  1. Hi all Sept Bandsters! I haven't posted in a while but have been trying to stay caught up on how everyone is doing. My weightloss has stalled since about 2 weeks post op and I am just holding at the same weight now. I am 4 weeks post op today and just scheduled my 1st fill for Oct 17th. I hope it makes a difference because like many of you I definitely get hungry now and I really miss that feeling of not thinking about food at all from those first 2 weeks of post op! Good luck to everyone and I really love hearing all of your ideas on healthy menus because it helps me- I always seem to get stuck eating the same thing over and over and then I start to hate it- so I need all the ideas I can find!
  2. HI! Yes I am feeling almost back to normal. Still a little soreness at the port incision when I bend over or lie down but nothing bad. I had no appetite at all until postop day 8 and then suddenly I was hungry for anything other than broth, popsicles, etc. So I started cream Soups, and some pureed foods- nice to feel full after half a cup of food but it was nice not being hungry at all! How are you doing? Tired of all the rain? I can't beieve it is going to rain all next week too! I need to see some sunshine!:blushing:
  3. Hi! congratulations on your surgery! Just wanted to let you know that there are Support Groups setup for each state in LapbandTalk. On the home page if you scroll down you will see the section called Lapband Support Groups- then you will see Local Lapband Support - USA- then when you select it you will see the list for all the states.
  4. HI! Yes I got home late Saturday night- around 11:30pm so it was a long day- but I felt fine through it all. Just some shoulder pain that started Sat night and normal abdomenal pain. I started back to work Monday morning - but telecomuting so I don't have to make the 1hr commute yet. The liquid diet is getting really old but still hanging in there.
  5. Best of luck Kimberlyann!! I hope the long travel on Sat goes smoothly for you!
  6. Kimberlyann, Good luck on the 17th! I was banded in MX on 9-09 and flew back to ATL on 9/12. I felt fine but it was a really long day with the 1+hr drive from TJ to SanDiego airport, then a 3hr wait at airport, then 4+hr flight and a wait on the runway, then 1.5hr drive home. I was definitely tired when I got home but managed just fine. I did bring a pillow with me and kept it in my lap on the flight- it just felt better- maybe because I was paranoid of someone bumping my stomach. Good luck and let me know how you do!
  7. That is wonderful news about your weight loss and your diabetic meds! Congratulations!:tongue2:
  8. Amanda- I hope your children are feeling better and that you don't catch it! My daughter went with me to MX for my surgery and we just got home late last night - but she went back to Athens,Ga where she lives and then called me this morning saying she had been up sick since 5am. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I didnt catch anything from her! Good luck!
  9. Hi! I just got home last night about 11:30pm ET so it was a very long day- we woke up at 6am PT and I had to go to the clinic for them to check my incisions one last time and then a driver took her back across the border to the SanDiego airport- took about 1hr 10 minutes. Then we had a 2.5 hr wait at the airport- then a 4hr 15 minut flight and then sat at the Atlanta airport waiting for a gate to free up for about 30 minutes - then had a 1.5 hr drive back home. But I had felt fine the entire day- until we were leaving the Atlanta airport and I was rolling my luggage - my shoulder gas pain kicked in and felt like I had a pinched nerve in my left shoulder and it has hurt some ever since. Otherwise, I feel fine- though still sore when I try to lie down or get back up. I had my surgery with Dr Pompa and was really nervous before I went but everything was just as explained and went very smoothly. So other than the fact that I wouldn't choose to spend a day traveling 3 days post-op - it was very easy. Good luck to you next week!:tongue2:
  10. Congrats on your surgery! I had mine on 9-9-09 too. I flew to SanDiego from GA and then went to Tj so my surgery was around 5pm PT and I was released from the clinic at 1pm 9-10 and checked into the hotel - I felt pretty rough that day - just from stomach soreness- I couldn't get comfortable so I couldn't sleet. Today my daughter and I went walking all through this hotel complex - in all the stores and I felt so much better when we came back to our room and was able to take a 2 hr nap. I still have some gas pains but not as often as before. We fly home tomorrow afternoon and I can't wait to be home! My dr - has you do 1 week clear liquids post op and then 2 week full liquids I hope you are doing well!
  11. I really like the Isopure Grape, punch and the orange also. It was taking me all day to drink one prior to surgery and I am on clear liquids for week 1 post op but my daughter went and stocked me up on them for when I am able to start drinking them again. Good luck!

  13. Thank you! I leave Wed morning and have surgery Wed afternoon- then I return home on Saturday morning! Still nervous but excited too!
  14. Congratulations to all of you who have been banded this month! Whenever I start feeling nervous about my surgery next Wed- I just come here and read how well you all are doing so soon after your surgeries and it calms me down and just makes me excited for next week to get here. It is also great getting to hear what to expect and ideas to relieve any discomforts, so thank you all for the info!
  15. Hi all! I also have a 9-09-09 surgery date! Can't wait to hear how you are all doing next week. Good luck with your pre-op diets, I am getting sick of drinking my meals so I am looking forward to not having an appetite for a little while after surgery:smile2:
