sorry - yes the name could throw you, I'm a girl well 39yrs old. I got the name Slim Jim from Coronation Street years back.

It does and i'm so very sorry for you situation. I hope things go well for you this time around - i'm sure they will. I was banded in 2007, had a couple of fills and flucuate between 9 1/2 stone and 10 stone, i'm 5'6 so this is a respectable weight for me. If I go any lower my skin is obviously wrinkly and I don't want to go to the expense of further surgery to remove the skin.

Thanks very much for this - do you mind if I ask, I notice you have been banded for the second time - what problems did you have with the first band? I was banded in 2007 and am pretty happy with everything but do wonder from time to time how long these bands really do last?

try sucking some Ice and have cold drinks to reduce the swelling a bit inside

Hi, I too have a very tight band at the moment and have spoken to a nurse this morning - she advised that I try sucking Ice, ice pops and have cold drinks as they reduce the swelling inside. Don't drink anything for about 1/2 hr after getting up in the morning and don't drink much or after 7pm at night (I have been having issues at night where gloopy fluid builds up at the back of my throat). I have to say I think the ice is better than trying to drink hot drinks - it goes down easier. Hope this helps a little.

Hi - where in Manchester do I find Frederik for band fills?

Hi i'm a newbie to the site and am also from Lancashire, are you north or south Preston and have you managed to find a support group locally? as far as i'm aware the nearest one for me is in Manchester which is a little too far away. ps despite calling myself Slim JIm i'm actually female :-):faint:

Hi I'm from Lancashire and had my Lapband fitted july 06 although it wasn't until my second fill in November 06 that I actually started to drop the weight. i've lost 2 1/2 stones up to now but may need another fill as I can eat more and seem to be sticking weight wise
