    baseball lump at port?

If something was left in your stomach it would be way infected by now and probably green. It might be scar tissue or something near your port.

    Preventing erosion

First of all there is stomach erosion and band erosion. To prevent stomach erosion dont consume tons of alhocol or spicy food make sure not to get large fills at a time or too close together. After a fill or pb episode make sure to follow your doctors orders like liquids for a few days etc. Dont get over filled that can cause acid reflux. Me personally i take a tums a day at night to help prevent stomach erosion whih i already had
  4. Yea I remember speaking a few times before. I changed my name too it used to be Jenkins150. My name is as it is because alien means foreigner in Korean. Since I am in Korea it seemed to fit. Have fun with Dr Kang, I am at his hospital right now recovering from my surgery he told me he would be visiting China but I wasnt aware it was to see you. Take care :)

Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift Tips

Thanks Sue! Yes I am not planning much time off work but if i need to I do have more sick days just trying to avoid using them. Luckily I will be at the hospital a minimum of 3 days and might stay 5 just in case. I will see how I feel. I will update my blog as soon as I get my vision back ( it goes really weird after surgeries). Thankfully I can do it from my hospital bed thanks to my phone

    how much should you lose?

Weight loss can be slow with bandsters who have a low BMI however I started with a BMI of 33 ( but didnt do a pre op diet). After I was banded I lost 20 lbs in my first post op month. Within 4 months I had lost about 55 lbs. It is the last 15 pounds that are killing me, not the first. Don't worry if you don't lost a lot before being banded. As long as you follow your doctors orders, have a good diet and exercise you will lose your weight. Also don't be discouraged if you weight loss is slow. We all lose differently but get the end result that we are hoping for. You can do this

    Do the fill's hurt

even though I have had a ton of surgeries I am still a big baby when it comes to pain and needles. I used to get my doc to freeze my stomach with litocan before a fill because I thought it would hurt so much. One time he got me to try it without freezing and the fill actually felt better without freezing! It didn't hurt at all! Don't worry, it is as easy as pie

    Anyone have unsupportive family members?

I am so sorry your mom is being so hard are you. Would she rather you have more serious medical problems because your not at a healthy weight etc? Your lucky at least to have a support inlaw family. My situation is not exactly the same but might be in the future. See I live half way across the world from my family. It was supposed to be a year away that has turned into a few more years. I had the surgery in Korea and never told my family back home. I knew they would protest because they didn't know how heavy I actually was, would be afraid because I wasn't home, would think it wasnt necessary for the surgery and wouldn't want their "baby" ( I was 24) to have a very serious surgery. I have done this entire journey alone because I didn't even tell my friends here. Though it was somewhat a challenge it made me stronger and more independent. I was able to do everything even the recovery without anyones help. Though not everyone thinks they are strong enough to do that I know you can be strong enough if you try. Don't let your mothers negativity bother you. Once you get the surgery and lose weight, she might come around and see it was a good thing to get done. You are doing this for your health not for anything [or anyone] else. I hope my family will be like your in-laws when I finally tell them the truth

What Size Band Do You Have?

It sounds like you have the lap band ap large band which is 14cc I have the lapband ap small band ( 10cc). There are tons of bands other then lapband and realize. I had the SAG band before with 10cc in it ( 11cc band) and barely had restriction. Now with this band (different shape etc) I have more restriction and I only have 6cc in it right now. Good luck on your journey :smile2:
  15. Wow your so lucky! I have sick days but basically have to be dying to get time off. After a month you will be right back to normal. I went back to work day 2 post op and was horseback riding again a week after surgery. You are going to blow people away when you go back to work! Good luck

    Constipation?

I am always looking for something to take to help with constipation. I will have to see if I can find those items here in Korea. It is a little harder to get many qestern products so I always try more natural ways like certain foods in my diet etc. i know this is a common problem for many bandsters :S Stuck Grrrrrr!

    band coming out

I am sorry that your stomach has eroded. I know the feeling. Do you know how bad your erosion is? Erosion can happen sometimes and don't worry I am sure you will be fine. The surgery isn't complicated and maybe after your stomach heals you can get the band again. I had erosion after only 4 months but the erosion was very small. After a few months I was able to get the band again. If you have any questions feel free to ask me

    Vacation

I have never had a fill taken out for vacation. That just seems bad because it can bring back your old eating habits. No one knows about ym surgery and I was able to go back packing for 10 days with some friends and survive fine with a 10cc fill in my 11cc band.

Did you have Lipo w/ TT?

Though it might make sense that removing 6 or 9 or __lbs of skin or fat ( from lipo) would result in a change in the scale it is not however always true. I have had over 15 pounds of fat removed by lipo but I didn't lose 15 pounds on the scale. My doc always warns me to not be disappointed when my scale doesn't change much.

    Vegetarian Needs Advice

Hi Though I am not a full veg like you, I try to make my diet as animal free as possible. Having said that I live in Korea making it almost impossible to cut out all animal parts etc. Losing weight with the band can however be possible for you. Look up recipes and stuff that consist of animal free products and use them after being banded. To be honest many bandsters cant eat many animal products like eggs, meat etc. Therefore some people almost each like a veg. A problem that might be for you is that sometimes bandsters cant eat many carbs like rice bread etc. However everyone is different. I try to list recipes on my blog for bandsters of all kinds ( veg, vegan, carnivore etc) on my blog. If you want to read the experience of a veg trying to survive in Korea then check it out. If you want some advice on some good recipes that will suit your needs and the band please let me know

Did you have Lipo w/ TT?

I am scheduled to have a tummy tuck, lipo and breast lift in less than 2 weeks. I can't tell you how it will be after the surgery yet but will keep everyone posted on my blog (link below). My tummy tuck won't be as extreme as other as I am only having a hip to hip incision and my muscles won't be touched. I have had lipo before and it was easy a pie. Hopefully the tummy tuck won't be too hard either. I will try to post on here again after my surgery.

    Flying to Japan

Flying and eating shouldnt be a problem. I live in Korea and fly often sometimes long flights sometimes short flights. When I had 10cc in my 11cc band I had no problem eating on the plane. I ate chicken, fruit and nuts without getting stuck. However I did eat smaller portions and chew more then usual just to make sure. Some people can be tigher then usual when flying but I have been ok so far. You might feel a little sore around your band area if you have really good restriction. The morning after my longest flight my stomach just felt like I had a good ab work out the day before but never had any problems eating. Also countries in Asia do have Lap Band doctors and they are usually more than willing to help any international patients if you have any problems ie stuck too much and need an unfill. I have never had an unfill before flying either. Hope this helps and have fun in Japan

    Tummy Tuck

My band doctor is also my plastic doc. He has some tummy tucks on other banded patients and there have never been any problems. I am getting a tummy tuck next month and also getting my port moved so it doesn't stick out so much. Maybe talk to your band doc about the tummy tuck.
