Hopeworks, I think you would do fine with the Challenge. I too am feeling more hungry but limit myself to small portions. If I am feeling hungry I have a drinkable yogurt or small glass of milk and it seems to help greatly, kinda holds you over till meal time. We would love it if you joined us. All of us will lose at a different rate, and have different reasons for being involved, the challenge just seems to keep me in check. As least thats how it is for me. I feel I need to be accountable (never needed to be or wanted to be in the past) but now all of us have each other going through the same thing, and knowing that each of you are there seems to help me more than anything. I do hope you join in.

Good Morning Kiddos, Looks like Monday will be weigh in day and your tickers should be posted correctly, or you can keep a running total on your signature page by updating your signature each week. BJean, I'll try to give instruction is you like for the ticker, it took me a while too. 10 easy steps: 1. go to edit your signature (if you click priviate message on the top of this page it will take you there its located on the right side of the page after you click private message) 2. click edit signature 3. you will see two boxes, a preview of your sig at the top and the edit page just below. 4. open a new window in explorer go to www.TickerFactory.com 5. follow the steps for "weight" and when you see the 3 boxes at the bottom after you complete the required information. left click holding down the mouse and highlight the first box ( I have found that the other boxes do no show on my signature page just the letters of the website) 6. right click your mouse and click "cut" 7. you should already have your signature page open, Minimize the ticker page 8. left click on your signature edit page and then right click and paste. 9. at the bottom of your screen you will see a preview signature buttom and you will be able to see what it looks like. 10. after its right where you want it, you can click save! All of your posts will now have your new signature page with the ticker. I hope this helps, it took me a bit to figure it out too.

Doc is the Bomb! I would reccomend him anytime. Great surgeon , very compassionate, and has the same taste in Mexican artists as I do.

    LMAO spit straight up!!!
  14. I don't know if you have already done the surgery, however all pre ops with Rumbaut are done the day before surgery. If your state side doc requires any testing thats a differant story. The reason I chose Rumbaut is that I did not have to go through much of the requirements that the states require. In addition the cost is less for several reasons. If you feel you must attend a siminar that is your choice. Understand they do preform many tests for the surgery and visits with Nutritionist prior to surgery. They give you lots of info in just a few hours. Good Luck!

Well kiddos, tried mashed potatoes yesterday and Good God!!! I have never been so gassy in my life! My husband thought I was paying him back for all those time he held my head under the covers! Don't think I'll be trying them for awhile, how embar-assing, hehe for a few seconds I thought there was dog growling behind me, I could'nt help it and could'nt blame it on the dog cause he's so little, if something like that came out of him he would propell across the room, so I blamed it on Idaho! whewww don't think I'll be eating that for a while. Going to the doc this week for a check up. Does anyone one know of a doc in Austin that will do fills if you had your surgery elsewhere? The only ones that have been reccomended are in Houston and Dallas. Let me know, and keep up the great work!

Well Kiddos, Been a few since I checked in, just got back from the deer lease with my husband. My clothes are starting to feel a bit loose and it makes me very happy. My underwear even fit better, OH what a feeling!!!!!! Sister called and said she has size 12's for me when I'm ready she just cleaned out her closet. That may be a way down the road but its a road that I'm am steady on. I have noticed that I'm feeling more hungry now and eating soft foods, like I have been told. I do find that I seem to eat normally more and more :hungry: (which scares me a bit) but I know I can handle it. As with some here I feel no restriction at times however know that a fill is only 3-4 weeks away if needed. All of you have done so well so hats off to all of you for your brave decissions and your courage to follow the path less traveled. Keep up the good work, I know you will be sucessful. 16lbs down since banding!!!!:clap2: Official weigh in next week

Keep in mind that if you are not getting enough fluids you may not feel as though you have go. We now have to drink a lot of water and fluids to keep hydrated.

Wow, you guys are talking about the hunger and wanting to satisfy, I can understand, I would like to make a point though. As many have stated, each surgeon has their own way of doing things. I suppose I am a stickler when it come to the rules regarding what I need to do to be healthy with the band. I'm on the 2 week liquids and 2 weeks mushie plan and it's not easy, however not following the rules in the past regarding my body is what got me here to begin with. I do believe is very important that I do what I'm told to be successful! It's time I break all the old habits that caused the weight and follow through for once in my life. I am determined to stick to it and do what I've been needing to do for a very long time, and thats be healthy and live to see my kiddos have families of their own. With that said, I know your pain with the hunger, I sip alittle extra soup or sip on my protien shake, or a small glass of skim milk, or even go for a walk to make it through, be careful out there with bending the rules, I sure don't claim to know enough about the band to advise anyone and our doctors are still learning. For me, I see the light at the end of the Tunnel, Be strong, I believe in all of you.

Kirsten, I did fine after surgery. Walkiing the same day and the day after did a bit of shopping. I was careful not to lift too much but that's why I have a husband and so many children. They do it for me! lol I was walking and playing with and walking my pup on day three. I do hope yours goes as well as mine, and you have a speedy recovery. Keep me posted, I'm very excited for you!

Good Morning Kiddos, Just checking in and things seem to be going well. I'm 10 days post op and doing very well. The liquid diet is only 3 days away from being over. I'm scared to step on a scale though. I did show my hubby that I could pull my short down without unbuttoning them, slid right over my hips! That was so exciting!! Of course his question was " Are you still that sore??" and cocked that little smile of his. LOL I hope everyone is doing well, and I'll keep ya posted at weigh in!

sorry spike didnt see your post, I mowed my backyard yesterday!!!! with a push mower! took my time but it felt great to do something and not be sore! My hubby got peeved at me. lol but said the yard looked great. I must have more swelling or restriction than others. I'm doing fine on the liquid stage and have one more week to go before I can go to mushies. My meal times are at 8:00 am11:30am and 6:00pm, and boy do I make then special. I eat out of fancy bowls and drink from crystal glasses, and sit down with my family at dinner, taking my time. I got to make it special right? Drinking water and other clear liqids in between. My protien shake is like a snack to me, I mix the full 50 gm with 20oz of skim milk or water with ice in the morning, and then sip on it throughout the day. It's yummy to me believe it or not. I think alot of it is mental, I'm afraid to screw something up and waste all that money I just spent. lol I hope all of you are doing well and good luck to those getting closer to surgery date.

I'm with you Linstadt my doc is very strict about what you eat or let me say drink the first month. 2 weeks liquid and 2 weeks mushies. I don't seem to have a problem with the liquids so far, I seem to get full after about 1/3 to 2/3 cup of soup at meal times. Maybe that means I wont need a fill for a while. (crossing my fingers) I'm using the weight loss on the liquid diet as a motivational tool. 4 days post op and have lost 5 lbs. It excites me to no end. Woke up this morning just a very little bit tender on port side, and seem to have no other complications. Good luck to everyone!
