Eyezsmile33 got a reaction from aloudwhisper in Sleeved!
I know each surgeon diet requirements are different, but I'm still on Clear liquids only. I had my band removed in May 2014, and was sleeved on Aug 26. It was not as smooth sailing as I had hoped. Extreme nausea, the barium X-ray drink gave me extreme stomach problems and then I started having a painful back pain so my stay was 4 days instead of 2. However, now that I'm home, I'm feeling better. Super tired, and not hungry at all, but good overall.
I'm still on all Clear Liquids, but 1/4 cup of broth and a spoonful of sugar free jell-o and I am FULL. Not the painful stuck full like the band, but full like yummy thanksgiving dinner. I have to admit, I'm loving the loss of hunger sensation.
I think the key is keeping gently active, not forcing each new step or milestone and set personal reminders to consistently keep those fluids coming. I know for myself I want this so bad that it's just a matter of keeping our head in the game. Good luck and good thoughts to you!!!

    Eyezsmile33 got a reaction from Huggies123 in Sleeved 08/26
Oh I can so relate!! I had surgery 8/26 and was absolutely miserable. Even stayed in the hospital until late Friday due to complications. The barium liquid for the X-Ray had a nightmare result for me and I was extremely sick. Plus I still can't get a deep breath in. Now the shoulder pain has kicked in. I know it feels so frustrating and that light we saw at the end of the tunnel has dimmed, but I just tell myself it's baby steps. Anything worth having is worth the journey. You can do it!! Stay positive!!! (I know, easier said than done). Spoil yourself with naps, taking it easy, casual walks, and for me, sugar free Popsicles!! :-) Find the good in the little stuff. I'm with you!!! Best of luck!! xox

Congrats!! I had mine on 8/26 and unfortunately had some complications and so wasn't released until late Friday. Now that I'm home I'm still eh but anxious for each new step! Don't rush and just take your time with feeling better!!! :-)

Eyezsmile33 reacted to NoDramaLlama in Band to sleeve revision slower weight loss?
My doctor and I discussed this at my last appointment. I am a revision band to sleeve. Had my band out in April, will be sleeved August 4. He said there was a study published recently that indicated no real difference in success rates between "virgin" sleevers and revisions from band to sleeve.
I would guess if a person was revising while at a lower BMI, the weight loss would be slower than someone with a higher BMI, but since I had gained most of my weight back, I don't expect to have any slower weight loss than if I had sleeve first without the band.

Eyezsmile33 got a reaction from stacielynntate in Prep time....which was more challenging....Band or Sleeve?
Hi stacielynntate sounds like the basics are really the key, that's great advice! I know it's easy to get anxious, but I think if I do like you are also, just take it very slow, baby steps, that's the way to go. I think sometimes I feel like a know it all...we figure out the game and secrets pretty soon so like you said also just have to get through the mind games....we are definitely our own worst enemy. Thank you for sharing, glad to hear you are feeling so great already, I can't believe I have a month left!
