  2. Welcome Bitsy, the shocking part of it all will soon leave, no you will not be able to eat a plate full of anything ever again, well maybe a saucer full :scared0: . . you will now have to relearn how to eat, drink and live. . . you did your research on the surgery and you wanted it, so now we promise it gets better but you must put all your umph into it as well. . . the tubes, drains, pains, etc are only temporary. . . i was told i could take my pills whole without a problem. . . there is no research that states you must crush your pills. . . you may want to try that. . . if not, then mix it with sugar free puddings. . . that might help. . . good luck and know that this DOES get better. .
  3. I was off for 2 1/2 weeks. . doctor didn't want me going back for that period of time just for the mere fact that we are tired from surgery and getting used to our new selves. . . sooooo i loved the 2 1/2 weeks off and missed NOBODY!:lol0:
  4. lmao at KoKonut! That was funny! Midwest, keep us posted on bossy lady and your experience . . . soup sounds wonderful right about now to me. . .
  5. Hi all, well like i have said in so many other posts, DITCH THE SCALE! I threw mine out the minute i came home from surgery and don't weigh unless it's at the doctors office. My first week and a half i lost 32 lbs. . . i haven't weighed since and am going for my 7 week checkup on tuesday. . . definitately will post my loss at that time. . . but come on ya'll the scale will just depress you and make you feel bad. . . the scale is EVIL . . . DITCH THE EVIL ONE. . . .
  6. I'm so glad your feeling better Tiff!
  7. I had this happen to me. . . my hubbie got mad at me cause he thought now i was witholding food. . after i explained to him that it's just what might happen and as long as i was sipping fluids i would be ok, he just shook his head and said "you were really brave to do this surgery". . . i do try to eat my 3 tiny meals everyday, it's the snacking or grazing i no longer do and that is what makes me very very happy! I eat about 500 - 550 calories a day and i like it that way. . . good luck!
  8. Wow your doing great! Keep up the very, very, excellent work!
  9. Welcome and glad to see you here. . . I was self pay too and have never regreted a minute of it. . .I'm very happy to be paying back and at 3.7% interest rate, hey you can't go wrong! Good luck!
  10. Eeeeek . . . insurance sucks big time! This is exactly why I did self pay, you show the money you get surgery when YOUR ready, not the insurance company. . . i took out a loan for the whole amount at 3.7% and have never looked back. . . could you consider that and show that stupid insurance company you don't need them?
  11. Bless y'alls hearts. . . these problems seem rather painful. . . hugs to all and hope you will all feel better soon!
  12. Laura, you might also have plantar fiscitits with spurs, I thought i had "fractured" my foot at one time cause the pain was amazing especially in the morning getting out of bed. . . I'd hobble around for a while and eventually it would subside, not go away, just subside. . . then i went to the foot doctor and sure enough, I had several spurs and plantars fiscititis. . .what a pain (literally) . . . exercise balls usually come with exercises don't they? If not, get a tape you can follow for exercise balls. . grazing is not good. . .don't know what to tell you about that though sorry. . .
  13. Good to hear, i know it's tough but your going to do well . . . good luck and keep us posted!
  14. Welcom AChopp! Can't tell you anything about insurance either, as DeeDee I was self pay, but from what I know from the others who used insurance there is a lot of hoop jumping and loop holes. . . good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
  15. Wow Tiff, I didn't even realize that you were in trouble here. . . I was still in the hospital myself on this day. . .Are you ok now, bet you feel a whole lot better huh? 24. Hi there, I think my surgery was an excellant price considering it pays for the surgeons (2), anesthesiologist, hospital stay (3 days) 1 year follow up care (monthly), nutritionists, psych, after care 24 hours anytime, and all this for $15,500. The hospital was a very prestine private hospital, very personal and caring only 10 beds limited for bariatric care only. . .there even was a separate area for your loved ones if they were staying in your room with you, yup their own "room" . . shared bathroom of course with you. . .and the best part of all, i got to stay in my own city with the confidence of knowing that the healthcare was here if i needed it. . . good luck in your considerations and best to you in your decisions. . .
  25. Wow your doing wonderful on your protein and water intake! You go girl! I can't do that, makes me gag. . . but anyhow, this is the very exact reason why I don't weigh myself. . .after my surgery I came home and threw out my scale. . .my hubbie thought i was nuts, but i know i wasn't. . i refuse to become a slave of the scale! I only weigh at the doctors appt. . .I weighed in at 1 1/2 weeks out of surgery and had lost 32 lbs . . . now i go back on Feb 16 for my 7 weeks out appt and will weigh again. . I haven't weighed since the last time, so if i had hit a stall i have no idea and i don't become depressed over it. . . God knows i've suffered with depression enough and now i'm in control and won't ever do it again. . so out went the scale. I let my success be seen in my clothes and the compliments from the people I work with and neighbors who haven't seen me in a bit. . . maybe get rid of the scale and just live life as it is meant to be lived. . . good luck
