    Banded in october--updates please

I had surgery on Oct. 26th and since surgery have lost 12 lbs. Overall I've lost 32 lbs. I had my first fill on the 2nd and felt no difference. I called my doctor and I go in Wed. for another fill. I have been very discouraged lately, as it seems like I can eat way more than I am supposed to. I also let myself get too hungry and then over eat and feel depressed and uncomfortable. Everyone around me knows I had surgery so the questions about how much I have lost and how much I can eat are constantly flying. I have not been eating very healthy foods and haven't been exercising either. My exercise buddy returns from a vacation this week, so I am hoping I can kick that back in gear. I do feel better knowing I am not the only one struggling, but it would sure be nice if none of us had to feel this way. Hopefully with time and more fills it will get better.

    Is this ok for mushies?

Today I had eggs and canned corn beef. Yesterday I had soft meatloaf and mashed potatoes and some peas. I mushed it all together. Are these ok for the mushie stage? I chew really well and haven't any problems with it so far, but I'm concerned that I went a little too far with trying to consider things to be mushy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated......
  6. I have felt the same way the last 2 days. I am almost 2 weeks out and was feeling great restriction at first. I was getting full off of the clear liquids I was drinking. I started mushies this week and all of the sudden I started feeling hungry in between meals and was eating a cup or more of food at each meal. I have been really worried about this as well, so I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

    surgery tmw!

I am doing pretty good so far. Today I went out grocery shopping with my mom for about 2 hours and feel fine. I am having a hard time getting all of my liquids in tho. I am really trying but it seems like I can only get about 30 oz. in each day. Today I'm having some tea and I bought some Kelloggs protein water, so hopefully that helps. I was feeling down during the grocery shopping, thinking about all of the foods I cant eat and how long it will be until I can. Being back at home with other things to do helps keep my mind off of that. Im happy to hear that we are all doing ok and as time goes on, we will feel great.

    surgery tmw!

I am being banded tomorrow also! I think we all have the same anxious feelings. I go in at 6:30 and surgery is at 8. I will be thinking of all of you tomorrow and pray that all goes well for each and every one of us. Tomorrow is the start of our new beginning.....
  9. Hello everyone. I have been on here for a while reading all of your posts and getting so much helpful information. This is a great website full of friendly, helpful people. So tomorrow is my big day and I am nervous. I started getting nervous right after my pre-op appointment. I guess it all became real at that moment. I am also very excited as I've struggled with my since childhood and I am hoping that the band will finally be the tool I need to get this weight off. I am mostly nervous about life after getting the band. I am nervous about how and what to eat, complications, etc. The boards are a great place for advice and my surgeon seems really understanding and is right down the street, so with all of that support, I should be fine. Well, wish me luck and good luck to all of you!
