  1. Hi Fellow February Bandsters,

My surgery was on the 12th, things went really well, I had a hiatal hernia as it turns out- so that was taken care of at the same time, things were amazingly easy, some gas pains - but nothing Gas Xstrips and walking didn't take care of, I took a few pain pills and I'm back to work today. I'm eating mushies, the funny thing is when the hunger pains start they are really strong, I can only eat a little which is what this was all about so I guess great! So far I would say its all been worth it and I would do it all over again. I think realizing the first 3 days are about sleeping, drinking and walking helped me cope. Best advice is to do what your body is telling you to do. Good luck to everyone!

  2. Pre-op diet is going- that's about all I can say, my head keeps telling me it will be over in another week. The reality is it's just the beginning. I was going along pretty well till I walked into Wegman's last night the smells were enough to make me drool- I got out of there as quickly as possible- barely did any shopping. Looks like the family will be starving too- just kidding. Good luck Patsal

  3. My surgery is scheduled 2/12, did exercise/nutrition class and pre-op testing, just need med clearance from my PCP on 2/3, but I haven't decided yet on which band, surgeon has left it up to me. He thinks Realize because of the tools on the web site but says its entirely my decision. I've gone to the website a few times and really don't like it- or maybe not comfortable to me! Not sure which but whatever I decide I know I'll stay with this site- soooo much support and very user friendly.

  5. Word of advice. Walk, walk and walk. When you are finished walk some more. I walked 2 1/2 miles after surgery and ended up with virtually no gas pain. Oh yeah did I mention Walk? Trust me, it can make a big difference. Best of luck.

Its noon time and I was thinking about you- hope all went well and your walking your way to recovery- let us know how it went! :)

  6. Hi,

I think alot of what you are feeling maybe perfectly normal for post op but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't tell you I think its time for you to call someone, maybe whoever prescribes your anti anxiety meds- do something for yourself. I think this forum is great but you need someone to talk directly to. Please, you've taken one very positive step for yourself, take another. Let us know how your doing? My thoughts are with you.
