  1. Happy 44th Birthday deedee68!

  2. Hi, i had the op 2 yrs ago and initially i lost 6 and a half stone over the yr. All was great, until i went and had my last fill just before Xmas 2010. At first i just thought the extra vomiting was just my fault , trying to eat as much as i had pre-fill. However after nearly 6 months of constant vomiting and no weight loss, it got to the point where i couldnt even get a cup of water down. Ended up in A&E and there I discovered that i had Duedonitis and saggy aesophogus, it had been badly stretched buy the food and fluid not passing through. It was also swollen around the site of the band. Luckily i was able to have the band emptied there and then. After a few days resting the throat i was able to eat and all pain and discomfort gone. However, later that evening i was in extreme pain and my hubby rushed me to my local hospital again. This time it seems i had gastritis due to stomach acid coming back up through the band, but also it seems the band has moved down slighty altho the hospital was unsure how much. I have gained 1 and half stone back and am devastated, altho its my own fault. I contacted Dr Chris and now i have to go to London (i live in Germany) pay £99 for a Barium xray and then another £80 consult fee to see him. He seems to think that the band may have not moved enough i can just get a fill and back on track, if it has moved a lot then i will need another op! more money. My question to ppl is,if all is ok, Do you think i will be able to get back on track, my diet is shocking! i seem to have lost the motivation. Has anyone else had these probs and have you come out the otherside with success. I am starting to think i should of gone for the gastric bypass! Help!

    post op weight gain

Help!!!! i had my band fitted July 09 and managed to lose 3st (42lbs) I have had 2 fills (5mls) and the last one of those was back in Oct 09, unfortunately I have regained 1st and am feeling really depressed about. I know what i need to do as far as the eating is concerned but struggle to find foods and the time to consider my menu. I have an office job which obviously means i am sat all day which doesnt help with the exercise side of things. I invested in a cross trainer recently and am trying to increase my exercise although the going is slow. I am getting another fill done on Mar 8th and am hoping this will quick start my weight lose again. basically what i want to know is has any one else experianced this problem and found that having another fill helped. I am so worried that it wont and just need a bit of encouragement....

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

hi, im new to this but was banded by cdb on 7th july 09 and so far so good. i had lost 2st within the first 2 wks but as the swelling has gone down and the healing started i have regained a coupla pounds. at first i was gutted cos my biggest fear was/is that it wont work, after all nothing else has. But hopefully after my fill is done on the 27th August that will change and off we go, lol. At the moment i dont feel to much restriction, however i have had the odd scary moment when it felt like the food was stuck in my throat!. i think the worst experiance i have had to date since the band was fitted was last week. I was admitted to my local hossy because i had faecal impaction and hadnt been 10 days!! oh the pain felt like i was sitting on a rugby ball. Alls clear now but i live on Movical. any way i look forward to continue to read all your stories, ideas and probs, as they are insirational. Take care all:thumbup:
