  2. Happy 45th Birthday sosexy105!

  3. 2 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 2nd Anniversary sosexy105!

  4. Thank God! Ichy is always good, lol that's a sign of healing. I was told to apply neosporin on my incision.
  5. You should definitely ask all the questions you can when you go back on the 30th. I found out where my port is located and that tiny incision on the top of my stomach was to secure that my liver is safely away from the palcement of the band. My port is next to my belly button. What are they doing about the infection?
  6. Did you have a esophagram yet? I had one nine days after my procedure. I am due for a fill on the 13th. You hit the nail on the head when you spoke of eating slower. At times I forget when I am drinking water or eating my potatoes and I get a reality check, that hiccup, lol.
  7. Hi, yes I was at NYU. Dr. Fielding performed my surgery. Dr. Ren was assisting him the day I had my surgery, they were very busy that day, there were quite a few patients. I will go for my 1st fill in January. They are great! Do tell how is it going for you?
  8. Yes, this SIL rocks! That is so true about barely feeling the port, and mine is located directly on the side. Yesterday, I went for my first post-op to have my incision checked out and I was told my doctor started doing the SIL for about a year now. He too was banded some years ago and that was one of the reasons I chose him, not to mention his wife/partner is also an awesome bariatric physician.
  9. Hi, I always read about the five incision surgery. I have two incisions, one on the stomach area and the other in my belly button. I had my surgery on Nov. 23, I feel very good, thank God. I have been feeling for my port but I cannot feel it. I have plenty of gas though at times in the evening when I lay back.

    reality check after banding

Good for you. My surgery on 11-23 was difficult too seeing all that holiday food. I ate all I could prior to the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I lost a little over 12 lbs in 3 weeks. Do you have excess gas?

    reality check after banding

So am I. But it is okay, because as time goes by we will be healthier looking and feeling, lol. Besides, this was a test and we passed! Furthermore, if we were able to get past this holiday without over doing it, we can apply this lesson and learn when to say "enough" during the holidays. Moreover, appreciate that God blessed us with recovery and our new found relationship with food.

    reality check after banding

Hi, I had my surgery the exact same date. Because I was so used to stuffing my face on Thanksgiving, I really appreciate the fact that this challenge I endured did not conquer me! I am doing well thank God and just as your husband said, this is a "personal trainer" keeping us aware of the unnecessary foods we previously abused!

    Ribeye steak, Lobster tails, Shrimp

I have herad horror stories of these measts getting caught-up and the only elief is to vomit. Personally, I would not take a chance. The doctor and the nutritionist suggested to stray away from these food choices. Besides, I believe avoiding white products and meat would result in a healthier colon.
