    full liquids

I add some stevia to mine, because I don't tolerate splenda and the other non-sugar sweeteners, and don't like their taste. Stevia tastes like sugar to me. Once you are on regular food, the greek yogurt (I use OKIOS) is great with some fruit in it. When I was on regular food I used fresh/frozen blueberries a lot because they are so vitamin dense. (I am back on mushies for now)
  2. You are advised to carry your patient coordinator's phone number with you while traveling in case of delays. My coordinator was Monica and her number was 619-817-8181. another number is 888-344-3916. I had a weather-related flight delay and was very glad to have Monica's number. She was able to rearrange my lab tests and hotel stay before I even arrived.

    carbs after wls

My instructions were below 60 grams. I guess you could ask your surgeon's nurse. They may have their own ideas about this.

    Same question I have.

    Having trouble eating again

I think she posted that her blood work was normal. So I agree with you, Chancie. No worry as long as it is normal. Just eat by the clock.

    Having trouble eating again

Lan2k, Yep, zoloft can cause loss of appetite in some. You've just got to eat by the clock instead of by hunger. After your body adjusts to it that loss of appetite may go away so don't give up on it!

    Monday Morning Weigh In

Down to 215 today. The scales is on the move this past week, 9 lbs past ten days. Probably partly because I am not getting in 6-800 calories, since I have this darn esophogeal diverticulum. I have cut back on the volume I am eating to about what I was consuming the first few weeks post op. in case there is a pressure problem inside my esophagus. Am going to see the gastroenterologist today, hope to get some answers. Glad for the wt loss but not a good way to do it!

    Respect the tummy!

Yes, it rules, and it speaks its' own language. !
  12. Barbann, glad you made it home safe and sound. It was wise to take it slow. Every day will get better now, with a few bumps in the road here and there. Lean on your friends here and we'll help as much as we can.
  13. 5 bites is about what I can eat...I've never been able to eat a cup or more...maybe your sleeve is bigger than mine! From what I've read the sleeve cannot stretch. If you put too much in it you just vomit. I've never had that happen right after eating but others on this forum can tell you about it. I can feel when I'm full and I stop before I reach that point.
  14. I started losing hair about two weeks ago. I expect it will grow back...it's worth it, to be free of all that weight.
  15. If you can, get your three month supply of nexium before you leave. I paid 300 bucks for a three month supply here. It is about half that price in Mexico. I did not need any more Toradol (supradol), as my pain was so minimal afterwards. It was mainly esophageal spasms every time I swallowed at first...especially if I could not burp between each swallow of fluids. That was just a 5 minutes or so pain though, until the fluids went down, each time. If you have anxiety, ask about the ativan.

My post was a reply to Norma...she had the knee surgery. :scared0::laugh0::laugh0:
  19. Shannon, great job! It only gets better and better!
  20. I did not need the toradol pain meds, but I do recommend that you buy 3 months worth of nexium before you leave mexico. It costs 300 bucks for a three month supply here. I only bought a 2 week supply before I left Mexicali and was shocked to see what I had to pay here...and that was with insurance covering some of the cost!

    Best support bra?

Can't help you there...I don't have much to support! Got the "tube sock" effect going on!
  22. One of the first things I noticed was the shortness of breath disappeared and I had all my energy back, once I lost about 30 lbs. It happens very fast. Welcome to the board!

    total knee surgery-in hospital

Norma, I have always hear how painful the recovery is from TK surgery, but also hear how wonderful it is afterwards to have brand new knees that work awesomely. So I'm sure in a couple of months you'll be out dancing and smiling from ear to ear...the new you from head to toe!!! Congrats! Your "need to control" will serve to help you stick with the program and do a great job in Physical Therapy.
  25. You might want to just be prepared to leave early if you get really fatigued. During the first 2 weeks, until I was on mushies, I was extremely tired and needed a lot of naps. All of a sudden I would feel like I could not keep my eyes open. Your intake is so limited during the first 2 weeks, that it stresses the body. Listening to it and taking the rest helps healing. Just be careful, be sure to drink sips constantly so you don't get dehydrated. I took 2 weeks off and that worked best for me. I have a mostly desk job too.
