You will probably hear this over and over.... but are you tracking your food? Portioning out? Of course, not eating with meals and waiting the 30 min after the last bite? Did you do your before and after pictures and measurements? Sometime the scale won't move but your clothes fit better. Pictures are important... we don't always see what we really look like. I always found planning and portioning is the best way to go. I pre plan what i'm going to have the next day and have it ready to go. I do still work outside the home M-F. Even if its a new restaurant, i google the online menu and read every item and decide what i will have. I always have a back up in case they are out. I also ask for a go box with the meal. Before i take one bite i portion my food and box everything else up. Hand the box to my husband and he knows not to give it back..... This will also stop the wait staff from asking if your meal is ok...When they see you barely touch your meal....They will keep asking.

    So disappointed in people

Yayyyy. Remember, while yes it is easier with support.... it can and has been done with none. Set your mind on your goal. Don't let others bring you down. When people start to be negative... simply turn and walk away. when they ask why, just say..... i'm not going to stand here and listen to any negativity. They will get the picture. surround yourself with positive people..... This is why lost of people get addicted to the gym. Lots of positive people. I personally loved Crossfit.... No mirrors on the walls and i got a personal trainer every day.... and when i felt i couldnt do something i had people all around encouraging me to keep going....

    So disappointed in people

So sorry to hear that. My ex HATED the idea of me having sx. I thought the same thing.... maybe he is just worried about me. I had taken DP too before WLS but i could never keep it off. So he was not that worried. But when i told him about the WLS.... he knew i was serious.... and we argued for weeks before... he tried everything to get me to not do it. We went out of town on a bike (harley) ride the week before when i was doing my liquids and would say... take a bit...one wont hurt... He would say the same thing.... that when i got "skinny" i would leave him (sx 2009, divorce 2017) I was at 143 for years.... i finally decided to leave after a few things...... I found myself hating to go home and i caught myself fantasizing about his death (i know it sounds bad, but it's my truth).... I knew it was time. I surely hope that you all's relationships do better than mine. On a positive note, i did find the love of my life he supports my every choice.... so there are men out there that will .

    yes... absolutely. and agree

    So disappointed in people

sure...... Well the biggest one was the marriage. I was married for 26 years. I was blinded to what our relationship was really... It was about me being a pleaser and him being a taker. The fatter i got the worse i felt and less confidence i had.... the more control he got. I couldn't even buy underwear without his ok. Never physically abusive... but very mental. The more confidence i got... the less control and he hated it. He NEVER approved of my WLS. Now i know why. He never wanted me to lose weight period... Back then i didn't see, i thought if only i could lose weight he would love me and show me affection... NOPE it got worse. When he saw that he had no control over me losing weight.. he would start saying.... You know, you were prettier when you were fat, you have wrinkles now... or that i looked like a bag of bones... i could go on and on. Lost my larger friends.... I didn't fit in with them anymore. They didn't want to hear about my weight loss or eating or going to the gym. Lost some of my thinner friends too.... after i lost weight i was no longer the "fat" girl in the group and they hated that people showed me attention. But.... my true friends supported me when i was Banded. I still choose to keep the sleeve to myself this time. Just easier to not talk about it.

I do too.... all the time. Different now with the sleeve. I know for a fact i had more control over my WL with the band than with the sleeve. Band i thought about food all the time, but really never "hungry"...... Sleeve i do still think about food, but i'm hungry all the time. I feel like i consume more than with the band... but i guess i'm not. My lowest weight with the band was 130, but i really was starving myself... that was in 2016... Before that, i pretty much stayed at 143. With the sleeve, i eat a few bites and can't eat much more.... but i am hungry faster. But i'm down to 120 with little to no effort. I would give it a few days.... do what you know to do... eat what you can.... I know on fill days my go to was Wendy's chili..... or tacobells beans and cheese..... but it seemed as soon as i lost a few.. the band would loosen up and i could eat more and maintain that weight. If it get where you can't eat... then deff. go back. Better to be loose and you control your eating than too tight and lose your band. I miss my Tina everyday.....

