  1. Thanks for the responce Bobbie. I don't have too many questions right now as I am just finishing up my 2nd month of my 3 month diet. I am sure I will have lots of questions once I get through all of the insurance hoops and have a date. I expect that will be sometime in Jan.

    The Neck

I think I have the clone of your 4 lines. I have been putting cream on them which helps temporarily. I hope it evens out with time. If not, I may have to treat myself to PS.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

I'd like to join.........Oh my gosh, what am I saying. I am 52 years old, 217 lbs, and have not even tried to run since I was 18. This is a very scary undertaking for me but I will do it! I started week one on my treadmill tonight. It was tough but I managed to finish it. Thank goodness for the handrails on both sides of the treadmill. I held on for dear life. LOL Needless to say, I was huffing, puffing and cursing but, I finished. This is probably the bravest undertaking I have made in decades. I am not certain I will ever be able to run 5k but I will finish, (even if I have to walk part way)

    I Finally saw the 2

    Woo Hoo! Congratualtions.
  6. It sounds like you need a bit of an unfill. Call your doctor.
  7. The insurance coordinator at your doctors office will guide you. They have experience will all types of insurance. You don't have to figure it out by yourself - they will be happy to help you.

    Tired and cold?

Talk to your doctor. Maybe a sleep study is in order. I have apenea and the symptoms you describe could be apnea.
  9. Wow Gloria! You are going to be one busy girl. I know it is a long drive for you but once you are finished with all of the appointments it will slow down. You weren't kidding when you said you were on the fast track. LOL. I'll catch up one day. Let me know if you are going to be at any of the support sessions - we can meet face to face then.

Congratulations on your weight loss. You look fantastic!
  11. Hi Annette, things are going great for me! I am ticking off my requirements and have managed to lose 23 pounds in the process. Yea me! It sounds like things are even better for you - surgery on Tuesday! If I don't talk to you before then please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Best of luck. Be sure to post afterword so we know that all went well. Jada and I are right behind you:w00t:

    Right Now... Honesty Sucks!!!

You go girl. Lose the weight that you want to. Start a savings account that is just for you. If you choose later on - consult a plastic surgeon. That is my plan and I am sharing it with you. I understand completely, I have a husband who loves me unconditionally and I am embarrassed in font of him. The hanging skin is a bummer.

    Day after the surgery...

You're doing great! You will be back to normal in no time. Best wishes.
  14. Hi Jada, It’s awesome that you are moving along so quickly. I am glad to hear that your tests went well. I know you were worried. I don’t know what Medicare requires. I am sure the insurance lady will keep you posted. Don’t worry if you need to do the psych evaluation. Like I said it was pretty easy, just long. I was disappointed at first about the 3 month diet but now I think it was a good thing. It has given me time to practice the banded eating techniques and get my self prepared. Eating without drinking has been tough for me. I have read a lot and have been watching the forums here. I have learned a lot and I know I am ready. I probably won’t have my surgery until sometime in January. But I am ok with that. I would like to use a week of vacation and right now I don’t have any left. I will have 4 weeks coming after the 1st of the year.

    Questions and things

I am planning on taking a week of vacation time. That way I don't have to answer to anybody. No questions, no answers, no white lies. Since I am on month 2 of my 3 month diet I have already started to lose weight. I had a couple of people notice and asked about it and I told them I am dieting. I don't plan on telling any co-workers. I am not close enough with them to tell them my personal business. Remember, who you tell is up to you.

    Who do I ask first?

I also have BCBS and have a 3 month supervised diet. Because I have PPO I did not have to go through my PCP. I went to a seminar first and told my PCP after I was sure that I wanted it. I did not need a referral. HMO is different. Each and every BCBS policy is different. It depends on what your company buys. My husband and I both have BCBS and they are different as far as barratries go. Mine has a 3 month diet requirement, his does not. Because mine is primary I need to do the diet. Call and ask for specifics on the policy your company has. Best of luck!

When will I be happy with my body?

I think it is human nature to want what we don't have. In other words, I think your desires are normal. Yes, you have come a very, very long way but you are normal and like the rest of us, want something more. My point is, I don't think any of us is ever completely happy with ourself. Work towards what you want with exercise and then go for the PS in four years. Meanwhile, don't let it get you down. Enjoy yourself at your current weight, enjoy your husband and enjoy your kids! By the way, you look absolutely fantastic and should be extremely proud! Best of luck to you.
  18. I just got back from my psychiatric appointment. That went well and was pretty simple. It was kind of long though, 2 hours! I spent a little over an hour taking a 567 question test (the computer kept count) and then ½ hour talking to the doctor. He gave me his seal of approval and sent me home. I guess now I have to wait until the diet is finished and they will submit to my insurance. It’s getting closer……………… Sandy
  19. Great news Jada! I am sure the weight loss will help with your cardio problems. I had Dr Rantis at the seminar and will have my surgery with him too. I am still doing the 3 month diet and will see the psychiatrist tomorrow. Best of luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!
  20. I'm in. I won't be banded until late Dec or early Jan but I may as well lose what I can until then.

    New Year, New You Challenge!

Woo Hoo! It was a 3 pound week!
  22. Annette, I’ll bet you are thrilled! Congratulations and best wishes. I sent my email to you via a private message. That way if you want to reach me you can. If you come up with a new thread title be sure to let me know. I have tried several different shakes to see which I like. Did they recommend anything or can you just pick what you like? I got a call from the insurance lady last week too. She must have been a busy girl. Anyway she wanted me to make my shrink appointment as I was close to being done with my 3 month diet. I told her I was confused because I would not be done until the end of Dec. She told me no that I would be done at the end of Nov. She told me that they have you make 4 appointments to be on the conservative side but that my insurance required 3 visits not 3 months. I must have misunderstood; I thought 3 months would mean 4 visits. She told me to keep the 4th appointment for the time being just in case I need it. I have my shrink appointment on Tuesday. I plan to stop by the office while I am there on Tuesday (the shrink is in the same building) to see what else I need to do. It does seem like they are keeping track of me. She knew about the diet appointments. I think I will stop by anyway just to satisfy my curiosity. The waiting will be over before you know it!

Is it me or my doctor!!!?????

Doctors are only people. They have the same faults an misconceptions as everyone else. We tend to think of them as some type of be all and know all. Not true. They have more specialized education then we do however, bariatric doctors have even more specialized education. Seek the opinion of a bariatric doctor and listen to yourself. You are the specialist on you.
