    BMI 32 / 60 lbs ...

Here here! I get the same feeling. When I respond to a post or post a blog I feel people are looking down on me because I am 5"7 195 & 5 days post op. At 1st I just wanted to read & not post, but I said to heck wit it; no on is gonna break my spirit. I don't have to explain my problems with food to anyone. Accept me or don't, either way I will drop this weight! Good luck to everyone!!!

    Sugery yesturday10/6 in pain!!

I too had a hernia repaired. Try sm walks. I know it sounds odd but it helped me. Take very deep breaths & breathe out, that too helps! Remember your stomach is empty & you don't want to vomit. Do not take any medications other than the liquid Tylenol. They will mk you sick or you can become dependent on them. I'm no Dr. But, 5 days post op, & feeling great; don't take any chances. Tough it out, you will be fine, it's too early to panic.
  5. I feel great & am ready to drop these 12s & put on an 8! I'm day 5 post surgery! I'm ready to return to wk. The only reason I am waiting 1 full week is due to the sutures, I don't want them to pop.

    60g protein a day?

Multiply your weight by .37 that's how much protien you need daily along with cardio. Try Isopure clear drink! 40grams in 1 bottle & no carbs! Taste like a sports drink.
  7. I was banded Oct 3rd I'm 5"7 was 195 prior to the surgery. I'm excited! I know I will take longer to lose but it's on me not the Lapband! Don't forget it's a tool not magic! Keep your protien high & carb low you will see results. Don't forget to work out too!
  8. Actualy its clear so no dairy! They come about 6-8 flavors. I purchased 3 @ GNC to taste them for about $4 a bottle. I went online & found them about $40 for a case of 12. Drugstore.com has them the cheepest.

  10. Hang in there it will all be worth it! It is mind over matter & you going through withdrawl. Like others have said, it gets easier once you get it out of your system. Cheating will only prolong your hunger for more... I found Isopure to be a god send!!! 40 grams of protien & 0 carbs! I love them & I drink 1 a day on my post op diet. I am on day 4 of being banded and I was surprised chicken broth would enough & it was! I will not do anything to mess up my procedure. Follow your Drs instructions, you'll see in the long run you will be happy you did!
  11. I agree see your provider. I was rid of my gas pains by day 3 but I walked like a mouse in a cage! I take small sips & I take deep slow breaths. I don't know why but I keep coughing & sneezing too. It realy wierd... I hold my stomach & cough as deep and minimal as possible. My incisions have some discomfort & I think over time my port will cause pain from what I have read but I feel pretty lucky since I would have to drive 2 hours & go back over the boarder if I experienced any problems... I'm sure you be fine, stay active!
  12. I agree, walk every free chance you can get. I had the procedure done Oct 3rd & I started walking ASAP! Another great tip to help with pain is very small short sips & swallows! The less you swallow the less air you swallow & the less pressure you put on your band. And, the most important that no one has mentioned is breathe!!! Take in breathes slow as far as you can & then push out as far as you can. This pushes all the all like a vacume. When you push out you will notice small burps. This is what is causing the pain. I was told gas medication is not good for you in large quantities because you don't want to grow dependant on them. I don't take any now & my pain went away by day 3! Now the only preassure I feel is from my drinking. And when I start to feel build up I just breathe as deep as I can it it pushed the gar right out! Amazing? I know!!!

    October 2009 Surgery Date?

I'm doing everything I can to avoid pain. After every walk I was able to go to the toilet & let some gas out. I purchased liquid Tylenol & chewed a few anti gas pills. I gave birth so I know how the gas pains could be unbareable! I haven't experienced too much pain yet, just uncomfortable. Good luck, u will do fine & when it's over u will be happier.
