  1. Havent posted in a while,, I was banded on the 15th and I think Im doing fairly well. Having a hard time not advancing myself to mushies.. supposed to wait until wednesday. Scary thing though on Saturday night I looked down at my bandages and they were full like a balloon with this yucky pinkish fluid and I called my surgeon and he said I had a seroma which is basically a build up of fluid that started to leak through a pinhole in the incision. I've had to keep a kotex taped to my belly for two days now. Anyone experiencing this? Or I am the only lucky one... Hows everyone else?
  2. I was banded the 15th and just today started to feel almost 100% !!! It was a few days of hellish diarreah which I think after reading others posts was maybe the protein shakes. I am supposed to be on a full liquid diet with fat free cream soups, cream of wheat, yogurts etc.. but nothing is keeping me full. I had really thinned out instant mashed potatoes today and that seemed to help. Im going back to work on Thursday(god help me Im a chef). Any one have any other ideas for liquid/pureed food that satisifies?
  3. Banded yesterday..ALL went well, tons of nausea medicene. Now I am home and the soreness had gradually increased, especially when I get up or down. They gave me liquid percoset, but thats not really helping. At the hospital on was on a morphine pump, so maybe the liquid perk is just not holding the same ground as the pump. I am supposed to stay on a clear liquid diet for two days and then move on back to the plain liquid diet including oatmeal/cream of wheat, etc.. Im glad to hear everyone else is doing well and good luck to the rest of the "to be banded" !
  4. Brent, did you know that you had a hernia? Congratulations on the biggest step! My big day is tommorow...
  5. Im getting banded tommorow too.. I was fine but my twisted mind is now thinking strange things too.. bedtime cant come soon enough.. trying to find things to fill my day.. good luck to you!!
  6. Surgery tommorow.. struggling yesterday and today with the last couple of days of liquid diet.. started to think its messing with my head. I felt really sad/angry/hopeless last night and wanted to eat. Thankfully my family helped me work through it. I decided that I alway used to let the "mental hunger" win and I am not letting her win this time. But I never realized how many f***ing KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, etc.. commercials there are. I just have to leave the room when they are on.. So anyway surgery tommorow and I cant wait! I have lost 15 lbs in these last ten days and I fit into my old jeans so thats been nice. Im sure I will start to get a little more nervous as the day goes on.. I will definetly check in later
  7. Off to have my last appointment before the surgery on the 15th. Day 4 of my liquid diet and it seems to be getting easier. Im excited and slightly nervous.... but im really happy to have found this forum. How do I post myself on the september surgery list?
  8. Hey there, my surgery is scheduled for Sept. 15th.. Im on this liquid diet as well are you getting crazy headaches? Are you nervous and up all night googling lap band topics like me
