nana is right, Move on and find another surgeon. If he gave you the original chart- make copies, and take the copy with you or dont- just go and see them as a new pt.You dont need to give a reason for changing doctors. The only reason you should provide is insurance change. Dont drudge up the whole story- just give them your symptoms and allow them to fix you. Dont give the other guy a second thought- just find another. There are 100's in this area!! Being "good or great" is a matter of personal opinion and how they meet YOUR needs. If I think dr X is great yet he didnt meet your needs hes not so great for you. We all need and get different things from our helath providers. Your might be taking this too personal- he never gave you a second thought so dont waste your energy thinking of what coulod have been. Check online with your insurance company and they will list everyone on your plan. Heck Id even switch cities and drive a little further just not to let that jerk get me down!!

Doctors can "fire" pts- however in Texas he has to give you 2wks-1month notice in which to find another AND be available for emergencies or band related problems. Discharging patients is something that is fairly common. Most do it for unpaid bills, failure to be compliant, no shows for appointments, drug seeking behavior- narcotics, high medical-legal risk type pts which goes back to compliance. It may be better he terminated the medical relationship- you do not want his medical judgement clouded by personal feelings- which has obviously occurred!! Find someone else and be glad you know this now. Once trust is betrayed on either side it is no longer a good medical relationship.

This thread may be to heated for me, but here I go jumping in anyway!! My response in the past to "We don't carry your size" is: Thats too bad since I have more money than my daughter, who's size you do carry! Ignorance, rudeness have no place in customer service. I truly think the less than 25 year olds may have missed out on what real customer service is. They probably have never seen it, nor do they know how to offer it. The best customer service I HAVE GOTTEN has always come from people older than 40! NO its not age discrimination its lack of worldliness for the younger people. They need the educated by the elders and I start the process. I usually call them on it or point out how insensitive it is. Next time they may think before speaking. I DEFINITELY would have called her on the eye rolling!! I don't leave an establishment mad I stop, breathe, then deal with who ever or whatever was said. May I help you is ALWAYS better than assumptions on their part- INEXCUSABLE!!! I would write the company and educate them on their policy and help them change their verbage to May I help you, Please?!

First of all you, tell your DH he may freely express his feelings and opinions AND he WILL NOT YELL OR CURSE TO DO SO. That is such a red flag for emotional abuse of a spouse!! DO NOT put up with it. Stand your ground and do not let ANYONE speak to you like that!! You are a worthwhile person and no one should be able to make you feel so bad!! Abuse is abuse whether physical, emotional, or negelect!!!!!! If he doesnt get better you might seek medical attention for him as his hormones may have changed or he may be having transient ischemic attacks (TIA's) that can alter his personality. Keep your head up and dont let negative thoughts invade!!

My mom is also difficult, manipulative, guilt driving, still trying to mother me at 40!! I have not told her Im having surgery. When I told her I was considering it and looking into it- she was so negative, non supportive that assisted me im the decision to not tell her. She said we dont have obesity in her side of the family....she is 5'2'' and 240 - Can you say MO. She cant!! If she asks- Ive drastically cut back and am exercising- both of which are TRUE!! I dont need or want the lecture, so somethings are best not disclosed to those who cant be supportive. Anyone else who asks that doesnt have the need to know I will be telling them Ive made some drastic lifestyle changes- TRUE again. There are tons of ways without overtly lying. You need to role play in your head and be ready tho. NO GUILT you have to take care of you and your family choose the supportive people and move on!! This is helpful to read. several who posted told and wish they hadnt. one thing that struck me was if you tell it you cant take it back- if you dont tell you can always tell later!!! My surgeon is kinda the same- he will not do appetite suppressants nor would he give me rx for pain med this week so i could have it filled and just come straight home from the hosp next week. He wont do anti nausea meds either. Too close to surgery to find another surgeon since he is in one of the better practices AND my ins changes in NOV and I dont want to start over!! It has to do with liability I guess- Dont take it personal!!

Lap bypass is 100times harder than the lap-band. Risks are MUCH more prevalent. It may be purely that her patients need the more permanent surgery. I would not let that deter me. The more important question is how many lap-bands does she follow and how long has she been treating and following pts with lap-band? If its more than a year its more than your and my experience. If she has a good approachable bed side manner thats what counts- everyone has to start somewhere!! She could have lied to you but she was honest. Now you need to be honest with her. Tell her your concern if she is worth her salt she will discuss it with you and offer an expert in the field should one be needed.

It will be better tomorrow!! Check into hiring someone to help you for a ouple of days. You'll probably be fine just dont lift her. Sit on the floor to love on her and change her diaper. She doesn't care if you dont pick her up- let her crawl into your lap- make a game out of it. Dance and sing while your dressing, she was upset b/c you were. I attended a medical program and the speaker was a gastroenterologist. The particular talk was on chronic constipation, however the weight loss topic was broached. He said in a room full of medical specialists that LESS than 5% of people who diet will be successful WITHOUT surgery. That they will not get it off and keep if off for even as little as ONE year without surgical intervention. THAT was my epiphany!! Thats when I knew I HAD to pursue surgical options. I would prefer to have RNY since it is permenant and is without erosion or slips, but I do not qualify. So the next best thing Hopefully better is the band! Good Luck in you decision- I just found it interesting that the GI professionals acknowledge it !!!!

Dairy and a thinner person. The really thin girl in our office 5'6" 115# if you are standing next to her you can hear Water hit her stomach. You can hear every rumble her stomach and intestines make!! They dont call them luxury cars for nothing- the extra insulation to sound proof vs a kia!! Im still going for the kia look- Ive had plenty of years as a luxury model. Plus I look forward to actually wearing a sweat shirt or pullover for the warmth!!

What great advice- I m pre band fat and afraid of the scales, isnt it funny that post band you loose the fear of the scale!! It becomes an intresting time consuming device. LOL
