  1. Don't worry about it, I did the same thing only I was soooo hungry I ate mayoniasse by the spoonfuls it was awful, you'll be alright once you start getting your fills. Good Luck! Annie May
  2. :smile2: I don't think it is because you are swollen after surgery and the fill would be too much and you need time to heal, I remember trying to stay on as much a soft diet as I could until I got my first fill and thought I was gonna starve, even after my first fill I did not feel much restriction, only after my second fill did I fill anything. I didn't think I was ever going to lose weight but after the second fill it starting coming off, but keep in mind, everyone is different. Anniemay
  3. I have acid reflux, I never had it until I had the surgery. Don't know why .............maybe cause I still have a mild case of sleep apnea. Funny thing after the surgery I also developed Post Dramatic Stress Syndrome. Anniemay
  4. My doctor never took out any fluid she only added to it, if it is too much restriction and you are having problems they will take some out. Anniemay
  5. you lose restriction when you lose weight, so to answer your question, yes, you can, if you have lost weight! Anniemay
  6. Brandy, This doesn't make sense to me, because normally when you have a fill it doesn't go down in amount it's just when you lose weight you need more fill to tighten your band to cause more restriction. Anniemay:cool2:
  7. Well, it's been almost 2 years and I'm still sliming and throwing up certain foods because I can't stand the sensation. I haven't had a fill for a year for fear the sliming will be worse. I am just stuck at my 40 lb. loss and that's it, because I am scared of more throwing up.Not to mention the funny sounds my stomach makes and my throat. I ask about the throwing up thing but so many people lied to me. I can't really say weither I am glad I had it done or not. I wish I had just stayed on the South Beach Diet because I was slowly losing . Oh yeah, I also developed panic attacks after the surgery! Anniemay
  8. I have the exact same problem since my fill a 1 1/2 years ago, my girlfriend does the same thing. I don't do it all the time mainly if I go out in public, since the surgery my nerves are horrible, but I know if I get it unfilled or reversed I will be miserable because of weight gain, so what do you do?!!!!!!!!!! Anniemay
  9. I don't think you can stretch out your band, it can slip and I don't think this is the case, I was losing very, very slowly and then nothing, I simply needed a fill and I didn't start losing alot until my 3rd and final fill. Anniemay
  10. Vikki........my problem is mainly throwing up and not so much gas, but my Dr. told me to take Prilosec, I prefer Pepsid AC, however, are you drinking enough water? Anniemay
  11. enruffol..........I am ok now most of the time, I still can't eat bread unless it is very thin, I have trouble with salad sometimes and spaghetti. When they give me trouble and hurt, I just go throw it up, its my only relief otherwise I would be uncomfortable about an hour. But to lose weight it had to be this way. Anniemay
  12. Rodeomom, What a small world, my Uncle lives in Brookeland, I know exactly where it is. Anniemay
  13. coqqlgirl, I would not go there full thats for sure, if it were me I would have only liquids but I know your stomach can't have anything in it when you go maybe water.
  14. enruffol after 2 fills and 4 1/2 months later I had only lost 9 lbs, I was so disappointed but after the 3rd fill, whew, I couldn't eat much at all, It has been a year now and I have lost 50lbs, I could stand to lose 10 or 15 more at the most, but when that fill is really tight, I can't keep hardly anything down but soup, so I am in no hurry for another fill. Anniemay
  15. Lindasitton, Does the dental appliance work, I have the mask and I can't stand it, I pull it off every night and it is so uncomfortable. Anniemay
  16. :help:I have sleep apnea and no I don't think you should get your lap band dr. to test you because it takes a dr. who is trained in this area to do it. The have special equipment they use for an overnight sleep study. It is possible that it is caused by your weight and losing weight can help but mine is the obstructive kind and that is more of less genetics!! I wish you luck girl, cause it is not fun!! Anniemay:faint:
  17. Lisa, I don't believe what the reg. md. said, I am going to try to get in at least 50 grams of protein a day, boy it's gonna be hard, but anything is better than going bald!!! LOL Thanks for reminding me. Anniemay
  18. Lisa, My Mexico dr. said I need 60 grams a day but my regular md. said no way their is too much hype about protein you don't need that much, so I didn't worry about it, but now I think that probably is what's wrong, I know I don't eat that many grams a day, I guess I should try suppliments!! Thanks, Anniemay
  19. I also have trouble with my hair falling out now and am going to drs. trying to find out what it's from, I hope my body is not rejecting the band, I am worried I have an autoimmune disease.
  20. I'm from Porter, Tx, my biggest problem is remembering to chop up the food small enough and not eat more than 1/2 cup at a time and thats hard. I was banded a year and half ago and I really don't care about food anymore, in fact, I have to make myself eat. I get absolutely no enjoyment out of it anymore. I used to love to go out and eat, now I dread it for fear I will have to throw up. I also suffer from panic attacks now, anyone have them? I starting having them over in Mexico right before surgery.
  21. Well I can say this- everytime you gag your stomache squeezes in and thats what causes the slippage, you might be able to get by with it for awhile but each time you are taking the chance of slippage. It's really up to you, what do you like more, being smaller or the sex thing!!
  22. Has anyone suffered panic attacks, I have had them since I had surgery in Mexico back in Aug. 06? They are terrible and have ruined my life. Anniemay
  23. jen, sorry about your loss, but I did not feel any restriction until my 3rd fill, until then I could not lose weight, so maybe you will notice a difference after your fills. Anniemay
  24. Well ,the only thing negative I can say is after I get a fill I throw up my food if it is not soup or very soft for several weeks later. I just think that it's very hard to retrain your brain to eat differently after so long a time. but, I am still glad I had it done because I simply could not lose weight anymore on my own. Anniemay
  25. Lapband is pretty safe it only lasts an hour, if you don't have I would bet you will be facing some major surgery in the future anyway and you'll be older and it will be more risky. Anniemay
