rose.... don't fall into the habit of eating and drinking to "push" things down. If bread is getting hard, stop now before you do damage to your band. lots of people who start doing this find out its away to eat "around" the band. You want to optimize your weight loss and use your tool correctly. This means eating good healthy Proteins and veggies.... going easy on the carbs and avoid as much as possible the bads... Ice cream, candy, Cookies..... I will be the first to admit that over the past few months i have falling to the Ice cream devil. And for that i have gained 6lbs since Feb 2012. Which i know is not bad... but it's not good either... I also know that some doctors are saying that drinking while you eat is ok, but i still follow my Doctor and the Majority of the LB patients here and Not drink while i eat. I wait 30 min. after. Hope you luck and happy losing,......

    Scars

let me save you all a lot of money.... all you need is a good moisturizer or some 100% vit. E oil.... then give it some time..... time heals all.... I tried to find a pic that you can see some of my scars....lol Will try and get a pic of what they look like now. 1/3/13: Redid the photo....

    Hunger!!

drink a cup of coffee... that should help with the headache. Can you have smoothies? If so, go get you one... Do you have access to a freezer during the day? if so, go get you some fruit bars. I ate Jello, pudding, soup (broth, no chunks) and made smoothies to drink. smoothies: Go to Sams and get the precut frozen fruit in a bag... it's a big bag of mixed fruit. Keep them frozen. In a blinder (i bought the mini Hamilton Beach) take two-three cups of the frozen fruit, mix in one container of the fat/sugar free yogurt, and some protein power. Blend... I didn't add ice because the fruit is frozen.... and if it's too think, add a little Skim milk. I also really liked the boost pre made drinks.... the milk choc. and the banana was good. I had to drink cold and all at one time. and did i tell you i was on Vacation for the last week of my Liq. diet.... fun fun fun....lol Good luck

    4 weeks with Band Question

That is a great question.... Have you told your LB Doctor? What does he/she say? I would think that as long as you are eating and getting nutrients to the baby... you should be good. Continue to take your Vitamins . and maybe get in some extra smoothies with extra Protein. Track your intake of calories and protein and then bring it to your OB and ask if what your eating is enough to sustain one/or more babies... I have seen on this site, women that get preg and have the band "relaxed".... and gain a lot of weight. So be careful if you do that.... In a normal pregnancy (one baby), you should expect to gain about 25lbs or so. Was your goal to lose weight to have a baby? Good luck and congrats .....
  7. I love them.... they taste the best and they never give me trouble to eat. Remember, everything will be trial and error at first... you will have to do some self monitoring for the first few months because you will be able to eat... i found that using a small kid plate, you know the ones that are divided and a small kid spoon/fork helped. Portion out your food with your 1/4 cup measuring tool and stick to it. If you get hungry... sip on a smoothie or protein shake... Embrace every pound lose... Never think... Damn i "only" lost 1lbs or 2lbs... etc. Every pound lost is a pound to celebrate. Set small goals and rewards. I would treat myself to pedi's and mani's for every 5/10lbs. Take lots of pictures, i wish i would have done that... and as soon as the clothes get too big that you can take them off with out unbuttoning them or zipping.... get rid of them I donated and shopped a lot at the GoodWill when i was losing...
  8. Flord... is right.... But, i found that if i over cooked the egg.... yes i got stuck..... if i scrambled it lightly... i didn't. Instyle.... what you can and can't eat is different for everyone. I can eat potatoes and some Pasta. We went to eat Japanese Monday night and ate one small bite of fried rice... i was miserable for two days (one would think after 3 years i should no better)... I felt bloated and like everything was getting stuck.....But that's just me. Others have no trouble with rice.
  9. As with any surgery.... everyone is different. The LB is the same... no two bandsters are the same and it seems that neither or all the doctors....lol. My doctor said that i should stay away from fibrous items like Celery and pineapple... So i do. I did try them and he was right. the Fibers ball up and get stuck. My first few months it was easy to eat most anything.... this is when your will power is tested the most. Even though you CAN eat most anything... Should you? My thoughts is if eating bread, rice, Pasta... etc was what made us all fat to begin with, why not use our tool to stop them all together. I have the 14cc band and i have 10.5cc in it now. These are the things that have always given me trouble: White Bread, white rice, white pasta, over cooked: steak, chicken, pork,, A normal days food for me: Breakfast is a cup of coffee... 30 min. later i eat one soft scrambled egg and a slice of bacon. Snack is laughing cow cheese with a few Crunchmaster multi grain crackers. lunch is most likely Soup (wendy chili applebees broc/cheese) or a baked sweet potato, or a small salad (i have trouble with ice burg lett.. so i eat baby greens). Snack depends if i'm hungry.. i'll eat dried cheerios or a special k bar. Supper is either grilled chicken/fish with veggies or salad/soup. I never drink with my meals and stop when i fill full.... or if i start too burp/hiccup.... that's normally my sign to stop. Good luck...
  10. Ok, so before i made this post i went look at your before and now pictures. You have done an amazing job with your weight loss. I think you should go for it.... and i'm going to tell you why. So i'm going to assume that for one you and or your family can afford it, not many people take a picture on there parents yacht ..... Not too be rude but you do kind of look like a high maintenance girl, not that there is anything wrong with that... high maintenance is not cheep. Also, you are very beautiful.... i predict that after the TT.... and years down the line after you marry, to what i will predict will be a wealthy man.... and if/when you have kids and if/when you may need some tightening up.... you can get it redone. you are young, you have worked your ass off and you deserve to be happy now, why wait... enjoy your younger years why you can. You only live once.... I had my TT last Feb 15, 2012... So i am now 45 weeks (10 1/2 months) out. I could not be happier with my New Flat Stomach.... Thank you Jesus for Plastic surgeons .... Mine was Hip to hip and i had him go as far down into my pelvic area a possible.... i didn't want the straight across. I wanted to be able to be a 44 year old grandma in a bikini.... and i now am... whoop whoop. My surgery cost total was $8800. I am paying for it myself, because i wanted it and my husband said he didn't agree.... and if i wanted it i would have to figure out a way to get it myself.... So i went to Chase opened up a Slate card with 0% interest for 15 months and i started cleaning my office building one night a week to pay for it.... Done! My stay was one night, in a wonderful surgery center with a pain pump in one hand and a RN at my beck n call in the other.... I went home the next after noon with heparin injection, which my LPN daughter in law, came to give me twice a day and Percocets. My pain was so minimal that i still have most of the pain meds left. I was back at work in 12 days.... only because it was a holiday week for us here in the south.... Mardi Gras. I was also fitted in the operating room with my compression garment.... which was great, but the zippers down the side was a pain in the Butt..... so i put a maxi pad on each side ... and wala... no more pain. I didn't have drain tubs... which i was grateful for... most people say that's what hurts the worse. Well, I hope i was able to help a little and i hope i didn't offend you. So in a Nut shell.... DO IT... ENJOY IT AND HAVE A WONDERFUL SKINNY LIFE... I attached a before and after, that was at 6 months... looks even better now.

