  1. Do you have to keep the online program to keep using the bodybugg. I am coming up on 6 months of having my bodybugg and I will honestly say i dont really log my food online. I like to log it more in a notebook.. Can i keep using the bodybugg with my watch display without the online program?

  2. I was 327 when I was banded. The reasons why I chose the band were:

    1. It's reversible.

    2. I have control. My band can be adjusted, and I won't have to just simply "deal" with just a smaller stomach.

    3. Bypass patients will gain weight back.

    4. I know a couple of people who had the bypass and they don't look too good. They look saggy. They lose weight too fast and they look saggy and sick.

    5. I don't have nutritional deficiencies.

    6. LAP-BAND® patients don't have dumping syndrome (google it if you don't know what it is)

    7. Surgery is minimally invasive. I have all of my organs and nothing had to be "rerouted."

    8. If bypass patients want to make "adjustments" they have to have another surgery. I.e. doctors have to go in and restaple their stomach.

    9. I'm sure the ladies that I know that had the bypass are not just losing fat - they are losing muscle.

    10. Bypass has a higher risk of complications.

I agree with all of these. I was on the fence too about which surgery i wanted, At first I wished i would have went with Gastric Bypass because its easier at the beginnging and your weight falls off. But now 6+ months post op, I am SO SO glad I went with The band, its been a life saver for me..

  3. Just out of curiousity, how much are you filled six months out?

I only have 3cc in a 11 cc band.. Only had one fill and I think it was 4 months ago.. I dont have much restriction, I am working off a lot of willpower right now and working out. My doctor and I both want to go as long as we can without the aggressive fills and then use the band to help when my weight stalls. I have been losing 2-3lbs weekly for the past few months..

  4. I hit Onederland this morning: 199.5. 40.5 pounds down, 45 to go. I am in awe of y'all who've lost as much as 80 since March- you are my heros.

Time for a fill. Been eating more than usual, including more sweets. It's been a nice vacation and I've enjoyed it, but now I'm ready to settle down and go the next half of the distance.

March on, March Bandsters! We need a Marching song, don't we?

Thanks Awesome! Congrats... Wish I was at onederland  I have 44lbs until then.. Hoping for Onederland the first of the year.. Still only on 1 fill of 3cc's. Dont have perfect restritation but I am losing and I dont want to use the band for all it can do for me until i really need it.. See the Doctor Oct 7th we will see what he has to say.. (though i know he is going to say NO Fill, Will be down like 15lbs in 6weeks since last seeing him)

  5. lost 85 since 3/15 surgery, but having issues. I went in on 9/10 to have afill because I was hungry a lot between meals . The Dr said she actually thought I was overfilled because I was vomiting once or twice a week. She told me if I vomited any more (she slightly unfilled me) that I should get a fluoroscope. I vomited three times in a week, so I scheduled the fluoro. I have it Wednesday to see if I'm (still) overfilled, or if the band has slipped.

Yeah Sounds like you might be overfilled.. ARe you eating slowly and not drinking with meals?

  6. What made you trip, another racer, a pot hole? Or looking at something interesting?

In a recent 10k I recognized someone I hadn't seen in 10 years, started talking and ran right into the back of someone :bored::smile:

It was part road part cross country race and at the end was down hill and rocky.. I think i just tripped over a rock, Several people offered to help me us but we were so close to the end i didnt want to slow them down hehe..

Ran another 5k this past weekend and ran it in 33 mins. Cutting 4 mins off my time.. Felt great! It was in pittsburgh and the race finished in Heinz field! it was awesome

Preping for my 10k at the end of the month, Ran my first 10k tuesday, went good but was very sore after. I dont have alot of high hopes other than just finishing this 10k..

Do they have meds for a running addiction? heheh
