I'm new to lap band and to posting on forums/blogs. I am still trying to decide if lap band is right for me. And to convince my husband, who has never had weight issues. I have been a type 1 diabetic for 16 years. My weight has gradually crept up to nearly 200 lbs. I will not qualify for insurance funding because my BMI is only 33. I don't want to wait until I meet their requirements. I fear that the longer I wait, the harder it will be.One of my biggest concerns is whether I will be able to give up the foods I love. I love to cook and especially like cooking for family. Will I still want to cook? Will I really be satisfied with just a few bites? It is hard to wrap my head around that idea.If I can convince my husband (and myself!), I will get banded. Any comments from others welcome and appreciated!
