  1. I have a problem with that too! NOBODY knows my current weight...well aside from my doctors and this entire community! LOL My boyfriend (who had the bypass about 9 years ago) keeps pestering me to tell him and cannot understand why I won't tell him. Maybe once I reach my goal I will tell...but not now.

Oh...and I have had a handful of people say to me "Why are you having it, you aren't that big" I cannot tell you how much that pisses me off!! What are you supposed to say to that?!?! All times I said "umm...yeah I am" LOL :)

  2. ahhhhh....see maybe that's my problem....because I have ALWAYS been heavy I honestly do not believe that I was EVER a size 10 or 12. I remember being a freshman in high school wearing a 14 or 16 jeans, prior to that I always wore stretch pants (it was the 80's after all lol) So conceivably the last time I could have possibly been a size 10 or 12 was when I was younger than 14 definitely no way I can compare my >14 year old body to my 35 year old body lmao

  3. Everytime I talk to someone about getting banded one of the first questions they ask is "What is your goal?" I NEVER have an answer! I have no concept of weight in numbers.....the fact that my boyfriends sister weighs pretty close to what I weigh flabbergasts me. She is 5'3" I am 5'8" she wears a size 18 jeans I wear 26/28. I know it's all in how we carry it body type etc etc but it still baffles me!! I've told people that I would be prefectly happy in a size 14 maybe 12 as long as I can shop somewhere other than Fat Chicks R Us (that is what I call LB lol) But I have no idea what weight that means for me.

    ANYWAY...I'm a bit longwinded...sorry

My questions are as follows.....what's your height weight and goal? Did you or your doctor set the goal for you?

  4. oh yes....I forgot to mention I was a transplant from the Jan Bandsters thread....I was a little overzealous in thinking it was going to be in Jan LOL

And thanks to another poster..Abra I think is the name....about my height and weight and her goal is 170...I was thinking 180 for myself but didn't want to say it lol But I am saying it now....I think around 180 is good for me!

  5. YAYYYYY!!!! Just got a call from the Coordinator (Chad) at the bariatric surgeons office...I GOT APPROVED!!!!! Pre-op appt Feb 5 and surgery date Feb 23rd!!! WHoo hoo I am so excited scared nervous happy etc etc etc

#7. Do you have the support of family and friends? yes....for the most part

#8. Concerns and questions? not losing weight, vomiting, getting stuck, band slippage, band erosion, not being successful.....trying to avoid the "Last Supper" mentality between now and Feb 5 (part of the pre-op is getting all the "stuff" for the 2 week liquid diet before the surgery!!)

  6. 1.What is your current and goal weight?

Starting 300+ current 298 As far as my goal goes, I don't have one! LOL My goal SIZE is a 12/14 which I would be comfortable and healthy at. I really believe that for me, weighing 140-150 would be TOO small, I'd look like a bony lollipop! Anyway...I think my bmi is 45 or so