  13. Trust me.... after being on the liq. diet two weeks before and then after.... you will be starving and want to eat.... listen to your doctor..... You will get conflicting info here, because every patient is different and so is every doctor....

    anyone at 9cc?

As of yesterday.... im back at 10.5 in my 14cc band. I was at 10.5 for a while and then i had my Tummy Tuck (2/15/12) and the PS removed all my fill.... So i had to start over. First refill was in April when he put 4cc, June he put in 5cc and yesterday i got 1.5... === 10.5 Not as hungry as i have been and i'm thankful. I was hungry all the time. Grateful that i only put on 6lb since feb.... , but yesterday was a new start and i'm getting back on track

    Tummy tuck tomorrow ..

Just like my two friends here.... no i didn't NEED the TT. I was a size 6-8 going in and still a 6-8. But, I hated the apron that hung down. I felt I didn't bust my Butt losing this weight, going to the gym most everyday to still not feel confident with the "total outcome". But after 2 csections, gallbladder, hysterectomy and the LB.... my stomach looked like hell (at least i thought so). No amount of exercising was going to make it go away. So, Feb 15, 2012 i did it and i am sooooooo happy with the outcome. I would do it again tomorrow. My upclose was at two months and the other was at six months. Sorry if it grosses you all out...

Getting my band back together :)

Good to hear you are back and everything turned out great. I have to admit that after my TT and i had nothing in my band two months.... i did eat a few things that i had not had in over two years... and yes, one of which was a hamburger and fries.... But, i'm going to say this also... That it has been hard getting back on track. since Feb i put back 6lbs... but it's my fault. Ice Cream is the devil... and i have not been going to the gym. So yesterday i went in for a fill of 1.5 which brings me back to 10.5 and i'm hoping to get back on track. By the way.... you look great...
  20. i know i had solar nails on when i had my Tummy tuck..... they didn't say anything.... maybe call and ask first.
  21. BayougirlMrsS

    I needed that....

Thanks you guys...... your the best....
  22. BayougirlMrsS

    I needed that....

This is true.... before i would have already gained it all back. I know that band works and i know how to work my band.... I know what it takes and it takes not stopping at the ice cream shop on my way home and eating it in the car before anyone sees me.... stop going to the Cajun Potato and getting the baked potato.... Stop eating fruitloops at night for a meal when my husband is not home.....i need to get out of this Funk i'm in.... i need to stop listening too others when they start telling me... "your getting too thin"..... i need to get back to the Gym... and get dedicated to ME!! 2013 i will be 130-135 and toned....and tanned....lol Tan fat looks better than white fat... Thank you guys

    Tummy tuck tomorrow ..

You look Great!!..... looking at your pics i would have never guessed you weighed 245 at one time. My TT was the best thing ever..... I'm able to wear underwear and they don't role down anymore.... i have a new love with VS. Although i can't wear the bras... i now have a draw full of sexy thongs....yes.. and i love the way it makes me feel. You incision looks great.... keep it moisturized I had asked my PS about the silicone Patches... he said they don't do anything a good moisturizer can do.... My scar looks great... can't see it unless i remove my panties... mine does not go straight across... it dips down into my pubic area... which is what i wanted. Hip to hip. does yours go all the way around?

    first Fill!!

Just got back from getting fill #13.... i was at 10.5 before my Tummy Tuck, PS took out all the fill, so today was fill #3 post TT. back at 10.5... hope this is the spot again. I'm going to be honest..... it depends on how your doctor does your fill. My doctor puts a rolled up pillow behind my back.... This pushes the port up so he can fill it better. He always does a great job and the most i fill is a prick of the needle. On the other hand the other doctor that practices with him does not put the pillow and makes you do kind of a crunch.... that one hurt... i did not like it at all. Every doctor is different...... But all in all..... it is pretty much pain free.
  25. Going for a fill in 45 min. last one was June 13th. Able to eat way too much and i have gained 5lbs... I'm going to get him to check me for a leak... Lets see how this goes...
