    Hello Everyone!

Naddine, sorry you have been treated this way. I would suggest calling your surgeon and lying it all out for him. If he still is unresponsive to your needs then definitely find a new doc for fills and support. You should be able to find a bunch in your area. I would also suggest scouring this board for information. It seams that no matter what phase of the process i have been in their are numerous posts that pertain to me. If you hit the "NEW POSTS" button on top it will display all the new posts on the entire board since your last visit. Then just read, read, and read some more. You can and will succeed with the proper knowledge. The last thing, DONT be afraid to ask questions. You will get good answers, maybe not what you want to hear but it will for the most part be what you need to do to be successful! Good luck on your journey, Waynooo:thumbup:

I'm so sick of Nay sayers

Count me as a "would do it over again in a heart beat". I cant tell its even there, except when i eat to fast, or dont chew enough, then it definitely lets me know its there.

    This CANNOT be happening!!!!

Same thing happened to me. Two days before had a pretty good sore throat that developed into a cough. I was so stressed! Went to my primary care physician to get a release, had to cause I made a stink about it. Day of surgery the only one that was concerned with it was the anesthesiologist, checked to make sure the lungs were O.K. and no fever. He gave the thumbs up and off we went. Which was good cause its a four hour drive for me.
  7. REVERSIBLE! the main reason, the second is it seems that gastric bypass is so intrusive. They reroute your intestines and make you a little tummy. I am very happy and satisfied with my choice. Armed with the knowledge that it was not something that will just happen and that I have to contribute to the weight loss has helped me become a better person. I am forced to make better food choices or I wont lose. I am also exercising and feel like a new man. The best of luck in your decision, to me it was a no brainer!

I got a little to big for my pants Tuesday. I was walking at A pretty good pace when i met up with my mom and 9 year old niece. The pace slowed a bit so I challenged my niece to a race to the next lite poll. I had no clue the little stinker could run that fast!! I turned up the heat and next thing you know whamo, sharp pain shooting up my hamstring in to my groin and butt! I finished the walk, about 1/4 mile left, went home and took a muscle relaxer and 800mg IBU. I only walked a mile last night, a slow mile at that. I am feeling significantly better today so i will try to pick it up tonight and try for a fast paced 2 mile walk.

    Forbidden Foods

I started to make a list of all the places I wanted to eat before the surgery. But to be honest with you, the closer it got and the more I studied on the surgery I realized that I would not have to give these foods up. I would no longer be eating the quantities of them but I could still eat them. With that knowledge I was able to scale back. You are on an amazing journey, good luck to you!

I'll join if you don't mind. A couple weeks ago I started walking. A few times last week I did 2.5 in the morning and 1.5 in the eve. It kinda wore me out but dang did i feel good! This morning I did a good brisk 30 min walk, i took a new route so i am not sure how far it was yet. My goal is to incorporate some sit ups and push ups in to the routine.

    Not happy~

Your not doing anything wrong. It takes time. In the 2 weeks following surgery I was committed to get below 280lbs. I tried and tried to no avail. Well i just hit 279.5 this morning 2 months after my surgery. This past week it seems like all of a sudden the weight has started to come off at a noticeable rate. Hang in there it will come:thumbup:
  18. Tom, I haven't thrown up yet. I have only been banded since 4/9/10 though. There has been no nausea either, the doc prescribed me some anti nausea meds for after surgery but didn't need them. The pain from being stuck, maybe a 5, but with every thing, people are different. Hope this helps, Wayne
  19. Just curious? How do you know how hot it is in a monkeys bahookey??? :leaving:

  20. Morning Olympia, will you do me a favor? Turn down the heat in the Valley its getting us hot up here!

    First Fill...

Morning Heather, I would call the doctors office and get there instructions. With that said, my doc requires no food 4 hours prior and no drink 30 min prior. Then its full liquids for 1-3 days then mushies for a day then normal. Hope this helps and good luck!

  23. Hi Sue, The weight loss has stalled! No it hasnt stalled, it has just stopped! The fills arent coming fast enough thats for sure. I am staying positive cause i know in just a few short months i'll be puking and burping and choking on a tea spoon, I cant weight! <<< Yes that was a pun. How about you? Still friends with the scale?

  24. Morning April Bandsters! I was banded on the 9th of April. Had my first fill four days ago. All went real smooth, found the port on the first try. She added 1.5 to the 1cc that was already there. ZERO restriction, but that is expected for the first few fills. I started a good work out routine last night that should get things kicked into gear. When they filled my they measured my waist and neck, 1.5" lost from my neck and 3" from my waist! Feels good. I really hope to get over this stall though, the scale hasnt moved for a couple of weeks. Take care, Wayno
