  1. Yes that smell is horrible! Never knew it was yeast..good info.
  2. I've had this problem for years. What i do is put an over the counter antibiotic in my bellybutton.. after a few days it clears up...Ive never known why but anytime I try to clean it out with anything other than water in the shower it happens...if I use my finger or qtip it will happen...trust me..put some OTC antibiotic in it and you will be fine.
  3. yay! I have restriction! This is great. I went to mushys today and I can feel it. Finally the wait is over for me to realize that I did have this surgery..lol
  4. I went today and they did give me .5cc's. I swallowed the Water just fine. I really do think the problem was I forgot to sip but this will do for now. Thanks for the reassurance!
  5. Lapbandtalk does that count?...this is fun!
  6. Sounds familiar! Also, sounds like good advice. Have a great trip. Sounds like you have things together so you will look HOT. You go girl.
  7. I never thought about it Steelergirl but I have heard in the past that it is carbs so I guess that would hender the weight loss even more. Everything I eat is low/no carb. I know what it does to me to include it. So it would make sense that alcohol would be the same. Thanks! As far as needing help, that's why I was asking here b/c I never needed alcohol before surgery. I would drink often but not addicted or anything. Now that I have no food to rely on I think I needed a cruch. I mainly wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else.
  8. if you have the original wii fit..it's 19.99 for the extra disk...the same board is used
  9. I was filled last week. It was too tight. I went to the waiting room and had to drink water. I think I might have gulped it. I couldn't handle the pain. I got so freaked out by the pain in my chest. I told them I thought it was too tight. They had added 2cc's. So I went back and he took out 1cc. Now I think it is too loose. I made an appointment for this coming week. My question is...I can eat whatever I want. I can gulp water. I feel just like I did before my fill. Am I right to want them to put in another .5 cc's? I am so confused. I see other people post that they aren't restricted until several fills. Am I just expecting too much?
  10. I went on my lunch hour. I was fine. I had chicken broth all day and crystal lite. Then you have time at home to see if everything is OK or if you need a refill.
  11. I've been making deals with myself to help me through. I can drink today if I don't tomorrow etc.. Also, I have been cutting back a little at the time on how much I allow myself. I added an app on my ipod touch that is from myfitnesspal.com and I have been putting in everything I consume. It helps to see how many calories the alcohol uses up.
  12. Exactly, I guess I'm used to unwinding with something. Be it with food or with alcohol. I will have to learn a new way I'm just haven't found it yet.
  13. Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried buying a small amount so that I go longer in between. This seems to help with the frequency. I'm happy to hear I'm not alone with this.
  14. Thank you so much for your response! I also have a brother in the same boat. It is on both sides of my family. I guess not having food to rely on has brought this to a head. I have read a few post thanks to your suggestion. I hope the best for your family. I was a bit scared to post on here about this because some members expect you to follow dr's orders strictly and on this issue I am having a hard time.
  15. there are many words i don't like...being called a bi#@h..but i cant stop the world from using that word....shutup..etc...and i dont used them..i can't mandate that the world not us a word.... some people think you can be racist if you use certain words or even adjutives to describe someone and then use the word themselves...this topic infuriates me my son was called a cracker numerous times and nothing was done about it...he called a name back and was sepended for a day..rediculous..i fought the school and told them any form of racism should be punished not just the pc one's
  16. I never thought I drank too much until Lap Band. After quitting the alcohol before and after surgery, I found myself needing it. I can't seem to make it two days without drinking. I went through so much to have this surgery and don't want to blow it by wasting calories on alcohol. I lost 15 pounds the first week and haven't lost any since so I know this is affecting my weight loss. It has been 4 weeks since my surgery. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if there are any suggestions.

Surgery 12/16/09..these are the before pictures I actually wanted to take so I can show off later.
  18. im so glad i didn't see this post before i went there..i love love love dr enochs and his office. yes i did have to wait a day or so for a return call but i was informed of every move they were making. i personally feel like they return the most urgent calls first. i had a problem with my gp giving paper work and angelica helped me to worry them until they gave it up. after my surgery i had an allergic reaction and left a message for the nurse to call me back. it was late when i called and i received a return call at 6:45 at night to help me. it took me 3 months to get my paperwork done and of no fault of theirs. they were there with me every step of the way. i will be going for a checkup in 2 days and i hope nothing changes for me. good luck to you on this journey we have all taken on.
  19. I have BCBS NC and it took less than a day. After all the preop test were done and they had the results the dr's office told me one afternoon it was being sent in and by the next morning I was approved. From what I've read this is atypical. Good luck to you!
  20. I have read prob every thread on here and finally I find y'all! I was banded on 12/16 and have my first appt 1/5 but I don't think it is for a fill. I do fine most of the day then late afternoon/early evening I am starving. I didn't feel hungry until this week. I can't wait for a fill. I lost 15 pounds almost instantly but stopped this week. I have also been so tired. I got passed the 3 hour naps and returned to work but this is the latest I've been up since the surgery(10pm). I hope it gets better for all of us.
