Thanks!! 50 pounds to go but if I don't lose another pound I am content with what I have accomplished. My competitive side will be a little disappointed but the rest of me is happy.

  3. Christie, were you lucky enough to be able to give him any injections or draw blood? Karen, Thanks! To be honest, if I never lost another pound; my competitive side would be a little disappointed but the rest of me is happy with what I have accomplished.

    To much to fast??

Congrats!! There is no such thing as losing too fast; too slow or just right. This isn't Goldilocks and the 3 pounds. You lose what you lose when you lose it and you be happy. As long as you are getting the nutrient and water you need. That is all that matters.

    face book bandits

I'm triegerb@verizon.net on Facebook. I also have a private group set up for LapBandTalk. It isn't very active, perhaps we can merge the two. Welcome to Facebook
  6. Good for you!! A few of us have commented on how you don't look like you need to lose any more. You look great!!

Comment to me with your thoughts!

The lapband should not determine frequency and intensity. Over all health should be the key factor. I was told I could walk or run immediately after surgery but to hold off on anything strenuous for 6 weeks. Other than being told never to do old-fashioned sit ups I was given the green light to do any exercises I was up to doing.
  8. Congrats!!! I was impressed by your weight loss 50 pounds ago. I am astounded now and have no doubts you can hit your goal. It's all about attitude and you have it!! It's stories like yours that ensure the rest of us that our goals are possible. PS. you look 15 to 20 years younger than before!

    Anyone else bigger "down yonder"?

We can use that shade now!
  10. Are you referring to this "forum" or the actual "blogs" on this site? There is a difference. There are many of us who would like nothing better than to be able to help you. If you post specific questions it makes it a lot easier to answer. The only stupid question is that which goes unasked. That link I posted earlier has step by step directions and pictures showing how to create a weight loss ticker AND apply it to your signature.

    Anyone else bigger "down yonder"?

Only HH and Beth suspended. Mine just looks bigger because I haven't seen it since I was 12.
  12. You'll be fine. Vacations are about spending time with your family and enjoying yourself. The band requires no major changes to your life except how much you eat. Eating should not be a major consideration. Just order an appetizer; kid's meal; split a meal or get a full meal. Stop eating when you are no longer hungry no matter which option you take.

When did you see the difference?

Been there, done that. I joined the army at 17 at about 200 pounds. After 16 weeks of basic training and schooling I was at about 165. Everyone saw the difference and commended me but inside I was still the fat kid. Five years later at 23 years old, I was discharged weighing in at a svelt 178. I was still rebellious. I ate and drank to my hearts desire because nobody could tell me not to. Exercise? Screw that! I don't have to any more. Twenty-one years later, I was 365 pounds and laying in a hospital bed having just undergone stent placement because I had 2 blocked coronary arteries that caused a heart attack. Best damned thing that ever happened to me!! Ten months later, I am 220 pounds and in better shape than I can recall. That fat kid finally grew up. I'm a new man at 45. That being said, if I can do it anybody can. Look hard and find the difference in yourself. It helps when others mention it but in the end, you are the only one that matters and if you don't feel the difference it won't matter. Go grab a camera; strip down to you shorts and take a picture of yourself. Nobody ever has to see this picture but you. As your weight loss progresses, keep taking pictures and compare them to that picture.
  14. Denise, It's not mine. I did PF Chang 3 weeks ago and my loss stopped as well. I have been bouncing back and forth from 220 to 223. 219 is my next goal and it is taunting me. Don't let it get you down, I'm not. There is plenty of evidence showing that weight loss is more prevalent during the colder seasons. Stacie, I have had no pain whatsoever from my port or any of my incision. It's worth a call to your surgeon. Leigha, my diet is liquids only and meant for binging, not every day use.

    Terrified!!!!

