    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

Hi Fellow February Bandsters, My surgery was on the 12th, things went really well, I had a hiatal hernia as it turns out- so that was taken care of at the same time, things were amazingly easy, some gas pains - but nothing Gas Xstrips and walking didn't take care of, I took a few pain pills and I'm back to work today. I'm eating mushies, the funny thing is when the hunger pains start they are really strong, I can only eat a little which is what this was all about so I guess great! So far I would say its all been worth it and I would do it all over again. I think realizing the first 3 days are about sleeping, drinking and walking helped me cope. Best advice is to do what your body is telling you to do. Good luck to everyone!
  2. Pre-op diet is going- that's about all I can say, my head keeps telling me it will be over in another week. The reality is it's just the beginning. I was going along pretty well till I walked into Wegman's last night the smells were enough to make me drool- I got out of there as quickly as possible- barely did any shopping. Looks like the family will be starving too- just kidding. Good luck Patsal
  3. Thanks - But no idea I even had a urinary tract infection- i see my PCP today at 3:30 and hopefully no delays in my surgery-I'm scheduled 2/12. Looking forward to walking the halls Patsal- getting very anxious! How is your pre-op diet going?
  4. I really enjoyed the poem- thanks for sharing. I'm in day 5 of the pre-op diet- just got lab result from pre-op testing and I have a urinary tract infection. I have to take antibitoics and because my stomach is empty (well empty for me) its making me very nauseous. Thanks for the encouragement!

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

My surgery is scheduled 2/12, did exercise/nutrition class and pre-op testing, just need med clearance from my PCP on 2/3, but I haven't decided yet on which band, surgeon has left it up to me. He thinks Realize because of the tools on the web site but says its entirely my decision. I've gone to the website a few times and really don't like it- or maybe not comfortable to me! Not sure which but whatever I decide I know I'll stay with this site- soooo much support and very user friendly.

  12. Hi, I found out last week my surgery date is 2/12, I very nervous. My daughter just had LBS 12/10 so at least I have some up close experience, she's doing great! She started exercising and is trying to handle no restriction, but I'm still very anxious!!!! and concerned about the 2 week liquid diet my surgeon requires. We'll be great, Good Luck to all of us:thumbup:
  13. I just had my appointment with my surgeon and he basically left it up to me whether I want Lapband or Realize band- he believes they are equal and more an issue of support post-op. Hoping all of you may have an opinion you'd like to share. Thank you!

  19. Hi, I think alot of what you are feeling maybe perfectly normal for post op but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't tell you I think its time for you to call someone, maybe whoever prescribes your anti anxiety meds- do something for yourself. I think this forum is great but you need someone to talk directly to. Please, you've taken one very positive step for yourself, take another. Let us know how your doing? My thoughts are with you.
  20. Congratualtions, I had my fingers crossed and I was saying my prayers. I'm really glad someone got back to you and put you out of your misery. Good luck!!!
  21. Sorry but I think I may have misunderstood, I am considering the band because less invasive and less complications - post op but after reading Jaffa I'm concerned- he said MORE COMPLICATIONS with the band??? Does anyone have any idea what complications???

    Counseling/Therapy

I'm new to this site but hopefully this can help as far as sleep test goes - my dr said you can have test done at home, they will bring machine, tell you how to hook up and then pick it up the next day. Good luck!
