  1. The first couple of days are the hardest. Each day is a little better and a little easier. I was really sore by where my port is for the first couple of days and was pretty hard to get out of bed or stand, by the third day I was walking around and doing much better.

  2. Hey there. Thanks for the pic comment and I think you are being really generous by saying the word "toned." lol. I wouldn't consider myself there yet...I'm headed in the right direction though. yay. Not to impersonalize it, but I have been getting more questions about what I eat, how I work out, etc. It's crazy for me to think that about 7 months ago, I was the LAST person anyone would think to ask for any sort of health/workout advice. Anyway, I wrote a blog that details a little of what I've been doing to get to where I am now. Please check it out. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to message me. Congrats on your weight loss! I'm going to send you a friend request on here.

  3. Thanks for the pic comments. I am 170 and cant seem to break it. I did for like one day, I was 169...lol. I'm 5'6

  4. Hey girl, I see you are still trying to decide about having the surgery. I just have to tell you, it's the best decision I've EVER mad for myself. Today is my bandiversary and with a lot of hard work and dedication, I've lost 115 lbs this past year. I started out at 285 and am down to 170. Check out my page. This is a decision I promise you will not regret.

  5. Thank you to everyone for all your comments, compliments and encouragement. It means more to me than you know. You all motivate me in your own special way.

  6. Thanks for your comment on my blog!!! Good luck on your journey. Let's stay in touch. :)

  7. Hi Bell. Thanks for your comments on my blog. I started working out a littl bit about 2 weeks post surgery. Just doing small things like going for long walks. About a month afterwards, I joined a gym and started working out more frequently. I had a workout buddy in the beginning, so that made it easier. She has stopped going as often, but I still work out all the time; however, having her in the beginning helped give me the push I need.

  8. Hey girl. Thanks for you comment on my blog. Everyone is different and adjusts to the band different ways. Keep a positive attitude and let the Band serve as a tool to help you lose the weight. It's not going to take it all off for ya, you have to put in the work too. :) I joined a gym about a month after getting banded and have been full force since then. Good luck on your journey...keep me updated!

  9. Hey gorgeous! How are you feeling after your surgery?? Took me about 4 days to get back into the swing of things...I bet the weight is just falling off huh? Don't forget, you have to suffer for your beauty. :) It gets better.

  10. Thank you for your comment. Having the lapband surgery was the best decision I've EVER made for myself. Don't get me wrong, I work hard too and help it along the way, but it gives me the additional help monitoring my food intake. Good luck!!!

  11. Hey lady. Thank you so much for the compliment. It means more to me than I think you realize. Posting pics make me feel like I'm being held accountable and it's pretty awesome to look back and see how I've come. I'm in the bottom stretch now...20 pounds to go until my goal!

  12. Excuses excuses, I dont want to hear it! :)

I'm good...trying to shake a few pounds. I feel like I've hit a plateau. Plateau = no good

  13. Hey there. Thanks for the compliment! Trying to drop another 30lbs by 7/22 when I leave for Vegas. :) I've been working REAL hard. Have you been banded already? What are your stats?

  14. Hey girl. Thanks for the pic comments...those are both old pictures...pretty much in my beginning stages of being banded. I still go out and have drinks with my friends, for sure. I dont drink anything with carbonation (i miss my beer, vodka/tonics and jagerbombs), so I usually stick with straight Patron (bad news) or vodka, lemonade with a splash of cranberry. Depending on where I go, sometimes I get a vodka water and bring my own mix (like those to go packets) because the lemonade can have a lot of sugar.

  15. Hey there! So you're having your first consultation? It's a long process, girl, but do NOT get discouraged. It will be the best thing that has ever happened to you and totally worth the time and effort. I love my band and cant imagine I would have gotten this far without it. Don't get me wrong, I work hard to, but it was the push I needed. Good luck and keep me posted.

  16. Hi there, in reply to your post, I've lost 115 pounds with the band, so I'm not sure why the doctor would provide you that info. I know that you do have to fall within a certain BMI in order to be considered for the band, so it depends on your height and weight before they consider gastric vs lapband. My doc told me that it would take me about 2 years to reach a goal of 150-160. I'm 169 now so I'm going to try and see if I can get down to 140 (my ultimate goal) by the end of the year so I can beat his time and weight. :)

  17. Me no hablo espanol. In engish por favor. Muchos gracias. :)

  18. Hey there...congrats on getting your surgery done. Best decision I've ever made for myself. A lot of people have been asking me about my diet and workout so I wrote a blog about it. Please check out my page for that and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Good luck.
