Once again, Exhibit A for why our health care system is so screwed up. This is a total joke! My entire surgery at a large hospital (not clinic) in Denver was $9950. Self-pay. I saw the breakdown to the anesthesiologist, hospital, and surgeon. The surgeon only got about $3500 for that. That seems fair for an hour or less of work!

Great resolutions!!!! I don't think I will be making any, just because it reminds me too much of my years of failed resolutions. I am just going to keep on doing what works, try to do better.

Hey Friends, Happy Holidays! I actually lost a pound the week of Christmas. I am at my Sweet Spot for sure at 7ccs in my 10 cc band. But I can see getting another fill in a couple weeks - its been nearly a month since my last fill, and restriction is definitely less. But not hungry! Love the band!

September 2009 Band Date
Hello Friends, I lost 3 pounds this week! That brought me into Onederland, yay! And I even survived a holiday cocktail party and still lost weight... So I am going to say this is definitely my sweet spot, as I told HMarko. It is just about perfect - I am never hungry, I can eat just about 1/2 cup of solid food, not much sliming as long as I chew well. Can't believe how little I eat without being hungry! Wow. So I have 7 ccs in a 10 cc band - sounds like more than most of you. Its working! Good luck on continuing successes!

New Year, New You Challenge!
Hi Ladies - I have lost 7.2 so far, with 7.8 to go for my goal of 194! Thanks to a pretty major level of restriction, I might just make it. Hope everyone is slaying those pounds!

September 2009 Band Date
Hello Girlfriends, Stopping in to report I am totally restricted after my 3rd fill. I went from 6 ccs to 7 ccs in my 10cc band. No conservative fills for me! Anyway, it is very tough to eat regular foods without taking very small bites and eating very slowly. I need to work on this! Last night I had just 2 bites of turkey and cheese from the inside of a sandwich (no bread) and started sliming and felt stuck. Probably would not have been a big issue if I ate slower and smaller! Not surprisingly, I am losing again after a 2 week stall. Down to 201, so 33 pounds lost. Onderland is just inches away. Hope everyone is doing well.

I can't believe how much you have lost! That is awesome. You need to post some before and afters! Good luck with fill #3. Mine is Dec. 1, but I think I am going to get just a little bit, the second fill is working pretty well still.

Dee, it sounds like maybe you just need a bigger fill? Maybe exercising TOO much? I usually exercise 5 days a week for 30-45 mins, but some hectic days I have to miss exercise. I eat around 1200 calories a day. I log my food sometimes, but not always. I NEVER measure or weigh my food. The thing is, I'm just not as hungry. Not hungry between meals. So the fill is working for me. I think this could be what you need? Don't give up! Plateaus happen, but it will move! Good luck!

I agree, Jillian's DVDs are great. I hate the gym. I run outside, on my treadmill at home, or do a DVD or the Wii. Congrats on that 1 after the 2!

September 2009 Band Date
Hey Ladies, I just wanted to report that my second fill has been AWESOME! I was at 4 ccs and got 2 more for a total of 6 ccs in my 10 cc band. I went up to 6 ccs a week ago today, and have already lost 4 lbs. It is a little tricky because there are certain things I cannot eat now - pasta is out, and beef is not good. Chicken works in small pieces and lots of sauce. I had a major sliming incident with a couple crackers and turkey - probably did not chew enough and ate too fast. My hunger is totally under control, I am eating anywhere from 800 - 1400 cals per day, depends on how hungry I am. Seems like some days are hungrier than others, and I am okay with that. I hope everyone else gets this kind of restriction soon! It is the answer. Best to all of you - :tongue2:

Give yourself a break. Until the restriction kicks in it is really hard. I did have a little bit of restriction with 4ccs, and it helped with the hunger, but believe me I fell off the wagon plenty of times! My second fill brought me to 6 ccs and I am loving it. As for a bigger fill next time!

Hey, 4 pounds is NOTHING for a 3 week vacation!!! You should be proud of yourself! And that fill should help a bunch.

Hi again, Yes I do "full liquids" right after a fill, which includes things like soup and thin oatmeal. But I did not really notice the restriction until I started eating solids. Huge difference. Hope your fill kicks in and no mor PBs!

Your First Fill Date!!!
Hey there - I thought I would share my recent fill experience. I went from 4 ccs to 6ccs at my second fill last week, and the difference has been dramatic. I am not hungry AT ALL, and am eating way less. I did have some near-PB incidents with Pasta and crackers, and tonight I ate about 1/3 of a burger (no bun) before I felt too much chest discomfort and had to stop. But no problem eating Protein bars, and I eat veggie sausage with no problem either. So not sure what is going to work/not work. I am thrilled to be free of that hunger and obsession with food! I just hope this lasts!