    So disappointed in people

I agree with everyone above. I too am angry for you and completely understand. When i first got banded years ago, WLS was still a very "take the easy way out" mentality. I told my (now) x, two sons, couple friends and few co-workers. I thought no big deal.... On the day i went back from WLS i got laid off with about 100+ others (gulf oil spill, lived in south La). Those few "co-workers" told everyone. I felt like everyone was judging me all the time. Thats why this time only my hubby knows..... So much better. Two things i do know.... WLS changes people. Not only how people look at you but how you now look at yourself. How things before would really get to me... but after i just let it roll off my back. I walked with more confidence. You will learn something will happen. Your relationships will change. If you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, that will start to change..... sometimes for the good and some for the bad. My dr asked, "how is your marriage" at the time i thought it was good and didn't see why he was asking..... Now i understand. I so admire people who's relationship withstands or gets better after WLS. I would also bring to HR what's going on. It is non of their business what you do. Would they be expressing "concerns" if it were any other SX that helps to improve your health? Would they be saying anything if it were heart sx or female sx..... NO...

Hey Edward.... are you under stress again? What's your morning like? I had to always start with hot coffee in the am. Normally didnt eat till about 9am and like you i was never hungry. I would give it a few days ... but maybe a .5 removal might do the trick. As long as you can still get in some water and not dehydrate. I too had the 14cc band.... my good spot was 10.5cc i stayed there for years.

    NSV!!!

    WOW that is great news

    Alcohol 😳

well it all depends on the person. there are a lot of people that transfer addiction from food to alcohol, shopping, sex, PS..... I can only talk about the band and sleeve. I have a drink a few nights a week when my husband is home.... when he is not, I don't. For me it's definitely not Crack.... for some, maybe
  15. BayougirlMrsS

    Alcohol 😳

I stick to noncarbonated drinks..... margaritas, wine, martini..... I can only have one as more gets too me.
  16. BayougirlMrsS

    Is this it?

I sure wish this was true..... One day people on here are very encouraging and supportive then you say one thing they don't like and bam... you are an outcast... I have seen it done to many people... myself included. I do agree, she and everyone are entitled to their opinion. She may suffer from what a lot of people do, body dysmorphia..... I do, i still see the 232lbs woman in the mirror sometimes even at a size 0

    Guilt

I see and have experienced both sides. back when i had my Lapband i thought i would only tell a few people. Well we all know that a lot of people have trouble keeping things to themselves. I worked with about 500 women in a major freight company and if one knows.... they all know. At first, i said... i'll only tell my husband, a few close friends and a few family members..... I would say... i'm eating right and exercising... Which were both the truth. After about a year, more and more people knew. I no longer worked at that place. So then when people said.... hey i heard you had WLS, i would come clean and say yes. I had a few that made remarks that i took the "easy" way out. Or they would do the look... you know the up and down scan with the judgmental eyes. 89lbs later and i stopped caring. 2017 the band came out.... 8/28/2019 i chose to get sleeved (173lbs). This time i told NO ONE except my husband. My co-workers only know that i took a couple of days to have a hernia repaired (which was true). They also know that i had started losing last year for my upcoming wedding (9/26/2019).... I lost 20lbs by the wedding date. They also knew that i had started Crossfit... It has been almost a year and i'm down 52lbs. Co-workers say, you need to stop losing. Neighbors say if you lose anymore you'll blow away.... I just say, i feel great, and leave it at that. 100%.... prefer the not telling.

What if 6 month waiting period puts me under 40 BMI

your BMI is what most insurance looks at. That and co morbids. I was like you, i had non.... but i was right at a 40bmi so until i ate and got to a 42bmi. My dr. said for me to NOT lose any until i got approved. Once approved you can lose what ever you want too.

    help i think im overeating

my advice.... start with a saucer plate and us your measuring tool. I stuck with 1/8 cup. 1/8 cup protein, 1/8 cup veggie and 1/8 cup other..... Now that you are on the puree phase, i would stick to 1 cup. Puree will go down so much easier and you will be hungry faster. Practice putting down the fork/spoon down after each bite and actually letting it go. Put food in mouth, but don't just swallow... let it set in there and still chew. It help to close my eyes and try and pick out the different flavors. Practice your chewing. Wait 20 seconds between bites. NEVERRRRRRR drink while you eat. This also will cause you to get hungry faster. wait the 30 min after your last bite. Never eat in front of the tv, at a desk, in the car... I only eat at the table. This way you can concentrate on your eating and not whats on the tv. Hope it helps
