  1. Congratulations Charity! You must be so happy!!
  2. Hi Katldy, I just wanted to say congratulations on setting a date!! What a great step you're taking to improved health. I'm still pre-op so can't really help alleviate her fears, but from everything I've read on both this board and OH, people do great in Mexico!
  3. My Kaiser program is different from the others that I've read. At orientation everyone is given a 1200 calorie a day diet to follow, to help us get to our pre-surgery goal weight. The recommendations are lower carb than most people coming into the program, but some carbs are allowed. Other than that, there are no liquid diets or anything else. Last meal by 6pm the night before, eat light for the last few days. I think the difference is that we have to lose weight to get a surgery date, while for others, the two week (or whatever length of time) pre-op diet takes care of getting some pounds off.
  4. Pat, Robin said the same thing today. My surgery is Monday so I'll advance to Stage 2 on Friday. Surgery day is day zero. Pat, I bet you wake up feeling a little better tomorrow. Coco, so great to meet you and John today. Duh!! Why didn't we have a camera and get our pic taken together? I went to work, then got a call saying that Dr. Im is out this week and they rescheduled my pre-op history with Dr. Park for 4:30 today. That made 4x at Kaiser since Tuesday. I think I'm done now! At least now I'm ready to go. I hardly slept last night, so I'm exhausted now and can't wait to relax and sleep. John, what happened in your noon meeting today? Candra, congrats on finally feeling your band, in a good way! Maria, it looks like you're doing terrific and you're rocking that band. Way to go. Hey Mo, the contra costa women said to tell you hello. That's all my brain can hold for now... sweet dreams everyone PS.. Nicole, I'm holding you and your family in my prayers.

    Feeling down....

Hi Sarah, I wanted to come give you a hug. How you're feeling sounds completely reasonable to me. I don't know how we'll feel afterwards, because my Sleeve is 10 days before yours. I do know that when I'm eating poorly, I feel really unattractive. I'm so tired of yoyo dieting. I know that once the weight starts coming off and I want to move and exercise more, I'll feel better about myself and have more self-confidence. We're not having this surgery because of great eating habits. It's not surprising to want to slip back into old habits as surgery gets closer. All of this is a scary process, regardless of how exciting. I have to be at my pre-surgery goal weight on the 8th or they'll cancel my surgery and send me home. For me that's a great incentive to just keep eating healthy. Keep posting about how you're feeling. I know everyone can relate.
  7. Twobluecats, this is a great report to read. My program doesn't allow protein shakes or supplements but wants us to get all of our protein requirements from food. I'd love to read about what you eat over the course of a day or two. Do you post your food anywhere?

    Judy's After Photos

Judy, you look terrific! Work out clothes are good! :laugh0:
  9. Suzanne and Rosebud, Thank you for posting these awesome results. Congratulations to you both. I'm 59 and having the sleeve in 10 days. I hope to see great results too!
  10. I'm so glad you broke that stall Lucy!
  11. Nicole, I'm keeping you and your family close in my thoughts. I hope that you all get through today. Please take care of yourself today and cry as much as you need. Piatti's had good food in Yountville. That was 10 years ago before they exanded. We used to go there for the best lightly fried calamari around. That fried word doesn't work for you anymore, but for the others, yum. I'm space brained. Can't remember what anyone else wrote. Last night watching Biggest Loser, it occured to me that my surgery is a week from Monday. Holy freakin Moly! I hadn't put that together yet. Last night at 1:30 I was still wide wide wide awake. Then at 5:30 when the alarm went off.... dead tired. I just told myself I'd be able to sleep alot in a week. I'd better get my act together to go meet coco and john. Talk later...
  12. Good morning Bambi, I'm thinking about you and sending you healing energy. I hope things went ok for you. Post when you're able to let us know how you're doing please. :crying:
  13. Amy, I'm so glad you're on the other side. From what I've read, it will keep getting better and better now. Congratulations!
  14. Nicole and John, See you in class tomorrow! Surgery date - February 8th with Dr. Im. Dr. Baggs wasn't available until mid-March. I'm happy with my decision!
  15. Tamra, please make sure you get to the Wednesday night support groups. You're going to do great if you can stay focused on keeping your Band happy. I've been reading and re-reading the food stages so that when surgery gets here, I'll know exactly what I can eat. I'm not seeing french fries anywhere on the list of acceptable foods. For me, being a compulsive eater, what I've learned is that if I open the door a crack (like 1 french fry), tomorrow it will be two. The only way for me to keep the food in it's rightful place is to not go there. I was a vegan for 9 years not too long ago. During that 9 years I never had a bite of sugar. I knew that 1 bite and I'd be face down in a chocolate cake. So please try to get rid of those thoughts of "when can I have". They won't do anything to help you achieve your goal of being a healthy, slim woman.
  16. Nicole, I'm so sorry to read about this tragedy in your family. I can't imagine the pain and shock you're all feeling right now. Please try to step away from the food and call a friend instead. Talk it out. Cry, scream and talk about about it. Stuffing it down with food will only harm yourself. Baby Aud needs you to be present with her as people around her are freaking out. Keep a safe space for the two of you. Sending hugs your way.
  17. Thanks Lebyvr! I'm hoping I don't have scar tissue as it was only a few months ago.
  18. Thanks for sharing those images. I love to see the new Sleeve, 5 year Sleeve and normal stomach all side by side for comparison. How much does a normal "no surgery" stomach hold?
  19. Yes, please post a review. I'd love to know if the Sleeve is included. There's a few books out now that are for RNY and Band, but not Sleeve.
  20. Bernadette, ditto on what Cajun said. I wouldn't wait. Get yourself taken care of. Let us know how you're doing please. Barbara, how are you doing this morning? I'm sending healing thoughts to you both this morning.
  21. Yes, I'm the same Lee! There was a bunch of stuff over at ObesityHelp about sending messages to facebook etc, so I changed my name to Bella everywhere. My son calls me Bella. Pat, it's so wonderful to see you up and about. Keep walking!

    Calorie Counter

Hello, I've tried Sparkpeople, DailyPlate, Fitday.com. Tried them all but then Tiffy recommended Myfitnesspal.com and I switched to that. I think it's the best of the bunch. Easy to use, no ads, all of the Protein is already in there. Much less cumbersome than any of the others.
  23. Tamra, go to that natural food store on Monument and ask for a Homeopathic remedy called Carbo Vegetabilis. It comes in a very small tube and is filled with tiny little balls that look like candy. Pop 5 under your tongue and let them dissolve. After my gallbladder surgery, that's all I needed. You can take them 3x a day or whenever the gas pain starts. I was told I could put some in my drinking water and sip it all day. I just popped a few if my shoulder started to twinge and whala... pain gone! Pat, I'm so happy to hear that you're home and everything went well. Ditto what Candra said, post when you can. Check out my signature line. Nicole, I'm hoping, praying to be in that class with you and John on Thursday!
  24. Dear Pat, wishing you well this morning. You go girl!
