  1. Had surgery on 9/4/06 and my last fill was 11/14/06... I'm about 2.5 in a 4cc band.. Self Pay..

My band has always been tight in the morning.. usually Soup for lunch.. then maybe a salad, health choice dinner... etc.. About 3 days ago I started getting acid reflux around lunch time and i have not eating anything.. Drink Water too fast.. ends up coming back up... cant eat anyting mushie, not even anything cold.. has to be hot.. Never had this problem.. getting scared maybe slippage.. Hope you got a picture of what is going on. .I seem to ramble on and on and on.. Thanks for reading and any info would be great.!!

    Thanks

    Stephanie

  2. Sorry guys I have been horrible about checking in these past few weeks... I'm down 4lbs since the last time I checked in..

I had been at a stand still a few weeks ago and got another fill last week.. OMG!! started with 2.25 in my 4cc band on first fill.. He put in another .5 with fluro and the barrium went down okay.. On the way home I took about 2 sips of warm water.. That is when the pain started.. By the time I pulled into my driveway I couldnt even swallow my own spit and the pain was so bad I was crying.. Called the Dr's office and my husband had to drive me right back for and unfill of .25 ... I am still trying to talk myself into waiting another week to see if I need more of an unfill.. This past week has been pure hell!!! I can only drink hot tea in the morning and maybe maybe by 3pm I can have a few bites of soup.. as for supper I'm finally able to eat a little something.. I'm just frustrated and tired of haveing that golf ball pain everyday.. The dr said I'm just sensitive and to give it another week.. but YIKES!!! On the positive side I love the weight loss!! Just wanted to share my frustrations.. Thanks for letting me vent!!

Hope everyone has a wonderfull Turkey Day!! I am hoping I can at least taste something...

  3. I want to share this with all of you guys.. Yesterday at Walmart shopping in the salad, fruit, veggie section I ran across these Bolthouse farms drinks.. The one I bought "Perfectly Protein" 15.2 oz bottle with 19g of Protein, 160 calories per serving, 3 fat, and absolutely WONDERDFUL!!! Taste like a piece of pumpkin pie in a bottle!!! I just want to drink the whole bottle and run to walmart and buy MORE MORE MORE!! which I will on my way home from the DR. :)

I have a hard time getting all of the protein and this is a little help that taste great!!

Hope you all enjoy as much as I do!!

  4. Hi Guys sorry I missed last weeks weigh in.. I remember it being 208.2 with a total of .8 for 2 weeks.. Then last Tuesday I took a pretty nasty fall while delivering a certified letter to the door.. Twisted my right ankle nicely and brused up my left knee.. The only thing that hurts the worst is my pride.. OMG I hope no one saw me BIT THE DIRT. As of today I weight 206.. YEA!! sitting on my butt all week and lost 2.2 lbs.. Go figure!!! So my running total for the challenge is 3 lbs!!

  6. Hey Virginia I just had my first fill yesterday.. I was very nervious considering I dont like needles.. My dr had me lay on the table with a pillow in the small of my back to help him find the port easier.. He then gave me a shot to numb the area (only a slight prick), the next shot was the fill which I didnt feel at all... after that I stood in the xray machine a sipped the barium and got to watch the Fluid go into the pouch and spurt thru the band into the stomach.. Looked like a smoke cloud.. LOL really neat to watch!!

    Good Luck!!

    Stephanie

  7. Well I guess it is my fault for not checking the forum since last week!! Would have loved to compete in the Christmas Challenge!! Good luck to all!!

Just wanted to report that I survived my first fill today.. Its a big step for someone who isnt fond of needles!! YIKES!

I think he said he put 2.25cc or 2.5cc in my 4cc band!!

I could eat anything with no problems and not to mention that I gained back a couple of lbs!! GGRRRRR

Any Hoo!!! Good luck to all and I'll be cheering for you!!

  8. I work in a clinic and all of the bending and stooping yesterday and just grabbing charts I injured myself. I called and the nurse told me I either pulled a stitch or popped a stitch on my port. I don't know if this will change your mind. I have my post-op today and I don't think I will go back until Monday. I am going to be asking my doc for a note for specific light duty.

    Good luck to you Steph.:bandit

    Erin

I wish I could go back only on light duty!! In my craft we have no light duty unless we were hurt on the job.. All or nothing in the Postal Service!!

I'll try and talk to my station manager and see if we could possibly make some arrangements.. aka get on my knees and beg for mercy!! LOL

Thanks Erin!! Good luch on getting better and let me know what the doc says..

  9. want2lose: I plan on calling Monday if the pain hasnt let up... When Im not moving around as much it does not hurt..

When I first checked it on my day of surgery I told them I was a mail carrier and Gave me instructions not to lift anything over 35lbs for 2 weeks.. *SIGH* Other than this I LOVE MY BAND!!

Today is my off day.. then 3 more days untill my next off day.. I can make it!!! heheheh I have too!!

  10. I really don't think you should be lifting any packages yet. You should absolutely wait 6 weeks to lift anything heavy. You may have pulled a muscle from lifting. Not a good idea. You should have some help with you until your feeling 100%. The first 6 weeks is about taking care of yourself. Absolutely, no lifting.

Call your doctor and just let him know that your back to work in that type of capacity. Take care of yourself.

I would love to be able to take off work longer but I just dont have anymore leave time to take off.. and I need to get paid if ya know what I mean!! I have not had any really heavy packages here lately .. I just didnt realize how many times a day I have to bend over for something.. YIKES!! I have been trying to take it easy.. Just need other Sept Bandsters input on things to see if I need to go to the local ER or something.... I'm prob just paranoid... :sick

    Thanks!!

    Steph

  11. Okay guys I need some help... I was banded on Sept 4th...

Just went back to work last Friday back on my delivery route (I am a rural carrier for the USPS).. I was off of my route for almost 3 weeks due to the physical requirements of my job and I didnt want to mess anything up.. Here for the past 3-4 days I have had this really bad pain on my left side right by my rib cage.. not the port.. above the port to my left.. I'm thinking where the band is... Feels like a pulled muscle.. Have not had any problems eating or drinking no pb, burps, nothing but the pain.. I am SO FREAKED OUT!!! When I push around nothing hurts to the touch!!! Yikes guys help.. I am a self pay and can not afford another if I slipped..

  12. Hey Veronda!!

I too was scared of going to Mexico!!! Before I made my decisoin I did a lot of research on the internet and ended up going to Dr Ortiz in TJ because of experience.. My insurance told me to gain about 50lbs then they "might" cover the surgery.. I'm discusted with myself now!! Why on earth would I want to gain more weight!!! Cost was a little over 9K for the surgery, air, shopping money, food for me (DH came with)

As for fills here in Texas.. Look at www.fillusa.com .. Dr Ortiz was one of the co-founders!!! List of centers across the USA who will take Mexico Bands!! I have no regretts for paying myself!!

Best of Luck with your decision!!!

  13. Just got back from Nashville for my first post-op appointment. He did go ahead and give me the fill. He asked me if I was able to chug Water, I said I was able to drink as much and as fast as I wanted, and so he said it was time to do a fill.

Congratz MCW on your first fill!!

I am ready for also but have to wait 7 weeks post op...:think

Although I can not eat as much as I use too I am able to eat what I want and drink Water pretty fast..

Almost 3 weeks down and only 4 more to go!!! :clap2:

    What band do you have?

How much of a fill did you get?