The previous responders have done a great job giving you the details. So, I'll be brief. 1. Loose skin may be a bit of an eyesore but morbid obesity is downright repulsive and unhealthy. Surgery can take care of the loose skin after you've lost the weight if it bothers you that much. 2. You can't take out a restraining order and you're not likely to find a shelter where you can hide away from food forever. You're going to have to make compromises with food so you can both live together. If it starts abusing you, get out of there and go for a walk. You can return after you've both calmed down. 3. Wrinkles? Honey, everyone gets them. Stay out of the sun and don't smoke. That will slow their progress a little. 4. Most of us feel no pain from surgery. Sure, there's a little discomfort with gas which some blow out of proportion but they are just crybabies. I hope this helps. If not, I had fun typing it. Good luck.
  16. Go Rangers!! I hate most vegetables with a passion and lost 145 pounds in the past 10 months. Vegetables taste like dirty feet and are highly overrated. There are plenty of fat people here that love veggies and look what good they did for them. Increase your exercise and decrease your eating and you'll do fine. Cruises are about relaxing. Use the time you would have used at the buffet spending quality time with family and friends. Good luck!!
  17. Hang in there and keep your head up. You are doing great and even weight loss needs a break once in a while.

There is no refund on the ticket but hold onto it. It's good until the end of the month.

I have been bouncing back and forth between 200 and 223 for a month now. My next goal is 219 (because that is 99 Kilos). Go figure.

I'm not letting it get me down because it is 145 pounds less than I weighed 10 months ago.

    Yes, I'm still alive

... and doing great. I've lost a total of 121 pounds since September 18 and 26 since being banded almost 3 months ago. I've been away from this site for a while because I have OCD and got caught up in that retarded Farmville game on Facebook. The weather here has also been great. So, I have been spending a lot of time outside, walking the dogs and cavorting with neighbors. The weight loss has slowed from the 3 pound average loss I was doing weekly but it is still dropping. I even gained a pound or 2 in a few weeks only to lose it the next. I didn't let it get me down. I am at 244 now, that just happens to be the lowest I have gotten to both previous times before gaining it back. That is not going to happen this time. Phyl (my band) won't let it. I had my second fill on Friday putting me at 7 cc in my 14 cc band and I may be a bit premature in saying this but I think I may be at my sweet spot. It let's me eat enough and hammers me hard if I over due it. Also, I learned that drinking while eating not only washes food down but more often it reconstitutes what you just chewed the hell out of and makes it get stuck. I spend quite a bit of time sliming these days because I am not doing what I know is right. Live and learn. I've been contemplating a tummy tuck. I brought it up with my nutritionist and he said that a good PS wouldn't do it until I was at or near my goal. My goal is 170 pounds, which is next to impossible. I think I am going to hold out until I get down to 215 - 220. I am guestimating that I will lose an additional 20 pounds with that surgery. Well, I'm off to bed if I can there without stopping at Facebook.

Fills done by patient at home

I don't think it is too much worse than people that tattoo or pierce themselves at home and that happens every day. I wouldn't do but I wouldn't get tattooed or pierced either.
  21. It's not the surgery. It's the Texas summer. My niece is down from Boston for the week and we are stuck in the house bored because it is too damn hot to go out.

  23. I was really stiff in the morning on day 4 and attributed it to the IV fluids leaving my body. It could be that or dehydration, Vitamin deficiency, stress, etc... Are you drinking at least 64 ounces of Water a day? Have you been told that you can have Protein shakes or yogurt yet? I was drinking Protein Shakes / Meal Replacements immediately after surgery and never hungry. It could be that Bandster Hell thing that a few people have but 4 days seems a little early for that.

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Motivation and a Plan?

Take it one step at a time as to not be overwhelmed. Make sure you eat Breakfast every day. Always drink at least 64 ounces of Water a day. Start by cutting down your portions. Take your normal portion, then either put away or throw away 10-20% of it before you sit down to eat. Cut everything to about the size of a die. Chew every bite at least 25 times. When you've got that down, start substituting the foods you are eating with healthier foods. There is plenty more to it but like I said, do one thing at a time. Good luck.
