  1. Good morning,

I got mine at Beth Israel in Sept.

  2. hello, Well its going very slow.

I got my 5th fill last week and i started eating solid food yeaserday and i dont really feel any different... strange? the Dr did say it may take me a little longer to feel that restriction and fullness others get with just a few fills.

It doesnt help that i have twins that i am potty trainning and are constantly asking for treats... so i give them M&Ms and i give myself a treat too...its a bunch of empty calories.

    How are thinks with you?

  3. Hello.. how are you??

Well i am 4 days post op and it has not been easy since the moment i woke up from surgery. The surgeon found a Hernia that he had to repair before even starting the LAbabd part.. I was in a lot of pain and supper bloated. Once home i had to deal with 3 very curious kids wanting to see my Boo Boos and hating that i can not lift them up or let them sit on my lap. SO for tha last 2 days have been in my room...Oh and all 3 kids have a cold!!

My pain right now is a 5...with meds. what bothers me the most how bloated i feel and the pain/pressure i feel on my back and shoulder area.

I do not regret anything... in 4 days i have lost 4 lbs. So far i dont miss food, i am trying my best to drink what i need and to walk.

I need all the support i can get..

    Thanks

  4. HI I just read the post you placed on jkpenny and i am in the same boat. I was banded on Sept 30th and in the 1st 2 weeks i lost about 15lbs but once they gave me go ahead to eat solids/mushy food, and i healed; the weight loss has practically stopped and i am feeling hungry faster. I have my fist fill on the 19th. So i am trying to take it easy on the food, drinking lots of water and staying away from halloween candy and breads especially since i have heared that those came really cause problems once you have a fill. So now am waiting and counting down the days till the fill.

    Good luck with your journey!

  5. hi Jay how are you? I have not logged on in a while.

I have nto had much change...but its not because of the band. Its because of me and the stuff i am not doing (working out ) and the things i am doing (snacking) that is keeping the scale from moving down.

    how are you???

  6. hi Kimma, i have not logged in for while. I guess since nothing much has changed... The scale is still stuck between 230 and 234. I cannot blame the band...i have been eating alot of crappy snacks and slaking of on the work out. Just last week i went back to the gym and now plan on going 2 times a week...hopefully when the warmer weather comes i will increase the workouts.

    Anyways thabks ...

  7. hi,

I just read a post where you were suggesting to someone to get an agressive fill.

I am in Band Hell... had a 2nd fill last month and i dont feel any restriction. In total i have 5cc in a 10 cc band. i am so fustrated... i have to wait till the end of March to get my 3rd fill and i am so afraid i will walk into that office without loosing any weight. In almost 5 months i have lost about 30lbs...but i still dont feel it or see it.

Anyways, i think i will be asking for a agrerssive fill in March.

Hope thinks are going well for you.

  8. hi, I also have straight hair i have been taking Biotin for the last 2 months i have to say that i am not loosing as much hair as i was before i started taking it. i am also just noticing new growth ;-) so i would recommend it. The first month i did not see much change but in the second month i did.

it is a small bill so its easy to swallow. I bought it at Target.

  9. hi, i have not been on this site for a while... maybe in hidding, or maybe i dont want to admit that i have been slacking off and that is why i have not lost much weight in the last 4 months... i dad my last fill in dec and i am up to 9CC... and still dont have the Sweetspot.. have you gotten there?

I need to get back on track but the horrible winter we are having in MAss id not helping....

  10. Hi, thanks so much for your pic comments. It was really hard to put those pics online but i wanted to have a complete and honest pic journal...so that hopefully soon i will look back and be proud of what i have acomplished.

    you look great!!

  11. hi, thanks so much for your nice words about motherhood. I am trying to be strong and ask for help.

I got the band to get myself healthy but also so that my kids can be proud and i can be actively involved in their lifes.

Cant wait to get my 3rd fill, hopefully it will get me closer to the "sweet spot"

    thanks again.

  12. hi.. i know exacly what you mean!!

My husband was hesitant at fisrt but now 5 months post op he sees that even wit the Band it is not a quick fix. its hard work and it is something i will be working at for the rest of my life. I have now lost 32 lbs since Sept and it is going slow. I have not been prefect but everyday i start new and tell myself that the weight that is comng off will be gove for ever. I have more energy and that changes my attitude.

I hope you get your Husband on board, he cannot relate and that makes it hard. Good luck.

    your kids are adorable.

  13. hi...how are you? not seen any updated pics. You are doing so well just wanted to chck in.

    hope all is well

  14. hi...just read you most recent blogs and i loved them. I know what you mean about the "poop weighing"" dry dry chicken" and "slime=shower".

I have been stuck at the same weight for the last 4 months... not the bands fault. Lack of motivation and a little saobotage on my part.... i have a new goal for this year. loose 33lbs by my sept Bday.

How is you new veigan diet going?

  15. Hola Amy, I just read your Once apon a time... blog, and i LOVE it. I can relate to so many of your expecienses. I am just starting this process and it is going slow for me. my goal right now is to be under 200lbs by this Xmas. That means i have to work on getting about 45lbs off.

I love your sence of humor and i will keep reading along to get motivated.

    GRACIAS!!

  16. how are you doing??

I have been stuck at the same weight since forever... been slacking of.

BUT it is spring..time to get my Ass to the gym and stop snacking with my kids.

  17. how are you?? have you recovered from your trip to Italy? enyoing the summer?

For me it is going slow... just yesterday i had my 5th fill and i hope this gives me some restriction and gets me closer to the sweet spot.

  18. VERY SLOW

Ok so it has been a week since my sciatica appeared and on Tues it will be a week since i have been on the anti-inflamatories (celebrex) and the Vicodin...wich i can only take after my husband gets home since it makes em loopy :lol:and i really cant stay awake. So i take Tylenol during the day.

I still have pain, i can not go more that 15 mins without feeling the pinch/shock go down my left leg. it is really fustrating because i want to get back to doing my workout at 6am but i get up very lame and i know i have a full day ahead of me with the kids.

To TOP it off...i have gained 3 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!:crying: i am still not feeing any restriction and i have 5 more weeks before my next fill.

    i am bumming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. well it had been 20 days and i am so happy that i can eat mushy/wet food now. the liquid dieat was very hard for me since 80% on it was on the sweet (shakes, jello, pudding...ect) i eas craving salty so bad!! I have really noticed a difference in my eating..I am so scare of having something stuck that i i chewing like crazy and keeping a journal . i am "trying" to get the protein in but i think it is an inpossible goal to get 70-80 grams of it a day. I was also told to keep my calorie intoke in the rage of 800-1200 per day. SO far i am ranging about 900 and i have lost a total of 13lbs.

    how are you doing???

  20. wow i am so glad to hear that you have not given up. Sept will be my 2 yeays anniv. I have lost 50 lbs and it has been a struggle...mostly because of my habbits and my grazing.

I hope you had a good visit with your Dr. I have littel restriction but i am determined not go back for a fill till i reach the 220's.

    Anyway good luck!!!

  21. wow 25 lbs that is great!!! i have noticed that one week i will loose and the next nothing... i have tried hard not to become obsessed with the scale. i look more to how my clothes are fitting. i have not excesised at all..well i am not counting running behind 3 small kids

    keep it up!!

  22. 100 lbs that is great!!! that is my goal. Im stuck at 50lbs and i know why. I just can get myself to stop grazing during the afternoons. I will not give up. YOu look wonderful and its an inspiration for me . Enjoy the new you!
