  1. Thanks for my birthday wishes! I had a great time, spent a lazy morning at home, and on the computer then I went out to eat with a Skinny friends she weighs 122 and thinks she needs to lose down to 117!! She is awesome and so beautiful! Went shopping and found a top to wear to the rehearsal dinner for my daughters wedding, size 14! I am lovin it! I still have large boobs, did not lose but a couple of inches in that dept! Ate out and then the movies! Lots of fun! Thanks Again, keep up the good work, love your blogs too.

  2. Hi, Well, I have not reached my second goal, but I have reached my first, and just staying there is a weekly challenge. But I think I just have to watch the portions now, I KNOW what I should and should not eat, but I can eat slow and eat a lot that way if I am not careful. I am staying in a size 14, that is what I was when I got married so I have never been a tiny person! LOL I feel good, but I want to be in a perfect size 12 within the coming year. Hoping and Praying! And you are welcome for the prayers, they are freely flowing for all us LapBanders! People think we cheated somehow to lose the weight but I have found this journey challenging and difficult at times, but very rewarding and in a shorter period of time than my other diet programs, AND we know that when we lose the weight it will stay off! Because If I ate everything in the kitchen, I could only hold just so much of it! Best Wishes!

  3. Thanks Debra, I love your site! Thanks for sharing the recipes, that does help in meal planning and calorie counting as well. A lot of folks after the band, just don't know what to eat. Have a wonderful and blessed day.

  4. Yeah Shonette! I am so happy for you, you are about to embark on a wonderful journey! I have never regetted the day I had the band, as it has truly changed my life for the better, I will be praying for you on the 21st. You will get a little nervous before the surgery that is natural, but it will be fine. So happy that all is working out well for you.

  5. Yeah! For Shonette! So happy for you!

  6. That Is a great Idea for a Social Group!!! Lindora really helped me and I still try to stick as close to that plan as is possible.

  7. Yes Judy! Alaska was awesome! At first I was excited to go and then lost some of my enthusiasm. Then when we reached Seattle WA, I got excited again, it was like nothing I had ever imagined!!! The only challenge I had WAS with eating! I could not eat anything hardly, but actually gained 4 lbs on the trip! When Cortizone is released into our bodies from stress sometimes, our stomachs swell, thus tightening the band around it, I think I had a too tight fill also just before I went on the trip, so I threw up a lot, when throwing up, it makes the stomach swell and the band tight, so when I got back from Alaska I went in and had .04 cc taken out, and lost about 6 lbs! So I am back on track now! The food was awesome by the way, what I got to stay down! LOL This month is my one year Bandiversary, I have lost 91 lbs so far and very happy and contented with the band, and I believe I will lose more in the next couple of years. Have fun and be sure to post photos for us to view.

  8. Wow you hardly look like the same person! Good Job!

  9. Hi so glad to add you as a friend. I love seeing someone who has had the band a while on here to talk with. I also love your Quotes, robbed a few, hope it is ok! LOL You look awesome too, I love your photo with the blue dress and your man! WoW!

  10. You are so welcome, I know this is priority in my life, but we do experience LIFE as it is and as it was before the band, and we have to FIT into our lives. Good for you, what difference will a week have, when we have the rest of out lives with the band? Have fun and enjoy! Praying for you to WIN!

  11. Thanks Shonette, So nice as always to hear from you and see your posts! I am praying for a good answer for you! Sometimes these things take longer, but just hold on, good days are coming.

  12. Thanks Shonette for your kind words as always, I know we are in the forefront of Gods Plan for our lives. He is my constant is such a changing world. I am praying for a good answer to your insurance challenge. I needed the help, and saw this as my answer to be healthy so I could serve my Lord the rest of my life, not only do I not eat so much, I am directed because of the band to eat healthier, so it really is a Good thing in our lives, I know the right answer will come for you too.

  13. five miles is a lot! Makes me tired thinking about it! LOL You are looking great!

