  1. Thanks for all the advice! I had a pretty good stuck over the weekend. I tried but was unable to get rid of it. I know it is moving cause i feel relief for a few minutes but then it hits again. OUCH!! I really need to remember the needs of my budy!
  2. I know, slow down take smaller bites and eat the right stuff so you dont get stuck. Well sometimes I forget, I am starting to get more and more restriction and it takes this old dog some time to learn. When I do get stuck though I cant seem to get the offending object out. I try to burp it up but can never get it to the top. I have on occasion got a lot of phlegm up, but never the offender. So all you PB pro's its time to step up and help a newb out. How the heck do I get it up????? The stuck object that is!:laugh::thumbup::frown:
  3. When i was in the pre-op phase and doing allot of research I came across a thread where some one was talking about "getting it" they now understood how they were suppose to eat. They went on to say they were getting stuck on food and just not having a good time with eating. Well the conclusion was they were taking to big of bites. They said the bites that they now have to take were small, dime size small. I dont know why but that is one thing that has stuck with me. Maybe try small bites of protein and chew it REALLY well. Good luck to you, Waynooo
  4. Awesome inspiring story! Thanks for the lift this AM. Waynooo

  6. Yes Mimi, this is a normal reaction. There have been a few posts discussing this and the reason why. Let me see if i can find one for you.
  7. That would be some thing that would definitely interest me. I have recently started going to the gym, my biggest hang up is i am not sure what kind of work out I should be doing. So, yes a thumbs up.
  8. I just wanted to tell you that you are truly a remarkably strong woman! Go get your dreams and heal yourself. Oh, and one more thing. Thanks! For getting that song stuck in my brain!!
  9. Hey, I am in Az with BCBS admin by AmeriBen. I went with true results. The insurance did not take but a couple days to approve. How ever, the Scottsdale oofice told me they sent off the insurance info, which they did, but it gets sent to another office back east where they review it very thoroughly. That took several weeks. You can contact your insurance and they will give you the number to their approval department. Contact them and they will tell you if they even have it yet and if so at what point in the process is. Hope this helps, Wayne
  10. Eyd, thats the thing with this surgery, it requires a lot of after care. I find it easier to get the time off for fills now that my supervisor knows. If something goes wrong or any complications it is much easier to communicate with each other. Just a thought for you.
  11. It will pass or you will PB (productive Burp) it up.
  12. When you get stuck your body produces a thick saliva to try and unblock the offending object. That is the slimming.
  13. Congrats! I too love my band, it has given me a renewed since of being.
  14. Hello Froggie, Doing good. I had fill #4 Friday. The doc informed me i am no longer Morbidly obese! Yea! 50lbs down since January but more importantly I am starting to see glimpses of my old self. The confidence that had left is slowly returning. I am alot more active and my kids really appreciate it. I have a total of 6.1 cc's and feel a bit restricted, which by the way SUCKS! I hate eating with the family and abrouptly having to stop in the middle of an awesome meal. I guess that is what got me to where I am in the first place. Some measurements, 6 inches lost around my waist and 3 inches lost around my neck, down 2 pant sizes and 1 shirt size. Lets hear from some of the others. If you need some help then we are here for you, if you can lend a hand to one of us then lets be that rock!!!!! Wayno
  15. You will be just fine. Sounds like you have already began to heal. Thanks for the kind words on my weight loss. I still have a long way to go.
  16. I dont know what to say besides that there is a huge Mental side to weight loss. You have touched it and tackled it. The start is to identify it, then to heal from it, then to let it go. You sound like a very strong women you can handle it just as you did with the physical side to it. Good luck!
  17. Yes, Blue cross administered by AmeriBen does @ 80%. Some of the other ones dont. open enrollment is nov this year, do your home work.
  18. That took some guts my man. Your not alone with not having any male friends, I have my child hood friends that live 500 miles away but none around town to hang out with. I wouldn't be to worried about, heck when i do something with my Bro in law or Father in law, I wish my wife was there to share the experience anyway. Your emotion tend to change the older you get. So what, things that are suppose to tear you up tear you up. It happens.............
  19. I am a very satisfied customer. Dr. Nimurul and his staff are very professional. Dr. Skinner does the fills and she is dead on every time! I would highly recommend them.
  20. Thanks for the reply's, it was really quit emotional when I finished the trip. I had to suck it cause of all the boys but on the inside I was all tore up!
  21. I was banded 04/09/2010, Begining weight in Jabuary was 325ls. Current weight as of today 266. So woth my stats out of the way I wanted to share with you all my NSV. About three weeks ago my 13 year old son who is a senior patrol leader for his scout troop tells me he is going on a 20 mile hike in three weeks. I start to thinking and decide what the heck lets try it! Well I left Thursday through some of the roughest country in the Arizona mountains, 7 miles a day with a 40lb back pack my 10 year old son, my 13 year old son, 17 other scouts, and two other leaders. We finished the trip yesterday at 2pm, what an experience. I want to thank the LAP-BAND® for helping me take my life back. If I hadnt made the decision to get teh LAP-BAND® I would have waived to my boys as they went on this awesome journey, instead I got to share it with them! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Here are a couple pics.
  22. AWESOME! Congrats to you, I too have had to do the walk of shame at Knotts Berry farm in So Cal. Not fun, one of my goals is to be able to comfortably ride all the rides. Congrats again!
  23. I went in to the surgery with a mild sore throat. The week after I had a horrible swollen soar throat. When i swallowed it felt as though something in my throat was moving back and forth. I believe the reason it got worse after the surgery is from the tube they put in your throat for anastisia (oops spelled that one so wrong the spell check wouldn't even pick it up).
  24. You know what I do when I am about to have a snack attack? Have a snack. I surely don't over do it like I used to, but i have a snack if i want one. This way i don't go on an all out binge some day when I crack. good luck
