  1. I recently gave birth to twins (9/18/12). I had my band emptied at 24 weeks and I had gained 20 lbs at that point, but my band was getting more restrictive. I weighed 240 lbs when I gave birth...so I gained 70lbs during my pregnancy. I am now 222 pounds and just had my band adjusted to 4cc. I can't believe I lost so much control and gained so much. It makes me angry that I have to start this journey over again. I know if I did it once, I can do it again...I can loose 50 lbs by March!

  2. I am 39 years old...banded July 26, 2009. I met my goal of 100lbs of weight loss. I became pregnant in January, 2012...with TWINS!!!! I am 29 weeks and I have gained 28 pounds, but I am pretty miserable right now. In the last week, things are getting stuck and I am only consuming liquids. My drs want me to gain 15 pounds before delivery so that my boys will get bigger. I will deliver early at 36 because of the high risk twin pregnancy I am having. I don't mind gaining more weight for them. They have to be 5 lbs each in 7 weeks...so I have to fatten up a little more. Normal twin pregnancies suggest the average woman gain 40-45 pounds and I will be on target with that, but will have to havepost-204619-13813134242022_thumb.jpg post-205860-13813134242184_thumb.jpg my band adjusted. My lapband dr says he is only going to take 1/2 out. I am happy with that. I cried making the phone call but I know it is for the boys. Prior to getting pregnant, I was so happy with my weight loss. I will have 1/4 of the 1/2 put back in four weeks after the c-section and then go from there. I am so thrilled my dr is not taking it all out. I don't need it all out, just loosened a little. Thick Soups are giving me problems and that is when I knew I needed to get the adjustment.

  3. I am the opposite. I am gaining weight pretty quickly and I am pregnant with twins. I lost 100 pounds with my band(July,2009). I had my last fill April, 2011. I have gained about 15 lbs since last fall (I weighed 165 in October and now I am 180). I also got married last fall and I believe that I have gained due to the fact that I needed an adjustment prior to getting pregnant...sometimes I worry about slippage/erosion causing weight gain...I still feel restriction though...I just eat more often. I am scared that I am going to gain too much weight. I know I am pregnant but it is hard to see that scale moving up. Anyone else out there tell me what it is like to gain weight while banded...I never gained weight before...I would see the scale stop moving down and get an adjustment. At 165 lbs, I wore a size 10, and I am wearing a medium maternity pants, so maybe it is just the babies...I don't know..advice, please.
