  1. I noticed nothing different and spent 4 weeks having nothing but Optifast shakes.

    Do You miss food?

I haven't eaten real food in over 5 weeks and I kind of miss it. Soon I will be eating real food again. Just not as much of it as I used to. As far as cookbooks and romance novels go, I watch the Food Network as if it were porn.

    March 2010 Bandsters

I was banded on the 2nd and have had no sign of my surgery except for the scars since day 4 pre-op. I started purees a week ago and am not hungry but I am growing kind of bored with them. It's been over 5 weeks since I ate real food. I can hang in there though, it won't be much longer.
  4. Good morning all. Welcome Amy. I too was up a pound this morning and can't chalk it up to female hormones. I have my 2 week post-op this afternoon. Going to ask if I can try real food. I am supposed to be on pureed for another 2 weeks but I'm feeling adventurous.
  5. I have a desk job and honestly could have gone back to work the day of surgery. I was uncomfortable with the gas but nothing that would have impeded my ability to do my job. I took a week off anyways.

    Tomorrow is my day!

Good luck. It is normal to be nervous but there is nothing to be nervous about. Most of us were back to normal in a few days. Just be prepared for lots of gas building up. It gets uncomfortable for a couple of days.
  7. Hiya.

I have an office job and took a week off but to be totally honest with you, if I needed to, I could have been back at work following surgery. I was a little uncomfortable with the gas but no pain from the incisions.

  8. It makes some of them feel better about themselves and others have the gang mentality. I would have been entertained if there had been any original content but same old crap. May be next time.
  9. Kris, It's been 11 hours since you posted. I hope you called your surgeon's office. Mine told me to call immediately if I vomited at all.
  10. Crystl, Sorry to hear about your snow emergency . That is traumatic. Take the day off! Glad you and your grandson are ok. Karen, how'd the gig go? Did you wow everybody in your new dress? Dottie, it sounds like you're enjoying yourself. Happy birthday!! Everybody else, Happy Monday!!
  11. My surgeon's office just sent them my medical records from a doctor's appointment in March 2008 and their own records from an appointment at their office in September 2009. Just 2 weights. One from 2008 and one from 2009 and this was sufficient. So, I think the answer is 2 years.
  12. This is the first I have ever heard of anyone drinking by the hour. It seems like a lot of work and prep time to make a bunch of 2 ounce shakes. On my pre-op diet I had to drink 5 shakes. One every 3 hours but they were 10 ounces.

    hi everyone

Welcome Alycia. Good luck tomorrow and keep that positive attitude!
  14. Hi. I should write y'all one by one but I am running to get ready for work.

I'm doing great. I have my 2 week post op appointment tomorrow and am hoping the surgeon will tell me I can start eating normal food. I know he is going to say 2 more weeks of mushie though.

  15. It is almost 70 here today and sunny. I spent the day with the babies at the dog park. I'm gonna get a nastygram from the HOA for not mowing the lawn  Christie, I burn at the mere mention of sun. The worst thing about my pool is that there is no shade. Not limited shade, NO shade!
  16. You live close enough to come over for a swim. I'm about 2 hours west of Tyler. Come on over. The dogs are not bright enough to keep their heads up and are afraid of the pool. I drag them in once in a while to stand should deep on the stair.
  17. I guess the answer is "no". We all do what we can to make it not happen but be prepared for when it does.

Brand new and I have a question...

My "guess" is that you should have no problems with surgery due to the things you mentioned. I know the aspirin is safe. I take one 325mg aspirin daily following a heart attack. I just had to stop the aspirin 1 week prior to surgery and started again the day after surgery. Make sure to tell your surgeon everything. He/she will clarify it all for you.

    Determined to not fail!

Good luck! You have a great attitude and that is the strongest tool you will find. If you can stay positive, you will go far.
  20. I thought it was impossible to get stuck prior to any fills but I managed to do it yesterday. Just 11 days out of surgery and day 4 on mushies. I didn't want to have to clean my blender or food processor. So, I just used a fork to mash up the tilapia I was eating. Well, I took too big of a fork full and didn't chew enough. Thankfully, because I am so new, it only lasted 2 minutes or so. Good luck!!
  21. No matter how lavish the ceremony, all of the men will be focused on your boobs. Sorry :wink2:
  22. I could always make something up if you'd like. Propositioning school girls Auctioning myself as a gigolo to the highest bidder Advertising kitty snuff movies on my wall

    Where's your port?!

Thanks!! You'd think that dictionary.com would know that.
  24. and I thought it was impossible to get stuck on mushies, especially prior to any fills. Oops! A few years ago there were games that gave you credits for every friend you had on Facebook. So, I did the obvious like thousands of others did and friended everyone and everything in sight. Apparently there is a failsafe built in to stop spammers that closes accounts after they reach 6,000 friends. The fact that I had over 50 accounts didn't help matters :wink2:
