  1. Ok so I missed the actual goals- 25# and optional exercise 3x/wk? Im in! My starting weight is 190, with a fill scheduled tomorrow- hopefully it will help! Im excited to do this!
  2. I would use Hiatal hernia as the excuse since as you lose weight you may still have to have your gallbladder removed. Of course you could also use exploratory lap surgery for abd pain. AVOID SOMETHING THAT COULD STILL HAPPEN. Good luck!
  3. I can see mine and feel it. It is on my left side almost exactly on the side of my body. It does ride up under my ribs sometimes. I have to lay on my right side for a fill since it is so lateral.
  4. Exercise 4 times per week Eat less sweets Spend less money Thats it- its down on paper so Im accountable!
  5. PERFECT!! That minimizes what you have to log. The exercise ticker can be on everyones signature!!
  6. I have no problem eating popcorn. And I enjoy having it as a change in the everyday.
  7. Im not sure engineered sources are the way to go- supplement fine but for total nutrition? Vary your diet and your hair loss will slow down. I stopped the shakes and resorted to a more varied diet and my hair loss has almost stopped! I stir the any whey unflavored into my drinks(hot tea, sugar free hot chocolate etc...) in between meals and dont worry about my diet. This is for the long haul and shakes are not something I plan to do forever.
  8. I prefer them slightly frozen. Otherwise I agree they taste like slimy warm not set up jello. My favorite is the tastless protein from bariatric eating.com. You can stir in in tea, sugarfree hot choc, milk, any liquid and most solids.
  9. Dr. C That is great for education, THANK YOU!!!
  10. 9.75cm/4ml band with 1cc fill
  11. WALKING!!! then i found the gas chewables and heating pad to help. IN that order. Good Luck!
  12. I have hypothyroid- my endo says she has more normal weight than overweight hypothyroids and that is NOT the reason Im overweight. I disagree with her so.... onward I go and had the surgery. My band has helped me stay in control of binging. It limits how much I can over eat. I have not been the fast looser and that I think may be thyroid related also. Can not tell that Im banded. Feel completely normal!!! Would do it again!!
  13. I am a novice but it sounds like you have too much fill. You need to talk to the surgeon and see about taking some out. I have 1cc in and I can eat or drink just about anything- except soft bread, and dry meats!
  14. I can eat salads with out any trouble- problem is its not protein. If I get chicken or tuna I try to focus on it first and eat some salad as I go.
  15. Puddin- You look GREAT- like a totally different person!! I can relate to your addictive behavior- would like for mine to be sex- my husband opposes!! How dare he- sure makes oogling guys fun!! I look at them and think the same. However my addiction has been food and shopping. We all have an addiction to break- If I were single it would be sex!!
  16. Besides a halt in weight loss, How do you know you need a fill? I have always been able to eat an entire WW or Lean cuisine frozen meal, I do get stuck on meats occassionally and it usually ends with a pb in less than 5 minutes. Im terrified to get a fill- I fear putting my band at risk for slippage. Is that a misconception that with fills the band is at risk for slippage especially if you get stuck or pb? Suggestions are appreciated!!
  17. I can so relate!! For me: Turkey is out too dry, Pork is out, chicken if it is moist is ok, beef is usually ok, lobster has been easy, shrimp is also ok, fish depending on the moisture level is ok. I too tend to eat the non protein just to get something down. Eating is such a hassle!! Protein drinks are my lifesaver. I dont have the forever pain it passes with or without a pb in less than 5 minutes. I will watch curiously as to what suggestions you receive.
  18. Everyday without fail- Flintstones with iron chewable, biotin, zinc,
  19. Kuddos!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Im in on the next challenge- valentines or st pattys day?
  20. I started with a bmi of 35. My first 20 pounds came off easily in the first two months. I have since had to work for every pound!! Ive had one fill and could tell a slight difference. I get food stuck if I eat too fast. I am not going to get another fill unless I slow down- since I HATE that golf ball feel and seem to visit it weekly. I have 40-50 or so pounds to loose. My surgeon said IT DOES take the lower BMI pt the longer time to loose and not to expect it to fall off. 1-2 pounds a week and at the end of 2 years I will have most of it off. Im just thrilled so far and am SOOOO pleased that I have been able to not gain thru the holidays and actually loose even though it is S L O W!!! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
  21. stayed the same prob time for a fill, I will wait until after Christmas!!
  22. Down ZERO- DAMN IT!! Sooooooo slow!! But better than a gain!
  23. I dont have the "Full sensation" either. ITs either full hunger OR nothing. I have noticed I get the hiccups and I use that as my signal to stop. I know that doesnt help much.... Thats all Ive got hopefully others will be more help
  24. -2 thats the two from thanksgiving. now back on the road to thin!!
  25. Heaves can increase risk of slippage. I went home the same day- I had very little pain- I did great on tylenol rapid melts. I was hungry the first week and too afraid to push to hard. Clear liquid was the hardest for me- the full liquid was much easier!! Since you started out heaving (my opinion here) you need to be very careful and do your liquids for the entire time. Your band will need extra time and care to settle. What ever it takes try not to heave or vomit!!! Get zofran or phenergan if you need it. Welcome to band land!!