  14. Hey Cathy What part of GA are you from? I wish I had a WII I may get one just for exercise too. I paid for a year at the Gym and just need to go, It stormed here today, so I did not get out and it was my day off, but I worked harder than if I'd worked, LOL, I will go tomorrow tho most definately. I used the weight machines for toning and I got a sore Tennis Elbow, so I had to stop that for awhile, it is better now and I do the cardio! It helped me with my toning in the underarms, I do have a little sagging there tho, and in my legs, they are pretty tight for my age. I had four children so I may want a tummy tuck, but we'll see, that would be in a year from now if I do. Walking seems to keep me in the losing weight category.

Reason I asked about GA, I have a house in Eufaula Ala on the AL side of Lake George, GA. Looks like you are doing great.

  15. The prayers are free, from me! Glad you are feeling better, take it slow and easy the first few days, be good to yourself, don't worry about losing the lbs, they will come, but for now concentrate on the healing process!

  16. Thinking of you today, praying for you and hopeful that all is well and you are going to be on the road to recovery! You will now be one of us a true "Bandster"!!!!

  17. So true about the Vacation, looking back at the photos I did have a great time and relaxed. Now I have lost 5 1/2 lbs since returning home so I am back! Just want to lose about 20 more and then maintain. I want to look good, not emaciated and old, just my age, and grandma's need a little lap! LOL You are looking great, keep it up, good to hear from you again!

  18. Doing great! So nice not to be throwing up everything! I finally feel nourished, now back to the Gym tomorrow! The little bit of unfill I got did the trick, now I need to take off the next 10 lb increment of weight, going to start walking again as well, just miss the exercise, going on Vacation can really get one off track!

  19. Oh how exciting Shonette, I am really happy for you! The preliminary stuff gets so intense you are relieved when you get to this point! Just think you will be on your way soon. I have continued on the Journey, happy most of the time, just a few setbacks, but that can be expected with LIFE things happening around us. The band has been the best thing I have done for myself ever, wouldn't go back for anything! Good to hear from you now, keep me posted I will be pulling for you and praying for you!

  20. Alaska was awesome and so breathtakingly beautiful!

  21. How good to hear from you, been so wrapped up with everything Life things! You Know! Have not been to my goldendayz blog in awhile I too need to get there and post. Check here everyday, it keeps me on track! I so hated to have an unfill, but it was not uneventful, but very helpful actually. Now when the next time for a fill I may have one if all of the swelling goes down.

  22. Hey I have not seen you posting lately, hope all is going well for you! Went to Alaska on a cruise, came home too restricted, had a slight unfill yesterday and now so much better! Hope to hear from you soon.

  23. Hi! Thanks for the great comments! I am doing well tonight, getting along better with my food and food intake. Looking for that 100 lbs to go away even if it takes me longer that one year, hey I did not get this big in one year right? It IS happening, I AM losing the weight and we ALL will WIN this battle with FAT!!!!

  24. Well thanks for commenting:thumbup: on my post! It went well, I ate a small amount before going to the Dr. and on the drive over it came up, I was so frustrated and then I got on the scales and I was 3 lbs up!! The Dr. came in and we talked, this has gone on since my last fill and got more severe on my cruise! He put me under the exray and saw the swelling around my port and band immediately! The upchucking had caused irritation and swelling causing the band to tighten! So he removed .04ccs and then I had liquids for 48 hours, then I ate and I was so full and the food stayed down! How wonderful, I feel satisfied too.

I did not know it, but with a too tight band, you will NOT lose weight, when you throw up, you eat more to try and get something to go in and it may be all the wrong things!

I am checking out the recipes you have and going to try them now that I can eat again! We do have to learn to live this life after the LAP-BAND?! I am going back to the Gym next week too.

  25. You are so right! I ALWAYS appreciate your comments and your encouragment! I have lots to be so thankful for and I just as anyone else get down and out, but I just look up and then look around and I can see others struggling, just starting and not knowing this new path we are on and I get so humbled. I had a slight unfill yesterday, liquids for 48 hours and then I ate, the food stayed down and I am FULL so that is what I needed. Mr Dr. is so understanding! I so love him and his staff and I am so blessed with that they are caring and want the best for my life. I am grateful for coming this far.
