  1. How on earth did a lap band almost kill you?
  2. WOW you have been through so much, poor thing! See thats why I dont want to take a little out. I know I should take a tad out and play around with it a bit but believe it or not I am also a caregiver and it's a big job. When I stress I eat and I dont want to gain however I can do that now anyway if i dont eat right and dont work out. Ahhhhhhhhh weight loss is just hard, with the band without. I have a friend who had a bypass and she lost 50 and then just stopped too. She dosent even have the dumping thing so she can still eat sweets and whatever she wants! Wild right?
  3. Amylynns, how many cc's do you have in your band? Maybe just a little more would help you? I 'think' I have 8.something in my 10 cc band. I havent even been to the doctor in YEARS (my lap band doc that is) because I am self pay. Sometimes I think I should go just so they could check me out but then I would be ashamed to show my face.
  4. Yes! It is nice to chat again with people who have been banded as long as we all have. Aloudwhisper, how much weight did you loose after the band?
  5. Hello! Wow it's hard to believe we have all been banded for SOOOOOOOO long now! I'd LOVE to get the sleeve. I have lost a lot of weight but not "all" of it. Unfortunately there is no way I would qualify to get the sleeve unless I paid for it all as my BMI is actually not that bad now! Go figure! Anyhoooooooo so that wont be happening. I would love to just to eat again, I get stuck on everything and I eat like a bird. My problem is that the bad foods that dont get stuck still are super high in calories and just zip right on through. Amylynns I drink my breakfast EVERY morning, my blender is my very best friend. I drink yogurt/protien/fruit smoothies for breakfast every day and I also do a lot of green juicing. I worry because I know I do not get all of the nutrition in I need every day, but the only way would be to take a bit out of my band and I dont want to do that because I am scared I will gain. Today I had a banana/mango/cherry & yogurt smoothie for breakfast and a stick of cheese and a few crackers for lunch. Id love to eat more right now, in fact I am hungry however I know one more bite and it will be too much and I'll wind up drowning in my phlem. Lovely eh?

    Meal times and amounts

    Hi Silly! My doc actually has me on 5 meals a day right now, or you could say breakfast lunch and dinner with 2 snacks. If you are a tad tight right now after your fill that might work for you as well. I know I am a tad too tight because I can only eat very small meals, it's a push for me to get in all of my nutritional needs every day so 5 meals a day is working great for me right now. It also depends on how many calories you eat and how much you are working out?

    Restriction

    I finally got good restriction at 8.5 cc's so it's just different for everyone ... no 2 bands or 2 people are the same.

    Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

    Hi Joe! How far into your band are you? Are you feeling tight? That makes a big difference on the menu but here is my typical kind of day Breakfast - Protein shake with a banana and whatever other fruit you may like (I use a blendtec blender and it makes it all super smooth) lunch - protien! Tuna, turkey, chicken, steak ... whatever you have handy Snack - veggies (raw) I snack on broccoli and kale, anything green dinner - Anything! Whatever I want just a small amount Dessert - VERY important I eat Jello pudding (fat free sugar free) and like one piece of candy.

    Yesterday Breakfast - Protein and banana smoothie (45g protein) lunch - 4 bites of my son's pizza from costco Water & Calcium and a multi dinner - cup of tomato and red bell pepper Soup Dessert - 1/2 cup Jello pudding & a piece of hershy's desert is always the best part!
  10. I didnt know where to post this but figured this was as good of a place as any. Anyone else been banded a long time now? My last fill was over a year ago and It's been "sweet" for a long time, but I have not been doing well lately because Im feeling so tight. The sight of a big plate of food just scares me and I know I am not getting my nutrition in. I have a blend tech so I live on protein smoothies and green drinks. My post today was prompted by my breakfast, a whole grapefruit blended (skin on) and kale with lots of water to keep it smooth. I have gotten 1/2 a glass in (maybe a cup) and it's taken me an hour so far. Thoughts??? It's been like this for over a month now and I am gaining some weight because I am making bad choices, as you all know the "goodies" all seem to slip right on down, right? What do you guys think about me being so tight like this?????
  11. I have a feeling mine is stress I need to drink some more Water, maybe that will help as well. Thanks, never thought of dehydration as a reason and I am not drinking enough water thats for sure.

    I can eat everything in very small amounts. The only problem is that I can eat all the sugar I want, cookies cakes ice cream candy I can eat it all

    Breakfast: Blended banana, watermelon & Kale with ice Snack: coffee & non fat milk, 1 slice whole grain toast with a teaspoon of almond butter. Have no idea what lunch will be but dinner is going to be an egg white & swiss chard omelette

    Fall Cravings

    This is the time of year I get into trouble, banded or not! Last year I gained a bit as soon as it was halloween time (candy) and then just kept my bad habits till after the new year. I lost it again but this year do NOT want to make the same mistakes!

  17. What are you eating/drinking that's making your mouth Water? Maybe in your case you are just drinking to fast? Gotta go slow.
  18. If your mouth is watering you are stuck. Throw it up !! ....for me thats the only way, if I drink anything including pineapple juice it just gets worse.

    Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

    So I just cant believe that I only have 16 pounds left to loose before my bmi is "NORMAL" I go with mayo clinic's definition's of normal! I gave up WW a while ago because I needed to save some cash but have been keeping up with the lifestyle. WW and my band is a great mix and I am so happy tonight! I just needed to share. I love my band, it has been the thing that has finally helped me help myself! Yahooo me! I never told anyone at WW about my band, never have told anyone except hubbie, parents, in laws and now one friend who is about to get bypass. I tried to talk her into the band but it didnt work so I will support her choice, anyway shes my only "friend" who knows. I have kept my band private for almost 3 years now, best choice I EVER made. Privacy and my band!
  20. There is no doubt that the pre op diet SUCKS. I was on liquids for 3 weeks I was a b---h and felt yucky the whole time. Staying busy is super good advise, just suck it up and keep going. The first few days are by far the worse!

    A Little Upset

    I love accountability thats what helps me when I fall off the "band" wagon. I have turnrd to weight watchers in the past because you weigh in front of someone else and they write it down for you. I am actually thinking about re motivating myself aslo, I was banded a long time ago now, my weight loss has been slow and steady but I still have good times and bad times, and some ups and downs. However that being said I am still down! Just want to get that last bit off. Maybe we can be accountable to each other and weigh in together, post our weight on the board and try our own (much less expencive) form of weight watchers?
