  1. At 5 ft 6 inches, I am annoyed that the goal for me is 170. I will still be at least a size 16. The nutritionist ( a skinny dipsy thing) said I would be a size 8 and maybe even a 6!! She forgets I was 170 on my way up to 289(size 22) and I know I was at least a 16/18 then. All this for a few size drops.....But overweight is better than morbidly obese. LOL
  2. Someone on here mentioned Sun Dried Tomato Wheat Thins. They are now my "Crack". LOL I loooooove them. I also have had other flavors and enjoy them too, but the Tomato is my fave. I wish Nabisco would make the reduced Fat in the flavors and not just the plain. I wish I never tasted them. I don't think I ever ate a Wheat Thin before.... What's your "Crack"?
  3. Just moaning a bit... I know what needs to be done....With all the crazy running and shopping have not been planning/shopping/eating as I should. On top of it all, the holiday goodies are appearing in the house as others attend parties and such. Been very weak in resistance. Need a major trip to supermarket to get right things in house and will re motivate this week. Hoping to at least hold steady til fill in January, if not lose a few. Hope everyone is hanging in there and enjoying the holidays despite the abundance of food forever flowing! LOL Tracy
  4. I would be careful, since they did not send you home on mushies. I don't think you did anything too bad; I came home on mushies eating eggs and such....Hang in there.
  5. I came home on mushies and then solids about 4 weeks later. Each practice is different.
  6. Yesterday I posted about my "good Breakfast, too good?'. I was very excited that I had what I thought was a decent meal for breakfast. Then I got some replies about the poor choices and quantity. I really felt I was doing a good thing with that breakfast. I also went back and checked calories. it was about 350. If we eat about 1000 cals a day and I have 3 meals only that is about right. I take in stride the salt comments. But if I am spreading out my food groups over the course of a day, is that really wrong? I can't eat peppers and such just yet. Waiting for them so I can add some crunch and flavor, but not yet. I spent a good part of yesterday feeling bad about my meal, but still don't see what was so wrong with it. I have not gotten a response from nut yet. That breakfast was a 1/4 of the size of what I WAS eating for a weekend breakfast. I am not angry and believe people were trying to be helpful, but really felt like someone deflated my balloon. :thumbup: OR MAYBE I HAVE PMS and am BEING SENSITIVE. LOL Tracy
  7. Hi Jachut, Yes, you did talk about spreading out the food over the day. I did not feel 'attacked', gosh it is so hard to get "tone" across when you type. I did not realize that there was such a difference in the high Protein debate. I know each surgeon is different, that is obvious from the posts, but I thought the high protein was pretty wide spread. It is very interesting. I see you have been banded a while, I was wondering what you felt about vegan "meat" patties. I had a bruschetta 'chicken' patty tonight for dinner with a bit of FF mozzarella and tomato sauce. I had 1 bite too many, no PB, but 1 bite too many for sure. I am getting into vegan things, as they have flavor and bulk. I also want to try soy noodles, but not sure if they are allowed. Thanks, as always, for your valuable input. I sort of see you as the "Band Master", since you are so far oiut of surgery and look AWESOME!!!! Tracy

I just made a really good Breakfast, I wonder if it was "band friendly" since it was so good: LOL Mission whole wheat wrap (small) 4 slices turkey bacon 1 serving egg beater 1/4 cup Reduced Fat colby-jack cheese I want to go do a calorie count, but I am FULL!!! I mean really full! I am sort of having fun finding foods and combos that taste OK and work w/ my band.
  9. wow..all the stuff were items I discussed with the nutritionist and PA. I see that 4 slice of turkey bacon is a lot, especially the salt, but the egg beaters (egg substitute-whites) and reduced fat cheese are all things that fall in line w/ the fat and Protein guidelines. The egg is 1/4 cup uncooked which cooks up to not much. I have had a similar breakfast maybe once a week (weekend when I have time) and been OK. I have been told to still do high protein, low fat minimal carbs, and I thought this fell into that. I will check with nutritionist. Maybe these in combination were not a good choice. I did have green Beans w/ my dinner just now: a Boca chicken patty.
  10. I was just "approved" for 1 fruit serving per day and the only greens the PA said I could have ,so far, have been string Beans. I usually have applesauce right after dinner and also have my green portion with lunch or dinner. I looked for some grapes or cantaloupe at the super market, but they did not look so good.

