  1. I wouldn't worry about it too much. For one, you are having twins. You are going to gain weight! Try to eat foods that are good for you, and don't stress too much. If you aren't dealing with morning sickness, perhaps getting a SLIGHT fill might help keep you in control? Sounds like you could have used one before you got pregnant if you were gaining? I say talk to your OB and your surgeon and see what they have to say. Remember, the health of your babies is your top concern. You can always lose the weight again later. Stay healthy!
  2. Hi ladies. I am 7 weeks pregnant and eating constantly. I am able to eat a lot more than usual too. I still have some restriction, but not like before I was pregnant. I'm also EXTREMELY bloated. I don't remember having this problem during my 1st pregnancy. The eating constantly-yes, but not the bloating. I'm wondering how you ladies are doing now that you are further along?

  4. I agree. The LB surgery is NOTHING compared to a C section. My surgery went very smoothly, and my doctor told me that lifting my daughter (11 months at the time of surgery) was ok. He said there really wasn't much for me to damage. Just to take it easy for a few days. I picked her up to put her in a shopping cart 2 days after surgery and she kicked me in the stomach. Now THAT hurt, but still doesn't compare to a C section. Don't worry. The surgery is a breeze compared to that.
  5. I've had a few cheezits type crackers with hummus. I look forward to those few crackers every day.
  6. I was banded one week ago today. I was having problems with protein drinks and nothing else. My surgeon asked if I was using a blender to mix my protein shakes and I was. He said that caused more air to get into the drink and that is what is causing that feeling. I've been shaking them up in one of those drink shakers since and haven't had a problem.
  7. I had surgery last Thursday and I came back to work yesterday (Monday). I'm a teacher and moving around all day. I've been lucky and I think this whole experience has been easy for me. Are you able to just play it by ear? Plan on a couple of weeks and then go back earlier if you feel like it?
  8. Hi there. This is my first post so I'll introduce myself while I'm at it. My name is Tammy and I'm 33 years old. I've struggled with my weight all my life. I've considered WLS for years, but after having my first child last December, I've put on even more weight. I contacted Dr. Bovard in Raleigh, NC in September. This has all happened very quickly. My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 12!
