  1. Hi All, I was banded on October 5. I am at the MUSH stage. I have been eating chicken salad, egg salad-both finely grated. I also have had some mashed potatoes w/ melted mozzarella and garlic, finely pureed chicken and gravy. I also had scrambled egg white with melted cheese. I dislike tuna and cottage cheese. Oh my favorite has been skim ricotta, garlic, sauce and a little melted mozzarella. It is like ziti without the noodles. I am BORED with these few choices. Does anyone have a special concoction they have made at the soft foods stage? Any help is appreciated. Tracy PS I was weighed yesterday and am down 20 lbs!!!
  2. Mine said only Tylenol 650, which is arthritis strength. I was told no ibufrofen or aspirin. Ever. I love motrin for "certain things" too.

    Anyone pissed off??

I agree with tanqueray about the addiction part. When I used that word with a few friends they scoffed at it. Even the fat ones. They think "they just like food a lot". I am trult thankful for all the pre-op stuff my surgeon had us do. I met with nutritionist before and had a 3 hour class at the hospital a week before.being banded. It talked us through the process from where to park at the hospital to what we would have for Breakfast and lunch before leaving. I also am glad my surgeon lets you go home on soft foods. That helps with being hungry too. Though I am very hungry between meals too. My new line is "that's why skinny girls are bitches...they're hungry". I have been very nasty at times too. I told off a substitute teacher pretty badly in front of kids. (But right now I am full and she did deserve it.) I love this board. Othjers can't understan
  4. Who makes the dark chocolate Protein Drink?Sounds good. I am a newbie and have only bought hot chocolate at my surgeon's office.
  5. I think it is like anything, sometimes we need a swift kick. You know you are there now. If the liquid is safe at this stage, I don't see why not do it to drop a good amount and get re-focused. Emotions trigger our responses. People like us eat. I packed on about 40ls. after my mom passed. That pretty much brought me to my surgeon. Good luck and keep the faith.
  6. I was banded on a Monday and returned to teaching HS the following Tuesday. Would have gone on Monday , but it was Columbus Day. I did get jostled a bit by kids hauling book bags and stayed out of the halls when it was class change time!

  10. just seeing if my ticker was added.

  11. I will def check it out. I think this site is not so user friendly, unless it is just me.

  12. I am not sure how we ended up on this other thread...I am not so good navigating around yet ....I am a bit technologically challenged LOL Last night I was very hungry and need more liquid so I made a decaf tea, splenda and some vanilla protein powder. It was sweet and filling. I feel like I killed 3 birds: Liquids, protein and satisfied the hunger. I made a large tea 20oz. so it was very filling.
  13. Hi, I am only a week post-band and know how you feel. I have had moments of OMG What have I done? Friends already made plans without me b/c of surgery and food issues. I was ticked, but then realized b/c I have chosen to manage my addiction and they haven't is their prob. not mine. It must be better when we move to solids. My doc sends his people home on mushie, so I have been OK. Having hunger for the first time though. Hang in there and check in on here Ok? Tracy