  13. Yesterday I saw a post by an unbanded poster that was a list of will and will nots. It was very good. Things like I will not walk in a room and see if I ma the fattest girl there. I searched and can't find it. Anyone active in it and send the link? Thanks
  14. I was given permission to try wraps! Woo Hoo bread like substance! I bought Thomas' Whole wheat med. wrap. I knwo they can be very carby and high calorie. Does anyone have a "swear by" wrap brand or flavor? I have to calm down I had two wraps today!! Don't want to add extra calories with the wrap, but I am off the Protein supplements since I am eating well. (Maybe too well LOL) Tip- I went to Applebee's last nite and they don't have chicken/turkey burgers, BUT you can order a grilled chicken sandwich any way a burger is offered. So I had a Quesadilla Burger but w/ the grilled chicken in it.

    Drinking while eating

    I thought I would never be able to do that part well enough. I am doing fine with it. I was someone who would not eat if I did not have a drink. Once at a restaurant I let my meal go cold and untouched b/c the server was so slow in bringing the drinks. I made them take it off the bill BTW. That's how bad my drink/eat/drink habit was. They told me it is MOST important to wait the 1/2 hour after. So, I drink before (Not ideal I know) and then wait until after. I had a problem at Applebee's yesterday with waiting, but had no PBing, just was hungry quickly b/c I let it wash down. I can't have the drink in front of me or I cave or do it w/o thinking. It was that 'mindless' eating that got me to almost 300 lbs. So, I keep the liquid off the table 99% of the time. Good LUCK.
  16. I had SIL in my Belly Button. Awesome. My Doc trained w/ the doc who started this so I was very confident about him and the procedure. My port is to the right and I can feel it if I look for it. My restriction comes and goes. I have had 1 fill and they skipped the last fill so I would not be too tight.. My fill is for January 7th, 2010. With my SIL I am getting ready for a bikini. LOL
  17. I went today for my second fill and did not get mine either! I lost 7 pounds in 4 weeks and the PA did not want me to be too tight.

  19. I have been on solids , sort of, for about a month now. I am not sure what and how much I should be having. If I have three -1/2 cup meals per day, does that mean the whole meal -Protein and veggie- should only be a 1/2 cup? I am very confused. When I email nut. all I get back is eat 1/2 cup meal 3 times a day and nothing else. I get that it should be majority protein. I asked about calories and nut. said no calorie counting, just eat 3 1/2 cup meals. She is annoying me. LOL I have had 1 fill and have some restriction, but by 5 pm I am famished and have been having protein snack, like cheese. Any advice? I know when I have some solid food I stay satisfied longer, but getting tired of dark meat chicken 2 x a day! Thanks

    Solids....Now what?

    Thanks Mini. My doc and nutritionist are dead set on 3 meals ONLY. It drives me nuts. I have very long days, as we all do. I am up around 5:30 and go to bed at 11. How the heck can I eat that little over all those hours? I am hungry all the time. Some is head hunger, but a lot is growling tummy, headache hungry. Some days are worse than others though. I will see PA this week.

    A little confused

    I am at a bit of a stand still too. My friend re-joined WW the week I had my first fill and we have been losing about the same. I am still 'ahead' because of the liquids and mushies, but it is annoying hearing how we are losing at same pace. I know I am eating way less than she is b/c I too went to WW a million times and know what I would be eating there.
  23. I take 2 sennocot every day or else I can't go at all. Doc want s me to use Miralax if it is really bad, but the pharmacist said it is VERY strong. As a teacher, I can't leave the classroom at will, so I need a gentle laxative. One week it was really bad and I used the Miralax on Friday night. It sure was strong and did the trick.
