    Fibromyalgia

I too have fibro and thought my pain would lessen as I lost weight. I have lost 80.5 lbs. total and my pain is sometimes worse then before. I think my pain is more due to the lack of weight on my frame now. Being I am large breasted and the weight loss has just made the pressure and pain in my neck, back and shoulders unbearable. I am going for a consultation at a plastic surgeon to see if breast reduction will help relieve this pain. In my case the pain did'nt get any better with my weight loss. Hope you have better luck

    Having trouble getting filled

I too have the problem with finding the port. You can clearly feel it under the skin. But found out last week that it had flipped upside down. The worst case possible. I will have to get it replaced, but I am hoping that I can lose a little more weight and with a little praying, the next fill he will find it ok, and reconsider replacing it. He drew a picture in my file so that it would be easier to find next time. Sick of getting stuck a lot everytime I get a fill, thank God that I don't need them often. Would love to know if anyone has ever had to have a port replacement.

WOW can't believe it's been that long since the last time I posted. I've been banded 5 months now. I feel pretty good. Got my 3rd fill today. I poke, yeah. First fill was 6-8 pokes with 1cc put in. Second fill was 5 pokes with .5cc put in. Third visit was no fill. Fourth was .6 cc fill. He could only pull back 1cc out of the 1.5 cc. I had. So I now have 1.6cc in my band. I am down about 40.5 pounds since day of surgery and about 55 since pre-op diet. Went from size 26 to a 20 pant size, floating big on my hips. eally happy with my result so far. Thank you to God and my family for my support. I have the greatest husband, he supports me in this band journey.

Doing great. Just having a little trouble going to the bathroom. But just had some success. YEAH.. Feel better now. Had my check up with Dr. Robinson. Everything looked great. On the way home stopped off at my PCP to get a EKG, of course it didn't look great. I was having pains in my left shoulder, back and chest. After an ambulance ride to the hospital and a stay, I was sent home with a dx of muscle sprain and slight dehydration. All is well right know. Just pain in my shoulder when I use it or lift.

I am now on day 8. Felling better and better each day. Showers are easier, bending is ok. Yesterday, my stomach was a little swollen, had trouble sitting straight in a chair. But I am doing ok today. I think it was because I scrubbed my 2 bathrooms and was bending alot. So I think that bothered my stomach. The hunger is getting better. No more gurgling in my belly. Up to 4 protien drinks, 5 oz. of water, 1 sugar free jello, 1 mug of broth per day. That seems to be satisfying me. Monday is my first post-op appt. with Dr. Robinson. Can't wait to see how I am doing officially. Maybe I can start mushies on monday, if not I am scheduled to start on Wednesday. I don't think 2 days would matter much. My incisions are healing. The little pokes hurt more than the big incisions. Wonder why? Well, feeling great. Down about 17 lbs, the last time I weighed myself (from the start of pre-op and post-op).:clap2:

  13. Awsome. I remember getting approved. It was so quick but felt like forever. I was just banded on the 18th and fell pretty good. Down 17 lbs so far, that's including preop diet. But have lost 10lbs. since the surgery. Good luck.
  14. Wowo I can't believe the surgery is over. Was a little dizzy and nauseas, but other than that, not bad. I went in at around 1:00 PM, was scheduled for 11:30 AM. Was getting nervous the longer it took. My husband siad I was in for about 2:00 hours, that was sedating me and waking up. Not bad. The couldn't find my hiatal hernia, so I didn't have to have that repaired. Good I guess. Stayed overnight in hospital. Came home on Thursday night around 6:00 PM. Just have a little tenderness in rib area. He made 6 incisions. I have picts, but still embarrased to show them. Will eventually, when I have some progress. I am losing about 1 pound a day. Have to stop weighing myself though, because one day I lose the other I gain. I have a lot of swelling in my belly. But is going down a bit. I can lay on my side and get up and down OK which I am happy about. Showers are a little funny, because of the hot water making me dizzy. Should put it cooler, so that's my fault. I am very hungry. Has anyone else been hungry. It's almost like I miss the chewing part. My stomach is always making funny gurgling noises. I feel like a baby, every time I eat soup broth or a protein drink, I move my bowels like a newborns. Very waterry and gasey. I had my LapBand put on at Brigham and Womens in Boston, MA by Dr. Robinson. Anyone else go there or have him? Love to hear if my progress is normal. Can't wait until mussies. I am sooo hungry.

Well it has been 3 days since my surgery on Wednesday. Not too bad pain wise. Was just nauseas the next day, but really just sore near my ribs. A little hungry though. Other than that surgery went well.
