  4. Please remember our band is a tool, not something we have done and never make any changes. We have to work with it and not against it. i have 2cc in my band (get my 2nd fill the 22nd of Oct) and go about 4 hours between meals, but i still drink my Protein shakes in between meals especially when it is my time of the month and tend to be hungry more. Exercise is an important part of this as well, once you feel well enough to start doing something and you have been cleared go for it, just take it easy. Take it one day at a time, we didn't gain weight over night, and we certainly won't lose it over night but we now have our "new friend" that can help us get to where we want to be. Keep your head up and keep working at it.
  5. Can anyone please help me in setting up my graphics on my signature??? I see so many pretty graphics and am drooling over them...please help. August Bandster.
  6. Years ago a phyc. doc explain to me that with all our relationships each person has a certain "dance". Any time when one person in the pair changes their "dance" it trips the other. If you stay with the new "dance" long enough the other will learn the new steps. Thank you for this, this is the best analogy i have head in a long time. Keep up the good work everyone..... August bandster
  7. This was the best analogy i have heard in a long time. thank you.
  8. i have to agree with those that think pills shouldn't be taken. It's all about changing our mind set, eat things that are worth eating and make sure you get your 70-80 grams of protein a day. If you do that you will be full and won't need to take something to get you through this period. I was banded on the 18th and am managing pretty good (I think). I look at things, and think....nope waisted calories that i could actually use on something i can eat and get something out of it. I am losing about 2 lbs a week and will get my first fill on the 22nd. I wish you the best keep up the good work.
  9. hi YummyTummy, i was banded on the 18th and still have a little bit of the shoulder pain. Every day is has gotten better. I told my dr during my post op visit and he didn't seem worried about it. So apparently it is normal what we are feeling.
  10. :tongue2: AmberK, i know what you mean about the mashed potatoes. I was banded on 8/18 and am loving my mashed potatoes, but i get the ones that are flavored, it give me that satisfaction i need. Who ever it was that thought of instant potatoes is my hero.
  11. clohse, how do you put the tracker on your page?

  12. hey jkpenny, you look fabulous. I was banded on 8/18 so am still very sore and walking very gingerly. I look at your pictures and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I would like to thank you for all of the information you have shared on here. You know you can only learn so much from the class and online research but to read a real story is so helpful. thank you again and keep up the great work

  13. hi everyone, i had my surgery on the 18th. The first 48 hours were absolute "hell" for me. I was so nauseated and bloated. I think what has helped me is to stay in an upright position. I slept in our den for the first 3 nights. I actually got to sleep in our bed last night. The problem that i have now is the soreness in my stomach. But i know that will go away in time. Honestly i didn't eat any broth for the first 24 hours because i was so nauseous, but then worked into my soups, and the sugar free popsicles work really well, but i would suggest a 1/2 at a time and take it slow.
  14. oh my gosh, i am starving....this liquid diet is going to take me out......those of you who are post surgery, how did you do it??? i am so hungry!!!! i can't wait until this has past....i know 2 weeks is nothing as to how great the pay off will be. help, any advice out there???
