Hi, I have been struggling with weight since the 8th grade. I did get to my lowest after HS, which was 134 lbs. I am now 54 and have bounced up and down for the last 25 years. My lowest 5 years ago was down to 250 lbs. I have done WW three times, gyms, and Results weight centers. At results, I went from 316 down to 266. Then stress started again with my husband getting laid off from work. After a nice trip to S. Dakota (260 lbs. then), and meeting all the new relatives, I started to slack off. When my husband lost the job in October 2008, I just sank into mild sadness and depression. I am borderline diabetic, and am tired of the seesaw effects. I say each Monday..l will start today! It will be a new week and I will watch what I eat. Well it doesn't happen. I work with preschoolers, and we are served breakfast and lunch. I tend to want to eat what they eat. While on Results, I really consentrated. But as I creep up again, my back hurts so bad, I sit all the time. I retain water and that is another issue. So, I think I want to do the Lapband and it has been recomended by my Dr. His name is Dr. Perez at Healthcare America. He is such a fantastic doctor. Also my insurance does cover the procedure. So, I think I will get all the info I can and try to see if there are any pre support groups at the hospital. I need lots of solid information on all the facts, and to know what side effects there are. I want to be around for my new grandson. I even have a hard time holding him for a long time because of my back. My lowest was last year I had to be wheeled in a wheelchair through the airport because I could not walk from gate to gate. It was very embarrasing to have my new husband of 3 years have to wheel me. Also, exercising is really hard when u are big. They don't look at u the same way and don't help u as much. I need to get down at least 25lbs or so to get back to the walking again. Well, I have rambled on and want to get the help. Hope this site is a good sounding board.  Thanks, Lynn55
