my story started in 2002 when me and a friend went to our first seminar. i new then instantly that i wanted this surgery. unfortunately my insurance would not cover it nor did i have the means to pay out of pocket. so i had to wait. it wasn't until 2006 i found my insurance would pay for it. so i started the process with one surgeon. the criteria for my insurance had to include a 6mos supervised weightloss with my Primary doc. so i started that, but also started an appeal as that is why they denied me. as i am doing this come to find out that the surgeon had lost the contract with my insurance so i had to find another one. meanwhile i am in an appeal with my insurance to fight to get approved. so 5 mos in my surpervised weightloss and 15 minutes before i had a telephone trial with my attorney, myself and my health insurance, my insurance calls and tells me that i am approved for weightloss surgery. i said "thank you so much" hung up and jumped for joy screaming. i found another surgeon who took my insurance and because i had already had a consultation, my psych eval and most everthing done it made it a little easier for them.needless to say i got through it and 10/2007 i had my surgery. i had great weight loss. it has been almost 2 years and i am at goal weight. now i am really trying to exercise and be healthy. i have went from a size 22 down to an 8. i love it. i am more confident and have more energy. no pains in my legs/joint. my overall life is now extended due to this great surgery.
